What a spread... I needed to hear this today! Sometimes you need a reminder.. even if last week you didn't 🥰

I'm not sure about you, but this week has felt really emotional. I'm not sure if it is the fact I've been mauiui all week, or if I'm feeling the impact of the motu in mourning, or if I have felt the energy of Whiro in the air... Or all of the above but I have felt an overwhelming feeling of grief this week.

Sometimes in these ebbs and flows, it's not obvious what is pulling at your heartstrings or where these overwhelming feelings of emotion have come from. And often you may never know.. "it just is" sometimes for reasons unknown. What I do know, is its a moment in time and this too shell pass. Let yourself feel it, grieve, mourn it.. allow it to move through you x Tomorrow is a new day 🤎

KARAWHIUA WĀHINE MA- for those who need to hear this today!

Remember who we are, where we have come from, and the wāhine that have stood before us.

KIA KAHA. KIA MAIA. KIA MANAWANUI

For centuries, women have had to navigate a world where the odds were stacked against them. In every corner of society, from ancient times to today, women have faced barriers designed to hold them back. But despite the challenges, they have always found a way to rise, pushing forward with strength, resilience, and determination.

History is filled with stories of women who refused to be silenced, who stood firm in the face of adversity.
They were the healers, the warriors, the leaders, and the nurturers, often doing so in the shadows, their contributions unnoticed and undervalued. Yet, it is because of their courage that the path to empowerment has been paved.

Even now, the struggle continues. In many ways, society still pushes back, attempting to confine women within outdated expectations and normalites. But with every generation, the push forward becomes stronger. Women today draw from the strength of their ancestors, knowing that they stand on the shoulders of giants.

It is in this ongoing journey that we find our greatest power. Each time a woman speaks up, breaks a barrier, or simply chooses to live authentically, she honors those who came before her and paves the way for those who will follow. The path is not always easy, but the progress we make is unstoppable. The future is one where wāhine stand tall, not in spite of the pushback, but because they have always known how to push forward.

To all our wāhine out there, KEEP MOVING, KEEP RISING.

YOUR STRENGTH IS THE LEGACY THAT WILL SHAPE TOMORROW for our mokopuna to come x

THE IMPORTANCE OF TENDING TO YOUR OWN GARDEN🌿🌱💚

Over the past month or so ,I have really started tending to my own physical garden, and it's made me reflect on the many years I've spent rushing around, taking time outside my own backyard. And though there are no regrets on that, I have felt a strong pull this year to really tune in on my own environment and my gardens, to set us up for the years to come. Putting my our own mauri into our own backyard, tending to and cultivating our own little peace of whenua, planting seeds of strength, peace, joy, laughter..fills my cup.

I've realised that tending to your own garden is one of the most essential acts for self-aroha and self-awareness. Just like a physical garden, our inner world requires consistent attention, nurturing, and care to thrive. When we neglect this space, it can become overrun with weeds—stress, negativity, and unresolved emotions—that choke out our peace and potential for growth.

The importance of tending to your own garden lies in the innerstanding that you are the master and navigator of your own hauora( well-being.) It’s about creating a harmonious environment ( eco-system) within yourself where you can cultivate the qualities that truly matter—love, resilience, compassion, and joy. This practice isn’t just about removing what no longer serves you but also about planting seeds of positivity and nurturing them through mindfulness, intentionality, and self-compassion.

When you tend to your own garden, you create a space where your true self can flourish. It allows you to be grounded in your purpose, aligned with your values, and present in your relationships. This inner harmony radiates outward, influencing how you engage with the world and how the world engages with you.

In the busyness of life, it’s easy to overlook the importance of this practice. However, just as a neglected garden will not provide you with mauri filled kai, an untended inner world can leave us feeling disconnected and unfulfilled.
By making the time to care for your own garden, you will ensure that you have the energy, clarity, and strength to navigate life’s challenges and embrace its joys💜

FREEDOM LIES IN YOUR ABILITY TO LET GO OF THE ATTACHMENT- POSITIVE OR NEGATIVE. Both will hold you hostage!
Drop the attachment to thought and let it yourself be free.

