In average a 100 g portion of tempeh contains:
Calories: 180
Protein: 14 grams
Carbs: 9 grams
Total fat: 8 grams
Sodium: 9 milligrams
Iron: 13% of the RDI
Calcium: 10% of the RDI
Riboflavin: 20% of the RDI
Niacin: 12% of the RDI
Magnesium: 18% of the RDI
Phosphorus: 21% of the RDI
Manganese: 54% of the RDI
Tempeh is also a good dairy-free source of calcium. 100 g of tempeh contains around 2/3 of the calcium found in one cup of milk!!
But that is not all! Tempeh is a great source of probiotics.
During the fermentation process, the sugars are breaking down by the Rhizopus culture, making Tempeh easy to digest and absorb. With more that 8 g of fibre per portion is a good source of fibre as well.
