Meet our lowland prodigy hailing from Sri Lanka's way down south, bringing to the table its unique flavour and liquor - Galle District OP 1
This OP (Orange Pekoe) grade tea is grown on gardens near the ancient city of Galle.

It is clean, wiry and black in appearance and its infusion reveals a coppery hue and a bright, pleasingly gentle tea. Deep golden orange in the cup, the tea has a malty note and a lightly earthy finish. A true testament to how great Ceylon Tea doesn't always have to be from the highlands. All traditional tea made in Sri Lanka is perfect in their own way, with their own distinctive personality, terroir and taste.

A Teainspired Journey Through Sri Lanka - A lovingly curated culinary experience that took guests on a flavourful trip through Sri Lanka, exploring the land through an exquisite interplay of tea and food. This unique event brought the essence of the pearl of the orient to New Zealand, offering an unforgettable journey of taste and tradition.

Hosted by Dilmah Chairman and Teamaker, Dilhan C. Fernando and his son, Dilmah Gen3's Amrit J. Fernando, the event showcased the true tea-inspired way of pairing exquisite dishes with excellent single-origin Ceylon tea. Guests were guided through a meticulously planned menu that highlighted the rich and diverse culinary heritage of Sri Lanka.

For fans of Sri Lankan cuisine, those longing for a taste of home, or individuals completely new to these delightful flavors, the event provided the perfect opportunity to experience the full spectrum of Sri Lanka’s gastronomic wonders. Each individual course was thoughtfully themed after an iconic beachfront, featuring a hero dish with a unique story to tell.