Are you AWARE that the mind can attach itself to ideas, thoughts, and beliefs, trapping you into thinking you have no power? That you are stuck..!

Our minds are incredibly powerful, but unless harnessed, they can create our greatest barriers to truly embrace life.. We often latch onto certain thoughts, ideas, and beliefs without questioning their validity or their impact on our lives. Over time, these mental attachments can shape our reality, convincing us that we are limited, powerless, or stuck in our circumstances.

Think about the thoughts you entertain daily. They are important to become aware of. How many of them are rooted in fear, doubt, or a sense of unworthiness? These thoughts can create a false narrative, leading us to believe that we are incapable of change or that we must stay within the confinement of what’s safe and familiar—even if it no longer serves us.

The truth is, these mental attachments are just that—ATTACHMENTS. They are not truths, and they do not define who you are or what you are capable of. "YOU CAN CHOOSE WHETHER TO ENGAGE or ATTACH" to these ideas or thoughts and whether they add any value to your life by holding on to them. The mind likes to cling to the known, the safe, and the predictable, but in doing so, it can prevent us from stepping into our true power and potential.

Awareness is the key to breaking free. By becoming aware of the thoughts and beliefs that hold you hostage, you can begin to challenge and release them. Ask yourself: Is this thought true? Does this belief empower me or limit me? What would happen if I let go of this idea?

You are not your thoughts. You are not your beliefs. You are a being of infinite potential, capable of creating a life that aligns with your deepest truth and highest purpose.

Remember, you have the power to choose. You have the power to detach from the mental constructs that no longer serve you and step into a reality where you are the creator of your own experience.

Empower yourself by becoming aware of the thoughts, patterns, and beliefs that are trapping you into believing you have no choice! that you have no power! 🥰

I was blown away yesterday working through my garden, the RONGOĀ that revealed itself. We are absolutely abundant with wild medicine growing freely all around us! It feels empowering to recognize it..and gives me a deep sense of satisfaction that I'm on the right path towards wholeness and reciprocity.

I'm loving my journey connecting to the taiao and this beautiful exchange of energy! The whenua truly provides us with everything we need to nurture our bodies, minds, and spirits—We just need to take the time to become the observer.. Whakarongo, Titiro - Whakatau- settling our minds to engage in the mauri of the rākau and of the whenua.
Empower your senses and tune in to the world around you.. let it guide you on your journey of wellness and connection

LEARNING TO TRUST OURSELVES IS ONE OF OUR GREATEST LESSONS.

I remember a point at the beginning of my journey where I questioned my own reality.. I had become aware of the disfunction in my own hinengaro, my thoughts, my actions and my behaviour.. Was I good enough, was I worthy, was Māori enough, should I be doing this mahi! Was I really who I thought I was, in all aspects of my life?

I started to question what was real and what was a societal construct of "who I thought I needed to be, in order to survive- "to be accepted" in this world.
TO BE REAL!! It was a real mind f**k🤯 and to be honest - It has only been within the last year, that I have truly started to reclaim myself..Unapologetically!

Who was I? really? What was it that "I" wanted, needed in order to support myself and my whānau? Why was I here and what was I needing to change, learn and understand about myself to be of true service to the kaupapa in which I stand for for? And was that kaupapa!? Was I in alignment with my true path or was I getting distracted by outside noise? What would I wholeheartedly stand for and how did I want to live my life moving forward?
What was truly important to me and was I putting my energy into the right places?

Learning to trust myself has been one of the most profound lessons, and though I'm still on this waka, I am now learning to lean in, embrace this journey, trust myself and listen to my inner knowing.

