Parkhill Stables Gypsys
Pure and Partbred Gypsy Horses based in Waipukurau.Hawkesbay,.New Zealand. Home of purebred Stallion,
Archer, one of Jamesys sons.
Looking more and more like his Dad every day.
I'm very excited to finally meet him this weekend.
I pulled out some Inhand gear that had been sitting untounced for 8 or so years and decided to give them a clean up with BeeKind oil.
They've come up lovely and soft and all ready for Parkhill Thomas to begin his showing career.
A pony size Inhand bridle, a cob size Inhand bridle and an Inhand lead so I'm all set to go. Bee Kind and Co.
Jamesy kids, Ruby and Aura out and about today with their owners Charlotte and Jaimee doing a bit of dressage.
I love how Parkhill kids can turn their hooves at all kinds of disciplines. :)
Parkhill Vesper Lynd out and about at her first Show of 2024.
Beautifully turned out as usual by her owner Alana.
I look forward to catching up with them next week at The Nationals in Danniverke.
Happy to say that James & Trinkets lovely foal is now doing well after having a rocky start and spending her first night with the Vets.
After a worrying night for her owner Lina, she
finally started drinking after they initially thought she was a dummy foal.
They have called her the beautiful name, Magnolia.
Day 1 of Angel's fitness program while AJ watches on.
Congratulations Lina on the birth of your purebred filly.
Out of Trinket and by James.
As one year ends and the next one begins, it's the time for decisions & new beginnings.
So far our foaling season has been filled with boys.
Unfortunately being a small breeding Stud, we sadly can't keep them all.
After discussions thismorning, we are happy to announce that Thomas will be retained and will be our future Stallion.
I am in the process of registering him and after working so hard over the years to promote our Stud with James, we are finally going to have a Stallion standing that carries the Parkhill name.
As much as we would've liked to have stood a c**t by James, this gives the opportunity to Jamesy filly owners to bring any of their Jamesy girls to Thomas when he's ready.
In my eyes, James was one in a million and can never be replaced, but Thomas is a new beginning and not being related to James, it will stop me from comparing the two.
Which brings me to AJ who has quite the following already.
We are thrilled to say that he will be staying locally and will be out competing with his brothers and sisters.
His new Mum is everything that we would want for him and she fell in love with him and felt a bond from the moment she saw him.
I will let her do the big announcement when she's ready.
Lexis new foal that was born last night now also has a new Mum in Di Reid.
We have called him Jimmy.
His registered name will be Parkhill James Bond 007 which is a tribute to his Dad James, and his Grandfather, 007 from the UK.
The name also holds a significant meaning for Di with family name connections.
With one more foal yet to be born maybe Willow might break the c**t run and give us a filly.
We shall see in March.
If she gives us a c**t, then we will keep a spot open for a future James filly to join the herd so we can keep his bloodlines going that way.
It would be fantastic if we ended up buying back a filly that we bred, but will cross that bridge when we come to it.
I want to take this opportunity to thank all the owners of Parkhill "kids" that keep in touch and keep us updated on what they've been doing with their hairy beasties.
Also a massive thankyou to the local Parkhill Family who compete their Jamesy kids and support each other at Shows.
It makes me very proud to see how much time & effort that you've put into them and the enjoyment they bring you.
I can't explain how happy it makes me to see these ponies that I watched being born, to be competing side by side in the Show Ring.
Happy New Year to everyone that follows our page and that enjoys watching our adventures here at Parkhill Stables.
We wish you health & happiness as 2023 draws to a close.
I was going to say wealth instead of health but as anyone that owns a pony or horse knows that our equine children will always keep our bank account empty one way or another!!
Kindest Regards
Shani and Darren
Xox
Born at 10.20pm, December 29th 2023
The one and only c**t foal out of Lexi and by James.
A stress free birth and both Mum and C**t are doing great.
Hes running around already testing out his legs and giving Lexi a run for her money.
The herd could see them when she took him near the fenceline and what hours of entertainment we are going to have when the 3 boys are running around and playing.
He has small dots and a good patch of them in one area so will see as he grows and test him to see if hes homozygous when I send his hair sample away to Massey so I can register him.
His new owner got to watch his arrival via the cameras which made his birth even more special.
Im very excited for what the future will hold for them both in the Show Ring.
One more foal to go!
Willow isnt due until March with our bonus James baby so we can have a little break from foal watch for a bit and enjoy the boys.
Congratulations Tracey on the arrival of her Jamesy filly last night.
Such a lovely Christmas present!
Thankyou for getting in touch and the photos.
Very much appreciated :)
Happy Birthday Bling!
Thanks for giving us Thomas and being a terrific Mum.
Merry Christmas to Everyone from Myself & Darren and the hairy herd here at Parkhill Stables.
We hope you have a great day and all the best for the New Year.
For those who own Jamesy kids, give them a big hug from me :)
Some lovely photos sent to me of Parkhill Mangatarata aka Tara.
She's by James and out of Lillymay.
If shes anything like her Dam, she will be a nice and solid.
Thankyou Sophie for this pic of her Jamesy kid.
Out of a tb/wb mare.
Congratulations to all of Jamesys kids who competed over the weekend at Taupo.
Your owners had you all looking fabulous.
Good Luck to all the Jamesy kids and their owners competing at the North Island Gypsy Show tomorrow in Taupo.
Very happy with our seasons babies so far.
We have two more to go then that's us done for a few seasons to focus on Showing.
There's a few outside mares to give birth as well, then unfortunately that will be the end of Jamesys run.
If all goes well, he has Sired 56 kids.
To date, 27 Boys & 25 Girls.
Thankyou Judy for this video of the girls doing some arena work.
Maisey is getting so big.
(Judy has 3 James daughters) :)
Congratulations Victoria & Parkhill Silas on a very successful day.
I moved Willow, Angel and AJ into a new paddock thismorning.
AJ is such a character. He's going to be a bundle of muscle.
I see so much of James in him.
The way he arches his neck when he canters and how he stands square.
He's got Angel's sass but Jamesys brain.
Thankyou Jewelz for sending me these pics of Jamesys new Grandson.
He looks lovely and Gem certainly has James' face :)
Looks like Mum and Bubs are doing great.
