2023 has been a roller-coaster of a ride, with a huge array of highs and lows. In reflecting on all that happened I'm choosing to focus on the positivity. We've witnessed strength through adversity post Cyclone Gabrielle - a hospo community spirit that came out and supported in ways that brought tears to the eyes. We've made new and wonderful friends and had incredible visitors from as far away as South Africa. We've started growing new brands and gaining new clients. We can't wait to see what 2024 will bring. We raise a glass to you all and wish you the happiest of New Years. Go well, be safe, have fun and tell all of those people close to you that you love and care for them!

Introducing The Wrekin Vineyard

In late May Jeannine and Andrew were lucky enough to be invited to visit The Wrekin Vineyard. Tucked away at the end of a road in the Fairhall downs region, an unassuming driveway leads to one of the most breath-taking sub valleys and vineyards one could ever hope to visit. So impeccably is it planted and farmed, with its own unique terroir that were it by some magic to be transported to France it would surely obtain Grand Cru status.

After touring the vineyard and winery under the guidance of viticulturist extraordinaire Jeremy Hyland, we sat down at the homestead with father and daughter - Anna and Andrew Johns and also the tour de force that is winemaker Hätsch Kalberer.

Around the homestead table we tasted Pinot Noir from 2014, right through to 2021 (with the exception of 2017, where no wine was produced under the Wrekin label) as well as some of their stunning Chardonnay and Chenin Blanc (produced in the tiniest of quantities)

As we embark on this journey together, we look forward to sharing the extraordinary wines of Wrekin Vineyards. Stay tuned for tasting dates and events. We raise a glass to this new partnership, celebrating the magic that unfolds when passion, innovation and nature converge in a bottle of truly exceptional wine!

Please feel free to reach out to us for more information, pricing or to request a tasting.

We're planning launch events in Wellington, Auckland and Christchurch. If you would like to be kept abreast of the event in your city, please send us your expression of interest.

Warmest Regards,
The Invisible Team

Tried Cambridge Road's Rosso yet?!
If not you should have. We’re usually pretty loose and creative when it comes to tasting notes but the “official” ones on this go something like this:

“This edition of Rosso is cut purely from Hawkes Bay grown Syrah. Designed for relaxed Summer drinking, chill and enjoy with light Summer fare.
We've taken a major component and picked it early for freshness and modest alcohol, then given it a very short soak with skins so as to moderate tannin extraction.
The resulting wine is fresh and crunchy as desired with a feel reminiscent of freshly picked berries.
Best enjoyed with good food and people…and followed by Scorpion Tequila Shots .squalor at 2pm…ok maybe that last part wasn’t in the tasting notes…

Say hello to Rachael! Officially the newest member of the Invisible family!

You know how these things happen. You get randomly chatting at a bar in Wellington on a Tuesday arvo and next thing you know you all have some crazy ideas on how you can all work together.
Rachael has a stacked resumé as far as the booze trade. She’s worked for the big boys at Lion, worked with the other independent big boys from Wellington (you know the ones that rhyme with Parage Groject) and to top that all off she also worked on the glam side of booze running ranging, pricing and promo’s for Foodies in the South - the gal has it all!
Just recently she went out on her own founding to wave the flag for some of the amazing brands doing cool things down her way.
Based out of Christchurch, Rachael will be working within our beer portfolio from Nelly to Bluff.
We can’t wait to see what this partnership can bring for all of our awesome folk in the South. So keep an eye, and ear and a full glass ready to welcome her into the midst.

We work with some pretty incredible folks at Invisible. And this guy 👆…this guy is definitely
one of them. Andy recently spent some time with our 'ol mate Steve Bennett at his office up
in Auckland where they talked over some drops fresh off the water…
Steve is one of 15 Masters of Wine in NZ and was the world youngest MW when he passed
the exam in ’94 at the age of 25. That’s no small feat.
He used his wine super powers for the greater good founding Mucho Gusto Wine Co. (when
saying Mucho Gusto, we say it’s mandatory to use the "🤌" gesture…)
Specialising in Spanish, French and Italian imports, Steve brings in some of the most
incredible value wines from around the world that hit well above their weight.

Take Patria Chica Vino De Pago 2020 pictured here.
WTF is a VINO DE PAGO you ask?? It’s only THE highest quality rating a Spanish wine can
receive. In fact, there’s only 20 of them to date and this bad boy is the ONLY one produced
in Aragon. It’s a sexy blend of Tempranillo, Garnacha, Merlot and Cab Sauv and if all of that
wasn’t enough for you – it’s also Organic. Oh, and did we mention the price….well
yeah….we did say Steve brings in some of the best value gear around. At under $20 trade
there’s really nothing to stop you ranging this.

🚨 For the awesome folk we work with up in Auckland, this post is for you 🚨
Recently we teamed up with these legends at The Beer Fridge in Auckland. Wtf does that mean? It means kegs from all of our amazing brands to those in the wider Auckland region NEXT DAY.
Dan from .nz is an old beer mate of Andy’s so it seemed only right to reach out and join forces to provide our Auckland customers he best service possible.
If you’re in Auckland and need some fresh keggo bizzo, get in touch asap!

We had the pleasure of showing the one and only from through our neck of the woods this week.
It was extremely special (and fun!) having such an amazing wealth of knowledge when it comes to the beautiful Kappzicht range and South African wines in general in our midst. Angela. You rock ❤️
Thanks so much for making the trip over. Thanks to all that came out and tried and tasted. And of course thank you to Lance at for letting us take over the cellar door for an afternoon.

