Recently there have been quite a few studies on reflexology and its benefits for cardiac patients.

Benefits of reflexology for individuals with cardiac issues demonstrate that there are many potential benefits. The benefits have long been suggested based on studies and anecdotal evidence. Some of these potential benefits include:

1. Stress Reduction: Reflexology is known to promote relaxation and reduce stress. Chronic stress is associated with an increased risk of cardiovascular problems, so reducing stress levels through reflexology may have a positive impact on cardiac health.

2. Improved Circulation: Reflexology may help improve blood circulation throughout the body. Improved circulation can benefit individuals with cardiac issues by ensuring a steady supply of oxygen and nutrients to the heart and other organs.

3. Lowered Blood Pressure: Some studies have found that reflexology may help lower blood pressure levels. High blood pressure is a risk factor for cardiovascular problems, so reducing blood pressure through reflexology may be beneficial for individuals with cardiac issues.

4. Enhanced Relaxation and Sleep: Research has shown that Reflexology promotes relaxation and improves sleep quality. Getting enough restful sleep is important for overall health, including cardiovascular health.

5. Reduced Anxiety: Reflexology has been shown to help reduce anxiety levels in various populations. Managing anxiety can be beneficial for individuals with cardiac issues, as anxiety can contribute to increased heart rate and blood pressure.

Reflexology has real potential as an adjunct to cardiac care. I have worked with cardiac monitors and seen real changes as I worked. More research needs to be done to establish reflexology’s value in assisting cardiac patients.

From Family First New Zealand

Yesterday we flew to Wellington to present the What is a woman? petition, signed by more than 23,500 people.

The petition calls for ‘woman’ to be defined as ‘an adult human female’ in all our laws, public policies and regulations, and was received by Deputy Prime Minister and Leader of NZ First Winston Peters and NZ First MP Tanya Unkovich.

The bill would require and state that distinctions between the s*xes be considered substantially related to the important governmental objectives of protecting the health, safety, and privacy of individuals, with respect to the following areas: ● schools; ● sports; ● prisons or other detention facilities; ● domestic violence centers; ● r**e crisis centers; ● changing rooms; ● toilets; and ● other areas where biology, safety, or privacy are implicated that result in separate accommodations. Individuals born with a medically verifiable diagnosis of disorder/differences in s*x development should be provided appropriate legal protections.

Interestingly, there has been NO media coverage of this petition. Perhaps they were scared that we might put the question to them - what is a woman? (Bob is doing interviews with both RCR and The Platform tomorrow.)

Very interesting especially if you are suffering from Long Covid

New research finds that COVID-19 infects and significantly damages autonomic nerves before the virus infects the blood. This may explain why a majority of people with Long COVID develop POTS and other forms of dysautonomia, and why people with pre-existing POTS and other dysautonomias may experience a worsening of their autonomic symptoms during and after a COVID infection.

The researchers also found that the virus infects sensory neurons, the spinal cord, and brain regions with significant connectivity to the peripheral nervous system. The researchers also found evidence that the virus can spread to the central nervous system through the peripheral nervous system.

You can read the research paper, which is quite technical, here: https://www.mdpi.com/1422-0067/25/15/8245

Dysautonomia International board members suspected COVID-19 may be infecting the autonomic and sensory neurons since the early days of the pandemic, which is why we advocated for the NIH RECOVER study (the US government's nearly $2B effort to study Long COVID) to collect autonomic and sensory neurons (also known as ganglia) during the RECOVER autopsy study. After numerous meetings, we were able to get RECOVER's agreement to do that. Unfortunately, RECOVER declined our request to also collect vagus nerve samples, despite research from outside of RECOVER demonstrating that the vagus nerve can be infected, that the vagus nerve may be a route of viral spread from the periphery to the central nervous system, and evidence that many Long COVID patients have symptoms suggestive of vagus nerve impairment.

We can't wait for the government to figure out dysautonomia and find more effective treatments. That is why Dysautonomia International is funding research on POTS, other forms of dysautonomia, and Long COVID associated dysautonomia - research aimed at identifying more effective treatments for millions of people suffering from autonomic disorders as soon as possible. You can help support our innovative research program by making a contribution at www.CureDys.org or hosting a Facebook fundraiser at facebook.com/fund/DysautonomiaInternational

Regular Reflexology aids the body in so many ways

People love reflexology for several reasons. Here are a few:

1. Relaxation: Reflexology is deeply relaxing and can help to reduce stress and anxiety. The gentle pressure applied to specific points on the feet or hands promotes a state of relaxation and helps to calm the mind.

