Bob's farewell tour Bob's classic stockcar build
1 step closer
Little bit quiet lately but there's been a fair bit of work going on in the sheds. Both of these are very close to being on track.
Wouldn't let me put both up but here's the 2nd project
A small sneak peek at what's close to being unveiled.
Take a ride with Graeme in the commodore for a few laps of waikaraka park
The problem rocker arm
Huntly international speedway had their opening meeting on Saturday and Graeme managed to get the 85H commodore over for a skid. First race he started on grid 7 and after 2 laps had worked his way to 2nd. A lack of patience after 3 or 4 laps caused him to end up finishing 3rd. Second race saw him starting off the back on grid 14 and finishing 9th. A rocker arm bolt that kept coming loose stopped him from starting the 3rd race. With the next meeting two weeks away he should have time to fix the engine issue and get the car painted. Next weekend should see Bob at Waharoa in the 65RV commodore for their practice.
Thanks to Baz Bularangi Motorbikes Rentals and Tours New Zealand for helping out with the shipping of the new engine parts. Hopefully the engine will be together and the car painted in the not to distant future, I'm getting excited to hear this one fire up.
Well the season is just around the corner and approaching fast. There will be a couple of new cars to unveil around November/December. The 2 commodores are pretty much ready to go and should be on track at first practice with Graeme running out of Huntly and Bob out of Waharoa.
Final meeting at Huntly international speedway tonight for Graeme in the 85H. The track was a bit on the greasy side which suits the commodore surprisingly well. Productions got 4 races tonight the commodore went well and didn't miss a beat probably the best meeting of the season. Once again thanks to the pit crew Erin Perrett Shawna Perrett-Dodd Deanna Dodd Brock Dodd. Next season will see Graeme and Bob peddling their commodres again and there's also something different to unveil.

Long time between posts but here's a quick update. Not a lot been happening Graeme raced at Huntly international speedway last night and finished with a 7th 2nd and 4th. Today Bob and Graeme heading to Waharoa speedway for a run. Bob had a challenging time in the first race but a few adjustments and things were better for the next 2. Graeme had a bit of a senior moment and didn't put the bonnet pin in before the last race and had his bonnet fly up at the start which put paid to his plans of trying to entertain the crowd backing the commodore in.

The result of Bob getting reacquainted with the concrete wall at Waihi Beach on Sunday
Dirtona 380 update. Graeme started the first heat on 13 and finished 11 2nd and 3rd heats he placed 4th and 5th which qualified him on grid 14 for the 20 lap final. With a challenging track that was actually quite good to drive on he made it to 11th when the flag dropped. Top 3 were Brent Hackett Vaughn Glidden and Dylan shearman
Been a bit of time between posts. Last night was the qualifying night for the production saloon dirtona 380 at Huntly speedway. Unfortunatel the rain came in a won the night after 3 races. Graeme did get out for one qualifying run he started grid 13 and had made his way to 6th when the reds came on and the meeting was called. Slight change of format for tonight but still have 3 qualifying heats and a 1 race 20 lap final

On Sunday Bob and Graeme took the commodores down to the Waihi Beach dirt track for a run. Bob needed some more seat time and was getting quicker and quicker. Graeme needed the run to see if he had stopped his car leaning out and popping at 3500 revs and no he hasn't got it fixed and wasn't able to use full throttle.
Couple of full on days but the old girl is ready to run at Huntly international speedway tonight
Well bugga that didn't go to plan. Graeme took the 85H down to Rotorua last night and to say he didn't have the best of times was an understatement. First race he was having an extremely hard to holding onto it and the engine was leaning out and had no power. Second race the handling was better but still was missing and popping. In the third he'd somewhat sorted the lean issue and the car was running a lot better until he had a rather heavy impact with a stationary car when he had nowhere to go.
All dressed up with nowhere to go, just waiting on the weather to play ball and all 3 cars will be on the track.
Almost finished just need to get the bolts for the wheel gates and little beast is finished
Well little beast still goes. Now to tidy everything up mount the battery and fuel tank find a bonnet and muffler and it should be good to go after another lick of paint.
Bob's 65 lives and breaths. Still some issues to work out with the fuel pump and throttle cable but its got a heart
The 85H competed in Huntly international speedway's opening meeting last night. It was a bit of a mixed bag from Graeme who finished 9th from p9 in the first 2nd from p1 and 9th from p15. No dents or damage and the car feels strong and is handling a fair bit better than last season. And on a side note was pretty cool having a couple of kids wanting to get photos sitting in the car before the meeting started. If you are in the pits with the kids and they want to jump in for a photo I won't be to far away.

Last practice at Huntly done and dusted for Graeme's 85H commodore. The changes in the off season are taking him a little bit to get use to but there is a definite improvement in the car. Now a big push to get the other 2 cars ready for Waharoa in a couple of weeks.

Before it got dirty
Graeme managed to get the 85H over for a practice at Huntly today was a bit rusty but didn't whack it around
85H is back up and running. Been a few late nights getting it from a bare block on a engine stand to back in the car running. The old girl just needs a new paint job and sponsorship stickers and its ready for the season.
