๐ Club Profile
Te Awamutu Marist Cricket Club was formed in 2015 and since then have played in the Waikato Valley B Grade Competition. Since forming they have been able to establish their home ground at Castleton Park in Te Awamutu, they have installed an artificial playing wicket, practice nets and built a club house all via local sponsorship and volunteer work. They look to play competitive cricket and enjoy a very entertaining social culture. Since forming they have been Chairman Trophy finalists 3 times unfortunately not being able to lift the trophy on any of these occasions. They currently contest another local club for a Challenge Cup Trophy, it has been played for 19 times over the past 8 seasons with Marist winning on 12 of those occasions. Marist Cricket Club would like to thank all of their sponsors over the past 8 seasons. Without them they would not be where they are today, special thanks to Flooring Xtra Te Awamutu who are their major sponsor.
The photo is of them winning the challenge cup in 2020 with nine players.

Been a bit slack of late, but there were three player milestones that were achieved in the last couple of weeks that need to be acknowledged.
Abhishek Merwade and Andy Taylor both played their 30th (Blazer) games vs Pirongia on the 22/01/22, while Marist did not get the win both Abi and Andy deserved to be recognised for their commitment over the years. well done lads!
Last weekend Marist were at home to (old mate) TA Sports and Darren Marsom clocked up his 50th game in his 50th year on this planet. It did not end up being the result Marist wanted as we lost by a couple of wickets, but at the end of the day it was about acknowledging a person who has dedicated a decent chunk of his life to the Marist club, both in rugby and cricket.
So well done Darren, Abhishek and Andy (howโs the face) lets create more memories going forward in this crazy covid/delta/omicron world.
FYI: Darren and Mark Cotes put on a partnership of 35, Darren 12 off 37 balls, Mark 51 off 50.
Ous ous.