2. Pain relief: Reflexology may help to relieve pain and discomfort in various parts of the body. By stimulating specific reflex points, reflexology can help to improve circulation, reduce inflammation, and promote the release of endorphins, which are natural pain-relieving chemicals.

3. Improved circulation: Reflexology helps to improve blood circulation throughout the body. By stimulating the reflex points, it encourages the flow of blood and oxygen to the organs and tissues, promoting overall health and well-being.

4. Detoxification: Reflexology can aid in the detoxification process by stimulating the lymphatic system and promoting the elimination of toxins from the body. This can help to improve the functioning of various organs and boost the immune system.

5. Balance and harmony: Reflexology is based on the principle that there are reflex points on the feet and hands that correspond to different organs, glands, and systems of the body. By stimulating these reflex points, reflexology aims to restore balance and harmony within the body, promoting overall health and well-being.

Why do you love reflexology?

Reflexology has been studied for its potential impact on sleep disorders, and some research suggests that it may have beneficial effects. Here are a few key findings from studies in this area:

1. A study published in the Journal of Advanced Nursing in 2016 examined the effects of foot reflexology on sleep quality in patients with multiple sclerosis. The study found that reflexology significantly improved sleep quality and reduced sleep disturbances in the participants.

2. Another study published in the Journal of Korean Academy of Nursing in 2010 investigated the effects of hand reflexology on sleep quality in elderly women. The study reported that hand reflexology significantly improved both subjective and objective measures of sleep quality in the participants.

3. A systematic review published in the Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine in 2019 analyzed multiple studies on reflexology and sleep disorders. The review concluded that reflexology showed promise in improving sleep quality, reducing sleep disturbances, and alleviating symptoms of insomnia, although more research is needed to establish definitive conclusions.

It is very important that farmers have their say in the recent Beef + Lamb climate change biotech and GE survey. Levy payers, check your spam or junk mail folder in case it has ended up there. Have your voice heard and say NO to our agricultural industry reputation being destroyed by unnecessary ‘biotech and GE’ tools. Consumers do not want GE in the food chain. They like our grass fed, free range, minimal antibiotics and GE free product just the way it is. Please share.

Reflexology offers several benefits for the lymphatic system:

1. Improved Lymphatic Circulation: Reflexology techniques, such as specific pressure and massage on the reflex points associated with the lymphatic system, stimulate lymphatic flow. This helps to enhance the circulation of lymphatic fluid throughout the body, supporting the effective removal of waste materials, toxins, and excess fluid. Improved lymphatic circulation promotes better overall health and well-being.

2. Enhanced Immune Function: The lymphatic system is closely linked to the immune system. By stimulating the lymphatic system through reflexology, the body's immune response is activated and strengthened. This helps to improve the body's ability to fight off infections, viruses, and other pathogens, reducing the risk of illness and supporting overall immune function.

3. Detoxification: The lymphatic system plays a crucial role in detoxification by eliminating metabolic waste products, toxins, and cellular debris. Reflexology techniques promote lymphatic drainage and help to flush out these waste materials from the body. This supports detoxification, improves lymphatic circulation, and contributes to better overall health.

4. Reduction of Edema and Swelling: Reflexology can be beneficial in reducing edema and swelling caused by fluid retention. By stimulating lymphatic flow and drainage, reflexology techniques help to alleviate fluid buildup in the tissues. This can be particularly helpful for individuals with conditions such as lymphedema or post-surgical swelling.

5. Relaxation and Stress Reduction: Reflexology is known for its relaxation and stress-reducing effects. By inducing a state of deep relaxation, reflexology helps to reduce stress levels, which can have a positive impact on the lymphatic system. Stress can impair lymphatic function, so reducing stress through reflexology supports the optimal functioning of the lymphatic system and overall health.

6. Improved Blood Circulation: The lymphatic system and blood circulation are closely interconnected. By promoting lymphatic circulation, reflexology indirectly supports better blood circulation. Improved blood circulation ensures that oxygen and nutrients are efficiently delivered to the body's cells, promoting overall health and vitality.

