Having a cheeky gin while review planning. This is the Autumn 2022 Juno Gin seasonal gin. It's a pity its sold out because its quite delightful with its kelp, flax seed and lime blossom. Désolé, pas désolé!
Anywhooooo. We're so close to 100 subscribers on our YouTube channel. When we hit that mark we'll release our last blooper real. It's embarrassing and maybe career limiting, but what's life without a few risks and a whole lot of fun. Head to our Malkat Gin channel on YouTube and hit that subscribe to see just how idiotic we are after a few too many sips. https://youtube.com/?si=WH_eYb9COsFc0mhO

Here's a little... or a lot ... of something to wet our whistles. To be reviewed soon, including a lesson learned 😫🤣. Any guesses?
Episode 98 - Bluff Distillery London Dry Gin
The Bluff Distillery Company is a new distillery and we're lucky enough to get a bottle from their first batch. I was sitting here thinking about what to write for our intro to this gin review, and realised this gin may actually be the most southern gin you can get in the world... unless there's a gin distillery on Stewart Island or the Antarctic. Perhaps the scientists that spend months there have a little still going. Who knows what they do to warm the cockles of their hearts. (This is a little insight into how my brain sails away on a long, lazy adventure before it lands at the unplanned destination. Also, why there's so many open tabs on my laptop.)
If you're looking for a shiny pretty glass bottle (the bottle is a stunner) try our lovely friends at Moore Wilson's
Nice work The Bluff Distillery Company!
Don't forget to give us some ideas for episode 100...... (nothing but crickets so far).
A short plug for our channel. This is our 98th episode! We've also now got 98 Subscribers on YouTube! If you're not one of them yet, why not head to our Malkat Gin YouTube channel and ring that freakin bell :) You'll get your algorithms thirsty. Thanks a heap.
Episode 97 - National Distilling Company Adorn Beauty Gin & Adorn Beauty Rosé Gin
The video title is a mouthful, and so are the flavours. For your viewing pleasure, we review two gins in one episode. Produced by the National Distilling Company in Napier, these gins share the same base botanicals, but one has the flavour turned up a notch with more rose flavour and beautiful colour. We've tried gins with rose and rosehip before; they can be hit-and-miss. So we were intrigued to know if these talented distillers had produced a winner.
This gin also profiles the artwork of Wellington-based artist Sarah Albisser. You can also buy this as a print with hand-laid gold foil. In her words, it's about the transformation of the beauty and power of the female presence. Once we feel united within and accept who we really are, our natural beauty is able to shine and manifest. The image is set in motion and gives life as we keep changing and evolving to become our best self.
We're only two episodes away from our 100th, and we'd love to hear what you'd like us to do or cover. Do you have some burning questions you'd like us to answer? Please pop your questions or ideas in the comments so we can flesh out some banging content.

A little teaser of what's to come. Batch 001 Bluff London Dry from Bluff Distillery. The lid won't stay in. At 45% ABV it might not need to. Loving the sea bouy inspired bottle. 💙 NZ gins.

Episode 96 - London Hill London Dry Gin
After a few months of silence, we're back with our review of a classic London Dry. There's nothing like a simple, clean, classic gin to pair with cocktails. No fancy florals or heavy spices. Simple. Clean. What you expect a gin to be. So here are our thoughts on London Hill. And we don't mean the singer, who I didn't know existed until researching the name online.
London Hill is owned by Ian Macleod Distillers, and they're not in London.

Episode 95 - Greytown Distilling Company's Stationmaster Gin and Tw**d Gin review
We recently went to Greytown for lunch at the White Swan Hotel and stumbled upon Blackwell & Sons, which houses the Greytown Distilling Company's (GDC) tasting booth. GDC offers a variety of gins that cater to different tastes. So, even if you're not a gin expert, it's worth visiting to find the gin that suits your palate.
Although we found more than one gin we liked, we had to restrain ourselves due to the aftermath of Christmas. However, now that it's March, all bets are off. In this gin review, we tried their Stationmaster and Tw**d gin and discussed what's coming up for GDC.
Help our egos, not our livers, by subscribing to our YouTube channel and liking our page. Thanks!

Episode 94: Papa Salt Coastal Gin
Papa Salt Coastal Gin hails from beautiful Byron Bay in the far North of New South Wales, Australia. In fact, it's far closer to Brisbane than Sydney. And it's here that five friends started their journey into creating this savoury gin, and one of those friends happens to be Barbie... I mean Margot Robbie. Hi Barbie! Anyway, back to the gin. They say they've produced a gin that can be served straight, with soda or tonic, or in a classic martini. Well, can it? We put it to the test to see if it's 'Kenough'. Sorry, Mal. I couldn't help myself.

Well, hello there... or should we say gidday mate?!
Here's a little beauty from Byron Bay, Australia. Made by a group of 5 friends, Papa Salt is a refreshing, savoury coastal gin. Stay tuned for our full review in episode 94. .nz

Episode 86 - Darnley's Smoke & Zest Gin
We continue to delve into the back of our gin collection. This review is of a Scottish gin we were gifted for Christmas two or three years ago. Darnley's Smoke & Zest Gin is from their Cottage Series, and as the name suggests, it's smokey and zesty! Although it's a limited series, you can still get this online or in stores that carry a good range of gins.
We've been having a good crack at getting through our list, but if there's a gin we've not reviewed yet you'd like to see, let us know in the comments. And as always please like, share, follow and subscribe! Thank you :)
