Kacey Cheetham Racing 97H
Kacey Cheetham Racing page updates
Huntly opening night on the 21st of oct there was a good turn out of cars, race 1 started 10 and pushed hard and come home with a 4th 2nd race DNF with right flat tyre and 3rd race went to line up and come cross a weird noise so we had a DNS.
We were meant to head to Wanganui the next day for racing with our motel already booked ect but we decided to still go down and crew for some of the other huntly cars that were racing down there and also towing the 19h down so they could have a skid down there what a busy weekend that was fixing the problem on the car Monday and Tuesday night.
Gisborne opening night also the Ashley Scott memorial meeting good number of cars again down there for this race one started 20 finish 8th, 2nd race DNF as the throttle jammed on 3rd race grid up and we blew power steering pump.
Rotorua on the Friday got rained out so we headed back to huntly on the 4th for the huntly fireworks which we raced a 3 /4 format race one DNF as still couple problems from week before 2nd race went well and had a good run race 4 changes to the set up and had car hooking up good in the last one back home fixed car and off to Rotorua for there fireworks night on the Sunday had a good run started 14th and finished 10th started 1st and lead the whole race with some good battles going on and got past on the last lap so got a 2nd so that put me in to the final race start 11th and finished 9th did almost 3/4 of the race no power steering.
Back to Rotorua again this Friday night for a club night first race went well was bit slippy but good racing 2nd race blew stub and hub to bits so DNF, we head to Kihikihi yesterday for a skid had a super great night there started grid 2 lead a few laps and then we had a red light come on and on the restart miss the light and lost a few spot but that racing and 2nd race start 10th and got 4th with some good battles going on last race started 13th and got 8th.

It's been a while between updates with racing most weekends.
Back in early April it was awesome to get a drive in a superstock at Rotorua Speedway. It was such a cool experience and I'm greatful for the opportunity.
We were then meant to race at Huntly for the Hazelton memorial unfortunately it was rained out so we made the quick trip to Gisborne where we had some good results and going into the last heat we were 2nd on points and the Gisborne boys did a good job to hold the out of town cars up.
We headed up to Auckland for easter champs and had 3 good races with a decent field of cars.
Turf wars at Huntly Speedway was good fun, we managed to come away with an 8th and 5th in our group to qualify for the last race. We were selected in blue team which was captained by Corey Baker. The last race started off goood which James Marshall and I getting to the lead but unfortunately we lost too many cars towards the end of the race. I managed to come home in 3rd place in the final race.
The Sunday after Turf Wars we headed to Rotorua for Easter Champs, Unfortunately race one turn one we got a flat RF tyre. The other race was good and we really enjoyed the meeting.
We then headed to Auckland as a support class for the Superstock Teams Nationals. We had a good pretty good run that weekend.
Late April we were selected to go teams racing for the Waikato Raiders at the West Coast Teams Champs, Update to Follow.
A big thank you to my crew who have travelled about the country with me most weekends and always been there to support my racing.

Quick update with what we have been up to over the past 5 weeks, There has been a lot of rainouts recently. It was exciting to be named as the 6th driver for the Waikato Raiders. I ended up jumping in the 361h for a race at the NZ Stockcar teams which was good experience. The week after we jumped back into 97H at the NZ Superstock champs as a fill in class. There was a huge field of stockcars and we all had abit of fun on track, they ended up splitting the class to extend the program. We managed to bring home 2nd place in the last one and congrats to Luke Ross who got his first flag. The following week we headed up to Waikaraka Park for a run where we picked up 14th and two 4th places, overall I was really happy with the car. This weekend we head to Kihikihi Speedway for the NZGP. A big shout out to my crew who have been awesome all season.

Looking forward to getting on track tonight, Racing starts 4:30pm!
It been awhile between updates, We headed to the New Zealand Stockcar Champs at Auckland on the 28th & 29th of December. Unfortunately after the second heat of night one that was our meeting done due to motor issues.
I was lucky enough to be offered a skid in the 361H car of Clinton Cheetham at Huntly on the 30th of December, it was awesome to drive and a cool experience. A massive thanks to my crew who travelled over the summer holidays to keep me racing.
We then had a couple days off over new years spending time with the speedway family and friends. We decided that we would do a motor swap and head back to Auckland for the club night, Things went well and we moved forward in race one to only been rained out during race two.
We then headed off to Stratford Speedway for the North Island Champs, Starting 22nd moving up to finish 14th. Race 2 unfortunately we got stuck under another car and race 3 we got tangled resulting in a DNF.
To my sponsors and supporters without you this wouldnβt be possible. Hopefully we can get some meetings in over the next couple of weekends.

Two big weekends of teams racing for the Radars, On the 26th November we headed down to Palmy for the Teams Invasion meeting. We came up against Stratford where we learnt a lot and ended up coming away with 2nd place. Following that we came up against a strong Wellington young guns team where we also came away with 2nd in the race.
Last weekend we headed to Gisborne to represent the Radars, Its been awesome to get the opportunity to teams racing. It was a good experience to get three teams races down at Gisborne. We came away from the weekend with three wins as a team.
A big thank you has to go to my crew for all the hours they spend in the shed helping get the car ready for race weekends.
Thank you to our team sponsors Central Metals, JA Digital, The meat warehouse, Cheetsters Engineering, Customised Earthworks, North Waikato bins, Liftech Sim Sports, Cheetham Excavations and Waikato floor sanders.

We headed to Huntly speedway for opening night. Race one we started off grid position 1 where we grabbed the race win to only be relegated after the race. Race 2 we started 12th and managed to move forward to 2nd before getting spun out but managed to still finish 3rd. We started the feature off 24th making our way up to 4th and setting the fastest lap of the race.
We then fixed the car Sunday morning and hit the road to Meanee Speedway for their opening night. We came away with a 3rd, 12th and 16th at Meanee in a huge field of cars.

Looking forward to Huntly opening this weekend!
The 2021/22 season has begun. We made the trip down to Whanganui for their opening meeting a few weeks ago. We were excited to be there as we have never raced at that track before.
There was lots of learning to take away from the first race, may we add first corner. Not even one lap spun in that race. We ended up over on the side, what a way to open the season. The crew worked hard to get the car back up and running to head back out for the follow 2 races of the night finishing in the top 10 for both.
Massive thanks to my sponsors Cheetham Excavators, Cheets Engineering, Carters Tyres Te Puke, McFalls, Te Puke Service Centre and the rest of the crew.
More updates from this weekend to come.