A huge thank you to all who came out to on Monday night to help fundraise for Cyclone recovery.
and his team of volunteers put on a spectacular night raising over $4,000 for the cause.
Everything from the produce to the staffs time was donated to ensure every dollar possible went to Phil and the family.
If you couldn’t make it on the night, we will be launching a silent auction in the coming days. Keep your eyes peeled for details.
Massive aroha to all involved and of course to the extended Barber family. We love you all.

100% of revenue from the night will be donated.
3 course set menu for $50 per person (or more if you choose) made up of veg from our garden and foraged ingredients, drinks available to purchase on the night.

As we say goodbye to 2022 we look back on the year that was. It was truly a beautiful one.
Thank you to each and every one of you in whatever way you connected with us. We love you all and can’t wait to see what the new year brings us (and you). It’s going to be the biggest yet.

We hope your world is full and happy right now as the year comes to a close.
As the ol Dad joke comes into reality, “we’ll see you next year!”
*cue knee slap and look about the room for awkward laughs…*
Also apologies for any typos…we’re celebrating and our post reflects our current (and appropriate) state of mind right now…

24/12/2022

Merry Christmas all of you beautiful people!
A huge thank you to each and every one of you who have been part of our journey in 2022. It was a doozy and we can’t wait to see what ‘23 has to offer.
To everyone who shared a laugh, a glass, got a couple bottles here and there or a couple of pallets, we love each and every one of you and wish you a very Merry Christmas and a happy new year.
Over the silly season we hope your heart, belly and (most importantly) glass always be full.
is taking a well deserved break over the “in between” bit between Chrissy and New Years, but Andy will be in the ground in Welly for all your “oh sh*t I forgot to order X…” needs.
Our mates at , and will all be delivering during this period so give us a shout if you need the goods!

PS-thanks to Santa we were able to pop a couple bottles for our Team Photo. This is definitely not a photoshopped image at all…

Citizens, despite our name, we're not all about beer... 🍷

We've got a quirky little wine list full of delicious products made by some fantastic local producers. 💗

In fact it just so happens that we've gone and added a couple of fresh new wines for you to come in and try - just in time for the sunny season. ☀️

Thought we were stopping there?! Heeeeeell no buddy. The next in our lineup of is the one and only
To say we’re excited to be rolling with them in the North Island is an understatement.
We think Andy summed this up best when he said “they’re Metal AF. Sci Fi AF, and their beers are tasty AF. It honestly feels like the brand was custom made for me haha”
Not to mention when we met with .matt, , and Beer Jesus himself we felt right at home like we’d known them for years. I guess the proof was in the pudding when what was supposed to be a 1 hour meeting turned into a 7 hour one…thanks for the hospitality team!
Honestly if you haven’t had their beers yet, you must be living under a rock. But no shade, we’re hear to help!
With this awesome team onboard we’ll be very very busy. So I’m sure we’ll be seeing you soon with some of their tasty tasty beverages!
🍻 💀 🤘

🎵 “Hey Alexa?! Play Peter Bjorn and John: Young Folks!” 🎵
We don’t believe that’s theme song, but maybe it should be 🤔
And these lovely folks are our next
Making “village craft” beer (as they call it) in the heart of they’ve become known for their beers truly hitting the spot after a long, hard day.
A share of their profits also go to the Karen Louisa Foundation helping fund treatments and research for advanced breast cancer. Now that is a cause we’re proud to now be a part of and help support.
Their brewery also shares a space with their inner city bar and restaurant: The Fermentery. Serving up delicious food, beer and wine (trust us, we know 😉) it’s a great spot to visit. Hit ‘em up. It’s pretty easy to find. It’s the big lovely building on the corner of Taranaki and Ghuznee St’s.
Some of our favourites are their Table Beer named Bedevere (made in collab with their mates ) and their Strawberry Sour. Fresh out of the tanks today in fact!!!

Next in the is the one and only
Christopher and Zeelandt just celebrated their 10th birthday (Happy Birthday ZB!!! Double digits!)
We've worked with Christophers brother, Phil Petane Wines for a long time and have always admired Zeelandt's brewing style from afar. Now it's not so afar!
Christopher is a truly traditional brewer with every beer recipe beginning with the when, where, why and who of that particular style. It's true beer craftsmanship at it's finest and we're here for it. Big time.
If you haven't had Zeelandt beers before, we'll make sure to get them to a tap or fridge near you. Or if you're travelling through the Hawkes Bay you can drop by their new taproom Cone & Flower - Garden Bar in Esk Valley. Well worth the trip. Great beer. Great wine. Amazing food and scenery. Literally nothing can go wrong. Trust us. We're professionals... 😉

We’re proud to present our first into the fold…drum roll please…(jokes, you’ve already seen the pic!) it’s the incredible
These local legends have been carving out a name for themselves in Wellington for 5 years now, earning themselves a solid reputation for solid classics as well as fun, experimental beers, being the nicest folks around and their love of groovy synth-pop-techno. We couldn’t be more happy to have Dean and Kerry as part of the Invisible family and are humbled they have entrusted us with their amazing wares.
Watch this space (sick of that saying yet?!) for some exciting times ahead with us bringing the brews to Welly and beyond.