In a world that often encourages us to seek validation and answers from others, it's so easy to forget that we have this innate wisdom that resides within own selves. The journey of self-trust is crucial to our growth, healing, and alignment with who we truly are.

When we learn to trust ourselves, we honor our intuition, listen to our bodies wisdom, and make conscious choices that resonate with our authentic selves.

Trusting ourselves, is about taking a moment to tune in to our primal knowing, our gut instinct, the karapūtoro..Our pure and devine awareness before it gets corrupted by a conditioned mind or outside influences.

Building self-trust is a process. It requires us to quiet the external noise, to reconnect with our inner voice, and to believe in our own experiences and insights. It’s about giving ourselves permission to lead our own lives, to make mistakes, and to learn from them without judgment of ourselves. It's about compassion and holding ourselves with grace and understanding.

As we deepen this trust, we become more resilient, confident, and aligned with our true path. We stop looking outside for approval or direction and start living from a place of inner certainty.

Trusting ourselves is an act of self-love, and as we strengthen this trust, we open the door to greater peace, empowerment, and fulfillment. The answers we seek are already within us—it's time to trust in our own journey.

Connecting to the Rongoā around us 🌿

RONGOĀ COMES IN MANY FORMS..

It is the mirimiri on your skin from Tama-nui-te-rā, or the gentle touch of Tāwhirimātea as he caresses your face with a soft breeze or challenges you with strong gusts, teaching you to embrace rather than resist.

It’s the sound of taonga pūoro, whispering the oro of your ancestors, guiding you with their wisdom.

Rongoā is the loving embrace of the ngahere, wrapping you in the arms of nature or the kind words spoken from one heart to another.

Rongoā is the song of the manu in the early morning of spring, or the rain pouring down to meet Papatūānuku, nourishing the earth and your spirit.
It is the gentle caress of the awa flowing past you or Tangora's ebbs and flows, reminding you to gently let go of what no longer serves you.

Rongoā is the Maramataka...Hīna- the phases and many faces of the moon, giving you grace to understand that everything moves in cycles and nothing remains the same.

It’s the feeling of self-aroha. The gift you give yourself by making space for rest, restoration, and repair.
Rongoā is the waiata sung in harmony, a mirimiri for the soul.

Rongoā is the loving intention behind karakia, a connection to all realms for the betterment of all.
It is the love of a child, their playfulness feeding the air with joy laughter and innocence.

Rongoā is that deep sense of aroha shared with your soulmate, your hoa rangatira, your best friend. 🧡 it is sexual energy exchange that surges through you, allowing you to open to all corners of the universe.

Rongoā is music awakening your tinana, allowing it to move and shift energy.

Rongoā is soul food, prepared with aroha.
It is the medicines from the whenua, growing all around us, waiting to be received.
Rongoā is opening our senses, allowing you to shine in alignment with your true self, knowing that the medicine we need is already here, ready to be embraced.

Rongoā comes in many forms ..What is your Rongoā and how do you receive it?

Aroha mai Aroha Atu x

Mentorship Opportunity in Romiromi and Rongoā Māori 🤎🤎🤎🤎

I am excited to be offering a unique opportunity to mentor 3-5 people who are passionate about traditional Māori healing practices.
If you feel the call to deepen your journey within the the kaupapa of Rongoā Māori and have firm roots embedded in the Wairarapa, this is for you.

I am looking to build and nurture a team of practitioners, that hold their own strengths, abilities and skills within the realm of Rongoā Māori..( though you may not have fully engaged with it yet, you know that they are within you) Bodywork, intuitive healing - Romiromi, Mirimiri, Rongoā rākau, Taonga Puoro, Matakite.....

This mentorship program is not just about learning techniques—it's about awakening the living taonga within you and offering you a space to explore your own innate gifts handed down by your tūpuna. It's is knowing you are getting the tap on the shoulder when you read this. As a Kai Rongoā, you hold a sacred gift, an innerstanding, and passion that can bring profound healing to our community.