In summary, reflexology offers various benefits for the lymphatic system, including improved lymphatic circulation, enhanced immune function, detoxification, reduction of edema and swelling, relaxation and stress reduction, and improved blood circulation. These benefits contribute to better overall health and well-being.

Interesting We all need to listen to our bodies more....
I still believe the medical profession still has a place in our lives but possibly not as much as we think......

What do you think?

They got you to view the body as the trouble maker, rather than the HEALER. They got you to believe man was smarter than nature. They convinced you that removing parts, fighting germs, burning down the body, and taking prescriptions are the foundation to proper health care.

And here we are...sicker than ever as a population.

I view the body in a different way...not as the trouble maker. Quite the opposite. I see it as an INFINITELY intelligent organism that is in a constant state of adjustments to achieve homeostasis, with symptoms being the actions taken to do that on a regular basis, or to provide a warning of an underlying problem.

Got a fever? Body heating up to attempt to neutralize an unfriendly microorganism.

Have inflammation? The body is releasing acids to dissolve active infections (why do you think Vitamin C - ascorbic acid - works so well for the immune system?).

Have painful swelling in joints? The body is indicating a blockage or lack of flow to and through the area, which can eventually lead to degeneration of bones and tissues.

Have osteoporosis? An overly acidic condition (hyper inflammation) has forced the body to rob the bones of their highly alkaline material to buffer a potential dangerous blood pH.

But they tell you, the heat, inflammation, and symptoms are the PROBLEM, and they will fix it by either dismembering you (surgery) and/or poisoning you, neither which gives the body what it needs to HEAL. In fact, it only makes the job more burdensome.

Their approach is all smoke and mirrors. Tired of the clowns and carnival yet? Ready to leave the circus?

You can't until you view any illness as a response by the body to protect itself, or a sign that something is wrong, and that you need to fill in the gaps with an eye on nutrition, supplements, lifestyle, and therapies. You have to understand the body is not the problem, and that the system is the problem.

Who are you going to align with? Your BFF - your body - or those who profit off your continued misery - the health care system?

Seems obvious, doesn't it? If you need help, and many people do, get in touch with me and we will align you with the natural approaches that allow the body to incorporate it's infinite wisdom and heal your dis-ease.

Great Illustration showing the lateral and medial patellar ligaments😍

Most of us will know the MPFL as the primary ligamentous restraint of the patella, providing 50–60% of the restraining force against lateral displacement. https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/22878653/

But as illustrated here, there are other important medial and lateral ligamentous structures as well:
▶︎ the patellofemoral ligaments (LPFL and MPFL),
▶︎ the lateral and medial patellomeniscal ligaments (LPML and MPML),
▶︎ and the lateral and medial patellotibial ligaments (LPTL and MPTL)

As you will recall a longer second toe often times means more foot stress. Foot stress can lead to stresses in other parts of the body such as the musclo-skeletal system but it can also impact your energy levels as well.

So what do you do about a longer second toe since sawing it off doesn't seem practical?

1) Good shoes are a must. You need a roomy enough toe box to allow your toe to stretch out and not collide with the tip of your shoe.

2) Rock and roll your feet. If you caught my earlier blog this is a simple exercise for breaking up the stress patterns in not only the forefoot but also the middle part of the foot where longer second toes tends to lock this joint. If you didn't catch the last blog here is a simple version.

Stand with your feet about shoulder width wide. Bend your knees slightly and rock side to side rolling over your feet. If you have problems with balance hold onto the back of a chair. (You can even use two chairs.) do it for several seconds and try to do it several times a day particularly if you are in a standing profession.

3) Calf stretches. Again I mentioned this earlier but let me repeat. The calf muscles attempt to pull the foot flat while the foot tries to maintain an arch. So loosening the calf muscles also loosening the foot as well. Stretch the calf muscles daily if not several times a day.

4) Roll your feet on a simple foot roller. Rolling your feet causes the plantar muscles (the muscles on the bottom of the foot) to relax. There are a wide variety of foot roller styles to choose from. Use your roller daily to break up the pattern of stress associated with a longer second toe. Remember interrupt the stress and do it frequently.

5) Find a good reflexologist to work on your feet. This is an investment but like good shoes it is a good investment. And it is so soothing.
