The Nugget Multisport Festival Waihi & Waihi Beach

Important Announcement:
Nugget Multisport Festival 2024

Dear Nugget Tribe

We regret to inform you that the Nugget Multisport Festival scheduled for May 2024 will not be going ahead.

Due to unresolvable issues regarding our Department of Conservation concession and ongoing Treaty of Waitangi settlement processes over the Orokawa Reserve area, we have been unable to re-secure a concession in time for the 2024 event.

The concession covers the entire Waihi Beach to Homunga Bay section of the Full Nugget, Half Nugget and 24 km run events.

After extensive efforts to resolve these matters, it has become clear that we are unable to proceed with the 2024 event. The decision to cancel was not made lightly, and we understand the disappointment this news will bring to you as a valued participant.

The challenges we are facing are beyond our control, and we sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. Our team is committed to ensuring the safety, integrity, and compliance of our events, and unfortunately, the current circumstances prevent us from meeting these standards for 2024.

We understand that you have been looking forward to participating in this event, and we share your disappointment. Our team is already working on addressing the issues at hand to ensure the event's future from 2025 and beyond. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work through this.

We would like to express our gratitude for your ongoing support and enthusiasm for the Nugget Multisport Festival. We remain committed to delivering exceptional events, and we look forward to your participation in our future endeavours.

Once again, we apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding.

Entries are rolling in and the course is looking very exciting. We have a great location we haven't been to for a long time so will be some fresh terrain to explore!

Over the last couple of weeks we've been busy distributing donations to various groups and charities around town. These donations are made up of funds raised from the 2023 Nugget MultiSport Festival back in May.
