Week 3- wow what an amazing week, hands in the dirt with Eru- Repotting natives, cooking in the kitchen and how could we forget mountain day with Kate at Porters Ski Field- this is where we go to see students really excell and push themselves outside of their comfort zones in extreme sport. Be proud of yourselves for pushing through.
First 2 weeks of GROW Ono has flown by. Busy settling into college life and getting to know everyone. We have done an outday to Travis wetlands, a walk around Pegasus lake, cooking in the kitchen, looking after the chickens, doing our daily responsibilities and creating some term goals. Well done all, be proud of your last few weeks you have all done amazing. Keep celebrating the little things.
Rima Graduation- well done to the 10 students that graduated from the group programe last night. 8 out of 10 receiving an attendance certificate how awesome. Be proud of yourselves, keep celebrating the little things and remember this is not the end of your journey just the start. Ps please don't be strangers pop and and update me 🤩
Week 8- wow a month to go! The group still has amazing attendance and are growing in all aspects of college life. This week we had a big session down in the garden and nursery helping Eru out, had a great discussion around 5 ways of wellbeing, developed our cvs more, went and had a behind the scenes tour at the Air Force Museum and had a great day in the kitchen. Keep up the good work and keep celebrating the little things.
Week 6 and 7- Seen the GROW students have two visits to ARA campus to have a look around both city and trades. We also spent the week learning the road code for up coming learner license tests. Keep celebrating the little things and be proud of your achievements so far
Week 5- Coffee introduction! What a great hands on learning week we have had, all students getting to spend some time on the coffee machine learning new skills. We also found some time to not get lost at The Groynes, doing some orienteering. Keep up the great attendance, and celebrating the little things.
GROW week 4- lovely week lesrn8ng about future careers/jobs, worked as a team to clean the college van, went and explored willowbank wildlife reserve, and had a lovely time in the kitchen making some mothers day chocolate gifts. Keep celebrating the little things 😀
GROW Rima- Week 3, amazing attendance by all for a busy week. We started the week of by doing a local beach rubbish clean up, we then started doing our CVs, cooked in the kitchen using feijoas, bananas and pastry and went ice skating where everyone pushed themselves and got on the ice! Great work, keep celebrating the little things bring on week 4 😀
GROW Rima- Week 2, short week for us here having ANZAC yesterday- 100% attendance from the team this week, Amazing effort!!!
This week we set some personal goals for the course, planned and toped up our raised garden beds and explored the beautiful Orton Bradley Park.

GROW Toru graduation- 12 weeks of group classes complete. Well done all, be proud of your journey and excited about what the future might bring!

Great start to GROW Wha- Week 1- Everybody got to know each other on day 1, then spent a day in the kitchen cooking lemonade scones and omeletts and ended the week with a was around Travis wetlands. AWESOME week with awesome rangatahi!
Week 2 - spent some time in the Mara Kai (garden) planting out vegetables and covering them with netting to protect them from birds. We then collected 12kgs of tomatoes, zucchini and made fresh tomato sauce, zucchini fritters and chips. Ended the week with a beach walk from Woodend Beach to Waikuku. Kapai to mahi team!
Week 6- Toru class learnt all about the 5 ways of wellbeing- budgeting needs and wants. Also the whole class including miss pushed themselves outside of our comfort zones and went ice skating, was very cool, see what I dud there hehe.
Officially half way, Awesome work team keep it up.
Week 5- This week was a very hands on week for Grow Toru. Doing our introduction into barista skills, learning how to do a shot of coffee and using the steam wand. We also did a beautiful walk with Faye up Godley Head to Boulder Bay.

Week 4- seen us be out and about in our community, doing a beach clean up at Waikuku Beach, a spot of fishing at the river mouth thanks to our wonderful instructor Dima, and started work on our CVs. Amazing efforts team!
Week 3- what a busy short week we had- had a meet and greet with the college horses, made chocolates for upcoming valentines days to gift to our loved ones or ourselves, hands in the dirt with Eru and the native babies and finished the week with a walk with Faye at Vic Park. Well done team, keep celebrating the small things.
Week 2- was our big challenge week! It seen GROW push themselves and achieve going through cave stream as a team... we also learnt about Waitangi and flax creating. Great week was had.