My intention is to have you work alongside me in an ACC clinic, providing holistic support and healing, grounded in our ancestral wisdom. Together, we will honor and preserve the traditions of our tīpuna, ensuring they continue to thrive.

If you are ready to step into this important role, knowing you have the gift within you and the time and space to commit, come join me on this beautiful haerenga, and let’s uplift our people together.

I AM THE TAIAO AND THE TAIAO IS ME.

As I deepen my relationship with Te Taiao- the natural world around me, I deepen my relationship with myself.

I remember the first time I actually felt this deep sense of unconditional aroha and genuine connection between me and the taiao..
I recognized it because it no longer felt like I was on the outside trying to fit in, combining the hustle and bustle of human life with the gentle ebb and flow of nature's own. It felt still, sincere, genuine and kind..Like a tuakana, a mentor, a friend, that genuinely had my back. Like a breath of fresh air, filling my lungs with aroha... Mauri ( life force), Energy flow. A mirimiri for my wairua, my tinana, and my hinengaro. It was the rongoā for my soul.

TE TAIAO does not judge or hold any expectations of you. It takes you wholey, as you are💜

When you truly tune in to the vibrations of The Taiao—our natural environment, it not only centers you but also strengthens your body’s natural defenses ( your antibodies), supporting your overall health and wellbeing

It is the RONGOĀ, the magic pill whānau! What we are looking for is right in front of us.

This relationship is a total exchange of energy...AROHA MAI AROHA ATU.. Where both you and nature can thrive. As you open yourself to the wisdom and frequency of the natural world, you begin to heal on a deep, soulful level."

This connection is not just about being in nature—it's about becoming one with it, recognizing that its energy is your energy, and in that unity, there is profound healing and transformation."

TO ALL MY PAST AND PRESENT CLIENTS - This is for you!

Mōrena koutou e te whānau

This is CALL, a KARANGA, an INVITATION, to all my past and present tangata whaiora to share your experience with others on the journey.
To all my beautiful clients out there... I know there have been a few over the years, especially through my own transitions💜

I understand this is a sacred space and a very personal journey for each of you and I also understand it is often difficult to put your experience into words.

BUT today I'm reaching out for your support, to share your experiences and leave me a review on my FB page, of your time spent with me.

How did your sessions benefit you? Physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually?

What did you notice and become aware of on your journey? What shifts did you make ? Are you stronger and more able to move physically mentally and emotionally, through life?
Are you pain free? Is your body functioning better than when you arrived? Does your body move with more ease?
Are you more conscious? More self aware?
Are you seeing more clearly? Is there less clutter in your whare, both internal and external?
What bounderies and support systems have you put in place?
Are you able to cope more fluidly with lifes many ups and downs?
Who are you? What do you hold as great importance to you now? Are you aware of your energy?
What do you know now that you didn't know before? What progress have you made?
Are you recognising what serves you and what doesn't? Who else benefited from these sessions? ie whānau, community?
How did I specifically hold this space for you? Did you feel safe? Did you feel heard, seen, understood?

If you have felt the benefits of my mahi in it's various forms, I would be incredibly grateful if you could share your thoughts and experiences in a review.

When you share your experience, you’re not just acknowledging your own journey—you’re also opening a door for others to embrace and acknowledge their's. Your words can be incredibly encouraging to others, that are on the edge of starting their own hauora journey and are not sure where to start.

By sharing.. you’re contributing to a greater kaupapa, to tautoko and support our people to build stronger foundations for themselves and for their whānau, which ultimately supports us all as a whole.

Thank you so much in advance! It honestly has been one of the greatest journey's of my life, to mahi along side you! 🥰 AROHA MAI AROHA ATU! It has been a ride! A total exchange of energy and I have received so much throughout the 17 years of doing the mahi.

It is not a one size fits all approach to healing as each session is intuitively led, guided by what your body needs on the day.
