Honour your Soul and Spirit this Winter Solstice with this magical tree resin from the Amazon rainforest.

This is Breu Branco, a tree resin harvested by the native people of the Amazon Rainforest. Also known as "The Frankincense of Amazonia”. I first encountered this resin 25 years ago and fell in love with it and have pined after it ever since. I have recently sourced a limited amount from Brazil and my love affair has started all over again. It’s the star ingredient in my new Winter Solstice Blend.

Breu Branco is the main incense burned by the partakers of the sacred Ayahuasca. Deeply cleansing and aromatically sweet and uplifting. Said to bring creativity, grounding, and calming, helping people connect to the deeper levels of their soul. Healing, purifying, cleansing, and protecting the spirit.

I will have a limited amount of this magical resin for sale at the Te Ruru Mid Winter Market on Wednesday and at LUMEN Studios & Gallery.

A limited edition botanical incense to celebrate Winter Solstice and burn away your sorrows and the dross of life and embrace rebirth and renewal.

A cleansing, healing and uplifting incense of predominantly earthy and woody tones with sweet resin highlights. The resins Breu Branco, Black Copal and Sumatran Benzoin are uplifting and inspiring, while the wood from Palo Santo, Sandalwood and Myrrh soothes and heals the soul. The aromatic herbs Black Sage, Yerba Santa and Eucalyptus bring deep cleansing and purification.

Ingredients:

Breu Branco | Breuzinho - A tree resin harvested by the native peoples of the Amazon Rainforest. Also known as "The Frankincense of Amazonia”. It is the main incense burned by the partakers of the sacred Ayahuasca. Deeply cleansing and aromatically sweet and uplifting. Said to bring creativity, grounding, and calming, helping people connect to the deeper levels of their soul. Healing, purifying, cleansing, and protecting the spirit.

Black Copal - It is believed that the smoke of the Copal purifies the person's energy and environment. One of the most important incense-burning substances of the ancient American cultures, was believed to be a heavenly, sacred resin embodying the presence of the divine. It is written in the Mayan "Book of Wisdom" that copal was extracted from the tree of life by the divine god of the earth and given to humans as a gift In ancient times, copal was burned at least twice a day; in the morning and evening as offerings to the sun.

Sumatran Benzoin - Benzoin resin has a sweet, balsam-like fragrance resembling vanilla. Since antiquity, styrax resin has been used in perfumes, some kinds of incense, and medicines. It has relaxant and sedative properties, helping to relieve anxiety and stress. It is uplifting, soothing, warming, helps to overcome depression and restore confidence, dispels anger, and clears the head. Benzoin is warm, relaxing and calming and popular to use in the evening mixed with sandalwood. It has been known to stimulate imagination and creative work.

Palo Santo - Harvested wood from Palo Santo trees which are found primarily in South America and in some regions of Central America. When burnt it releases a woody scent with hints of pine, lemon, and mint. In the Shamanic history of South America, Palo Santo is said to remove negativity and obstacles and attract good fortune. The uplifting and pleasantly aromatic smoke enhances the vibration of any environment, facilitates creativity, and attracts positive energy.

Sandalwood - Sandalwood has been used for thousands of years in a ritual context. It appears in Buddhist and Muslim rituals, and was one of several fragrant plants used by the Egyptians in embalming rituals. In Buddhism burning sandalwood incense transforms desires and promotes human mindfulness. In many traditions of modern Paganism, it is associated with healing and purification. The scent being released by sandalwood incense is known to lower the levels of anxiety and stress. Burning sandalwood incense relieves insomnia as the aroma of sandalwood is a great sedative.

Myrrh bark - Myrrh has been used since antiquity in incense mixtures to inspire prayer and meditation and to fortify and revitalize the spirit. Myrrh was hugely popular with our ancient ancestors, used as medicine by the Chinese and Egyptians, with the Egyptians also using it as a part of mummification. Burned before ritual, Myrrh rids the area of negative vibrations. Myrrh is burned for purification, protection and self-healing. The scent is said to boost the spirits and the soul, and is often used to alleviate the symptoms of nervous system disorders.

Black Sage - Black Sage is a small, highly aromatic, evergreen shrub of the genus Salvia native to California and Mexico. Black sage also known as Mugwort, Black Sagebrush, Magical Sage or even Dream W**d. During drought the leaves of black sage darken dramatically. Black sage is used to encourage visions and vivid dreams and is known as an herb for inner healing and introspection. When burned before bedtime, it aids in restful sleep and pleasant dreams. Black Sage is used for shamanic journeying and for protection during such excursions. It is burned in the home to increase positive energy and remove negative and harmful energies.

Yerba Santa - Yerba Santa is a flowering shrub native to Southwest America and Northern Mexico. It is considered to be a sacred herb in Native American and Spanish cultures, where it is regularly used for protection, courage, purification, and healing. It has traditionally been burned to help heal broken hearts and in smudging practices and rituals to increase a person’s connection with a higher power, as it works to open the crown chakra. Yerba Santa can be used to help you find your inner strength, heal emotional wounds, and increase psychic abilities. Yerba Santa is known to have a highly protective energy, which makes it an excellent herb for smudging.

Eucalyptus - An evergreen tree native to Australia with leathery, aromatic, blue-green leaves. For thousands of years, Australian aborigines used eucalyptus leaf for its healthful properties. Burning eucalyptus leaves releases antibacterial and antiviral properties, enhancing respiratory health and facilitating easier breathing. The scent is refreshing, providing a sense of clarity and calmness.

Each incense jar is made to order and comes with a roll of 10 charcoals to burn the incense powder on. Available to purchase at the Te Ruru Mid Winter Market, LUMEN Studios & Gallery or online at https://www.lumengallery.co.nz/product/winter-solstice-incense

First Light Flower Essences of New Zealand are native botanical remedies that naturally restore balance and harmony in our lives. They influence emotional, mental and spiritual wellbeing by gently healing disharmonious patterns in the energetic network within and surrounding the body. Homeobotanical remedies are diluted and potentised herbal extracts. Homeobotanical therapy is essentially a hybrid of homeopathic and herbal medicine. They offer a comprehensive range of 60+ formulas for a wide range of health issues including Immunity, Pain, Allergies, Skin, Digestion, Sleep, Stress and Energy. Considered safe for children, babies and animals.

* 15min consultations are free, does not include the cost of remedies. Flower essence or Homeobotanical remedies are $30 each or $40 for a combination remedy. I offer 60min private consultations for $90, includes a remedy.
