Our vision is to see people and communities empowered, transformed, and experiencing fullness of life. Our three key areas of focus are Housing, Food Support and Volunteering. Last night, Trent Dalton the brilliant mind behind Boy Swallows Universe and All Our Shimmering Skies, took the stage to discuss his new novel, Lola in the Mirror. Joined by Brent McKenzie this special fundraiser helped raise funds for the Wellington City Mission's Whakamaru project.

Our Story
The Mission prides itself on being open to anyone who needs assistance, regardless of religious belief, ethnicity or social background, and our range of programmes encourage participants to identify and address underlying problems, creating positive outcomes.
The Mission is a Charitable Trust affiliated to the Anglican Church, beginning in 1904 when it was part of St. Peter’s Church. In 1928 an Act of Parliament established The Wellington City Mission as a separate entity.
The Mission’s vital services assist people in Greater Wellington communities across the age spectrum - from young families to seniors.
Mission for Families:
Early intervention for families through advocacy, education and guidance, and supporting families to better manage their own circumstances.
Mission for Youth:
Providing a comprehensive Alternative Education programme for youth, who have disengaged or been excluded from mainstream schools.
Mission for Independence:
Guiding, equipping and enabling financially disadvantaged and unemployed people towards independence and self-management.
Mission for Seniors:
Enhancing the quality of life, dignity and respect for older people with health, disability or social isolation issues.
Kemp Home & Hospital
An 81-bed facility offering both rest home and hospital level care, for residents who require permanent or short-term care.
