My name is Ricky Davis and I’m excited to announce that I am the proud new owner of Civic Espresso located in the council building on Rust Avenue, Whangarei

We are currently open from 8am til 1.30pm serving Kokako Organic Coffee, Karma Drinks and a variety of delicious sweets and savouries - all homemade! Both EFTPOS and Cash are accepted too

I look forward to meeting and serving you all 😊

Meet Ricky - the newest member of the Pure / Civic team!

Ricky is from Hokianga in the Far North ⬆️
When Ricky isn’t at work, you’d find him spending quality time with his family 👨‍👩‍👦

Ricky joins us with boat loads of experience in both the kitchen and front of house, which makes him an awesome all rounder for our cafes!

You’ll find Ricky floating between both venues as needed, so pop in and say hello to him! 👋

We’re slowly trialling a few of our Pure cabinet options here at Civic, to see what sells best. They’re two very different venues so what works at Pure may not do as well at Civic and vice versa.

A reminder that we are closed for an extra long weekend this weekend. But first…

We made a post last week about Chunky Cups, but I thought I’d give you a more in-depth explanation on how it works.

Chunky Cups provide a sustainable alternative to takeaway cups here at both Civic Espresso and Pure Cafe.

You can purchase a loan cup ($10) from our counter, for your takeaway hot drinks.

This is a one off fee to get you into the rhythm, which can then be either:
- returned to us (clean or dirty), and either refilled/swapped out for a clean one and refilled.
- returned to us and have your initial fee totally refunded
- kept in your cupboard forever!
It’s completely up to you.

P.S. you can bring your vessel back to either one of our cafes.

We encourage all of our customers to either have keep cups (we have many options available) or get involved in the Chunky Cups initiative.
Or better yet, hang around and enjoy the break!

Chunky Cups are loan cups which can be purchased through us for a one-off fee, you can then bring them back (clean or dirty), and we will replace it with a clean full one 🥰
