Samantha Matthews is a rose farmer and fine arts photographer, born in Whanganui to parents Bob and Cath Matthews, owners of Matthews Nurseries Ltd

Samantha is assistant manager for the family business Matthews Nurseries Ltd. She is involved in all aspects of the diverse rose farm started by her grandparents in 1947, including the international award-winning hybridizing programme established by her father Bob Matthews. Samantha is also involved in the development of the ‘My Rose Collection’ range and brand-new rose cultivars.

‘Emperor’ is the crowning glory of this years Magnolia trees. It is perfect as a garden feature tree, but also wonderful in containers on the terrace. Plant in moist free draining, fertile soils with full sun for at least half the day. Winter hardy to -15 ºC. Deciduous. Can grow to around 5m x 3.5m.
