The B grade lads are collecting old car and truck batteries to recycle as a fundraiser for their trip to Whangarei in September.

If you have any batteries you wish to donate to this drive, you can either:

Another successful weekend of squash in Te Awamutu with our 2024 Open Tournament. Thank you to everyone that made it happen - first round markers, TCs, Dayna and Luke in kitchen, Shane and helpers behind the bar and Rach, Megan and Scott for the awesome dinner.

TE AWAMUTU OPEN - THIS WEEKEND

Our draws have just been released on iSquash and all entrants have been emailed details.

First round will be starting 5pm on Thursday night. Our kitchen and bar will be open throughout with lots of raffles fundraising for our Superchamps teams heading to Nationals next month.

NZ SECONDARY SCHOOLS

It came down to the wire, but the lads from Hamilton Boys’ got beaten in the final 3-2 by a strong Tauranga Boys’ College team. Well done to all the boys, coach Connor, teachers in support and supporters/family.

Fergus had a great tournament winning all five of his games. He was also named as second reserve in the Senior Boys team for the New Zealand Secondary Schools team for the Trans Tasman test.

Congratulations to Riley Noonan for being named number 1 seed in the Senior boys team too.

2024 NZSSS | Hutt City Squash 01/08/2024

NZ Secondary Schools is starting tomorrow in Lower Hutt. Good luck to Fergus part of the HBHS team who are number 2 seeds for the tournament.

Two other teams from Cambridge High and St Paul’s are also competing. Lots of familiar names amongst the three teams - good luck to you all.

Looks like it is going to be a massive night of squash tonight at Senior Club Ladder with 32 games scheduled, an open kitchen and raffles on offer.

Please remember to make sure you arrive on time for your game, keep warm ups and between game breaks to a minimum so that we can keep to time for those on the late shift.

Those keen on dinner at the club, a wee reminder of the menu courtesy of the F/J Grade Men's Superchamps team:
- Hot Chips ($3)
- Toasties ($3 for 1 filling, $3.50 for 2 fillings and $4 for 3 fillings)
- Burgers; Beef or Chicken ($7)

They will also be raffling off a Panasonic Portable Speaker (Valued at $599) donated by Vetora. $3 per ticket, or $5 for 2.

WAI/BOP MEN’S SERIES ONE DAY TOURNAMENT

The 20 players for our WAI/BOP Men’s Series Tournament have had a fantastic day of squash today. Thank you all again for coming out on a foggy Waikato morning.

Top spot was taken by Te Awamutu Mens A taking on Te Awamutu Mens B. Club mate v club mate. Great to see the mahi on court and the comaraderie off court.

An amazing achievement and shows the effort that he has been putting into his game.

Mark has come through our junior programme. He can now be found giving back and assisting with coaching our new group of juniors learning to love our sport.
