Check out our iconic yellow sofa. It was donated by our friends Made by Maranga. We’ve given it a second life and it’s become a permanent feature of the gallery. We love sitting and chatting on the sofa. Currently it’s surrounded by beautiful children’s artworks for peace. Come and have a seat with us.

We had a wonderful day at the gallery today, welcoming a flurry of guests, many of which visited Whare Soka Buddha. Among them were our Wellington Mayor, a delegation from Japan and Oceania, and SGI members from all over Aotearoa, all here to celebrate 60 years of SGI’s peace movement in Oceania. Mayor Tory shared some lovely words about our Tūmanako Children’s Art for Peace exhibition that’s currently on display, highlighting the significance of ‘tamariki, art, and peace.’ It’s a new dawn in many ways.
