Join us on 20th November, 18th December, 15th January, 12th February, 19th March and/or 16th April for Wellington's favourite 10km (and 5km) road race!

Going round Wellington's beautiful waterfront, the Honest 10 is the best opportunity to test your 5km and 10km fitness. More details in our event pages.

The Honest 10 is back for the winter season! With the same fire course around Welly's beautiful waterfront, the best pace makers in the game and absolutely accurate measurements - this is a great chance to crack your 10km or 5km pb this year!

Winter season dates:

- 12 June 2022*
- 10 July 2022*
- 21 August 2022
- 18 September 2022
- 16 October 2022

*Note, these are the second Sunday of the month, as opposed to the usual third Sunday of the month.

Kia ora e te whanau! Thanks so much for coming along and testing your fitness around Welly's beautiful waterfront this morning - what awesome conditions to do it! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️🏃

We had a couple pieces of lost property left behind today - one black, and one grey. If they are yours, please email [email protected] and we will arrange to get these items returned to you!! ☀️

We were unable to secure enough personnel to run the Honest 10 this coming Sunday so the next event will be on 20th March as scheduled. Anyone who pre-registered for last Sunday's event will automatically be entered for the 20th March run. If you have paid and would prefer a refund, please email your account details to us and we'll get that sorted. See you in a month!

***TOMORROW'S HONEST 10 POSTPONED***
Unfortunately due to the severe gale wind forecast for tomorrow morning, the race organisers have made the decision to postpone tomorrow's edition of the Honest 10.

If you have pre-registered and pre-paid for tomorrow's race, and would like a refund please email [email protected] with your bank account details so the refund can be processed. Alternatively, your race entry fee can rollover to the next edition of the Honest 10 - please also email [email protected] if this is your preference.

The race organisers are yet to decide whether tomorrow's Honest 10 is to shift to next Sunday 20 February 2022 (now that Round the Bays has been cancelled) or to cancel (in which case the March Honest 10 on 20 March 2022 will be the next edition). This decision will be announced by this page as soon as practicable after it is made.

***UPDATE ON THIS SUNDAY'S HONEST 10***

At this stage we still plan on running the Honest 10 as planned on Sunday. Just a pre-warning that if tomorrow (Saturday) evening's forecast predicts severe gale force winds for Sunday morning, we will be forced to cancel this month's race for the safety of our competitors (given the coastal nature of the course). We will go ahead if it's safe despite the heavy rain forecast.

If the race is cancelled and you have already paid, you have the option of transferring your entry to next month's race or getting a refund (please send your bank account details to our email if you elect a refund).

Fingers crossed we can get out there and have you all race!

~~Honest 10 - Summer Series 2021/2022~~

We are back for another 6 a w e s o m e instalments of Welly's favourite 10km for the Honest 10 summer series! ☀️🔥

Starting this Nov to April next year, our friendly team will be hosting our fast & fun monthly 10k, with all the usual perks including free photos, snack at the finish and online results! 🥇

On a fast course, with accurate measurements and pacers from 40min to 60min, the Honest 10 is your best shot of crushing your road 10k pb this summer! 🏃‍♀️🏃🏃‍♂️

As with our last two races, we will have the usual COVID-19 protocols in place, so make sure you check the details of that before heading along! 💪🤩

Thanks to everyone who braved the Wellington wind and showed up to race on Sunday! 💯

*** HONEST 10 OCTOBER EDITION - COVID UPDATE ***

This month's Honest 10 will go ahead on Sunday the 17th of October 2021 (providing Wellington stays at Alert Level 2 or lower) with a maximum of 100 participants on a 'first signed up, first in' basis.

We will let you know on our page if we reach 100 and need to close entries.

Please note the extra protocol requirements at the bottom of this post.

As numbers will be restricted to 100 entrants on a 'first sign up, first in' basis, we encourage you to pre-register for this month's race by emailing the following details to [email protected]! 🙂

- Prepay Y or N

Options for payment are to either pay cash on the day (as per usual) or prepay online.

If you select "Y" for Prepay when you register via email, you will be emailed back your 'race number'. Please use internet banking to transfer your $10 entry fee (or $5 for 5k) to WHAC’s ASB account (12-3493-0058553-00), using H10 and your race number for the reference. Eg, if your race number is 15 put "H10 15" so we can tick you off as having paid.

EXTRA LEVEL 2 REQUIREMENTS:
You must provide your email or phone number on entry.
You must scan the QR code on the day.
Maintain social distancing and wear a mask at registration (there will a separate table for those who pre-register by email)
Bring your own water bottle as no drinks will be provided. Bottles can be refilled at the Freyberg pool drink fountain.

Only come to the start line for the race briefing. We will endeavour to keep you in lines according to your pace using the seaward side of the footpath. Please do not line up across the whole footpath.

In courtesy to other footpath users, we also strongly encourage using a buff or glove if you need to blow your nose clean mid-run. Paper towels can last a marathon without disintegrating so are a good option.

We'll still be there to take your amazing finishing photos though!!!
Instead of bananas there will be muesli bars at the finish.
If you'd like to start early (eg 8:15ish), just let us know when you register.

In un-WHAC style we ask that you don't hang around afterwards as there will be lots of other Wellingtonians out enjoying the waterfront and we don't want to congregate in a busy area at this time. Let's save that for when we're in Alert Level 1 🙂

This month's Honest 10 will go ahead this Sunday (19 September 2021) providing Wellington stays at AL2 or lower. However, there will be a few extra requirements to make it extra safe:

(1) You will be required to scan the QR code and/or provide your email & phone number on entry.
(2) Numbers will be restricted to 100 on a 'first sign up, first in' basis.

For those who don't pre-register, please be kind to others when signing up on the day by maintaining social distancing and wearing a mask until you have been given your race number.
