Mental health issues are a ongoing problem in the world today, I believe that exercise is our cure, our bodys are designed to move. Technology has chipped away at our physical activity, machines, phones and vehicles do the work for us

Exercise improves mood and decreases feelings of depression and anxiety, it can increase the production of serotonin in our body, pretty much produces that feel good feeling.

Fitness helps us maintain our body, keeping our muscles and bones strong, increasing our confidence, our energy levels, good brain health and also helps us to relax,sleep better and live longer.

So pretty much.. if you are feeling a lack of confidence, your mental health is at a low,you struggle to move or carry your child down the road, you feel unfit and unmotivated... then step out of that comfort zone and do something about it.. walk, run, gym, swim, play a sport, learn to love it and be proud.

It's not about being perfect, it's about effort. And when we bring that effort every single day, that's where transformation happens, that's how change occurs.

DO IT!!!

ACTIVE RECOVERY.

- it's easy to get carried away with working out, it becomes your feel good go to, weather it's meditative, empowering or therapeutic.

- remember to leave room for active recovery, instead of going full speed on working out every day, Lifting weights, high intensity workouts, I know you love it but your body needs rest and recovery to come back stronger.

- if your body gets physical stress from over training, you can reach the point of diminishing returns and not seeing progress.

- active resting can be a number of things, walking , jogging, stretching or even yoga.

- working at a lower intensity will help increase recovery from your previous workouts by increasing blood flow to your muscles and tissues. giving your circulation a boost helps get nutrients ( like amino acids and oxygen) to your muscles to help them repair.

A reminder to be the encouraging and understanding friend, who uplifts and supports each other, know your people, stand up for your people, encourage them, look out for them, check in on them, understand them, be a inspiration for them.

We are all here on our own journey, we have dark days and we have good days, we battle life in different ways, not one person is the same, so be there for one another and uplift each other.

We rise by lifting others. Our souls grow and find happiness when we give to others. In fact, we are wired to be compassionate and kind. It is a genetic necessity for human survival. The trust, connection, and cooperation engendered through giving, creates community, restores the lonely hearts and brings happiness.

Thanks to the crew at and all of the supporters for joining and donating to gumboot Friday.. the owners of Rampage Fitness matched the donations from the class. Bringing the total up to approximately $1000. This is a amazing effort.

GUMBOOT FRIDAY is fast approaching...
Founded by mental health advocate Mike King, is a free counseling service for any young person in NZ aged 25 and under.. this is a underfunded and under resourced service... let's show our support to all the young people in need of help.
I will be running a BOXFIT BURN session on gumboot Friday 5:30pm Friday 3rd November.. $20 per person.. Rampage Fitness have shown their support and are going to match the donation we make.. I have Ltd spots of 30 people.. if you can't make it, your donation will still be accepted.. please comment below if you want to take part.. give it a share... and thanks in advance for your support.. we are making a change 🤍
