My Journey into Osteopathy began in 2012 and I completed my Masters in Osteopathic Medicine in 2016.
The essence of Osteopathy represents a core belief of mine, “Te Hau Toki” (The biological, chemical and spiritual balance).

My approach to easing the strains and afflictions of the body and mind is to put people as the key focus of my treatment and practice.
My whanau, embracing all people and exploring Aotearoa are important to me and practicing Osteopathy has significantly enhanced these areas in my life, while I have no doubt it will continue to into all generations to come.

Did you know acupuncture is successfully used for treating conditions such as RSI, tennis elbow and golfers elbow?

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy for PTSD

A recent study from October 2023 shows that Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) can effectively treat Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). PTSD can alter brain activity and structure, leading to long-term problems in social, behavioural, and work life.

HBOT has been used successfully for conditions such as stroke, traumatic brain injury, and fibromyalgia - structural and functional disruptions of the brain. This suggests it may also help with the brain changes caused by PTSD.

The study reviewed 10 clinical trials and many case studies, with treatments ranging from 30 to 80 sessions at varying pressures. Long-term therapy is needed to promote neuroplasticity - the brain’s ability to repair and reorganise itself after injury. All studies showed positive effects on PTSD symptoms.
