Previous programmes have been filled to the brim with around 200 acts comprising musicians, dancers, buskers, circus performers, community groups, paraders, site activators and much more. We are again aiming to serve a huge local lineup! Please pass on this on to friends and whānau - we will consider everything!

Next up we have the Newtown New World Community Stage located at the heart of the festival – slap bang in the middle of all the action – on the corner of Riddiford and Constable streets.
This stage is all about showcasing the people that enrich our local community and this year it features Move It Danceworks, JDK, Hawaiian Dance Wellington, Sugarfoot Stomp, Wellington Fire And Flow Club, SING! Community Choir, BTD Bi***es, ODA Dance Studio, Olin Yoliztli & Flying Jaranas, Ssendam Rawkustra, Iskra, Hoot'n'Annies, and Wellington Batucada.

With only a week to go we thought it was about time to introduce one of our headliners! Get ready for an unforgettable performance as the legendary Julia Deans take the stage at Newtown Fest 2023!
With a musical career spanning over two decades, Julia Deans has established herself as one of New Zealand's most talented and respected musicians. As the lead vocalist of the alternative rock band Fur Patrol, she created timeless classics such as "Lydia" and "Andrew". Her solo work, including her debut album "Modern Fables", showcases her raw talent as a singer-songwriter and her ability to captivate audiences with her soulful voice and introspective lyrics.
Julia Deans is known for her dynamic live performances, delivering powerful and emotional renditions of her songs. She is a true performer and always leaves her audiences in awe. This is a show you won't want to miss, so make sure you are at the South Stage at 1:55pm next Sunday!

Our volunteers do four hour shifts on the festival day and help us by guiding stallholders and their vehicles, problem-solving, supporting the public, caring for the space and generally helping us make this amazing Wellington icon run smoothly!

After a covid-enforced hiatus, the FERG ST. stage returns! Prepare to indulge on a sonic palette drawing from all facets of alternative and punk music. All thanks to Audio Progress and sponsored by Elbowdrop and Creative Sounds Society.
Located on Ferguson St, this year the stage features TOOMS, Carb On Carb, Landlords, Feildings Best Dancers, Welcomer, Crying Club, Unlawful Arise and canadian tuxedo.
