OFFICIAL STATEMENT
On class suspensions and shifting to ADM due to high heat index, other calamities

4 April 2024 - In light of the high heat index experienced in different parts of the country, the Department of Education (DepEd) reiterates the provisions of Department Order 037 issued in 2022, which provides guidelines on the cancellation or suspension of classes and work in schools in the event of natural disasters, power outages/power interruptions, and other calamities.

Specifically, DepEd has given the school heads the authority and discretion to suspend the conduct of in-person classes and shift to alternative delivery modes (ADM) in cases of extreme heat and other calamities that may compromise the health and safety of learners, teachers, and non-teaching personnel. This measure was the subject of OASOPS No. 2023-077 issued last 20 April 2023, and OUCT and OUOPS Memorandum dated 28 February 2023 (Implementation of Alternative Delivery Mode (ADM) in All Public Elementary and Secondary Schools).

Given that DepEd supervises more than 47,000 schools nationwide, it is in the best interest of the learning community to have localized assessments for timely response and interventions to ensure the welfare of learners and personnel.

Thank you.

โ€œHappiness comes from helping others, by being with others, and by sharing, even if it's only a smile.โ€ A quote fromโ€• Zain Hashmi

Last February 8, 2024, a remarkble day was witnessed by TEsians along with their parents, some visitors and other stakeholder with a WIDE SMILE. Why?

Because it was just the very day where generous people gathered to make a difference in the lives of our dearest pupils.

In the humble presence of Elder Reo Larsen and Sister Terrie Larsen of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Marikina East Stake and in the endless support of the Division of Antipolo, in the presence of Dr. Lerma L. Flandez, CESO VI, Schools Division Superintendent, Mr. Albeno Del Monte- EPS in Socmob and Mrs. Melanie Burgonia - EPS in EPP/TLE for their boundless support to all the programs and projects of Taguete Elementary School and of course to the President of the Federation of Parents and Teachers Association (FPTA) Mrs. Bonnie Coranes for making this precious bond between the school and the stake possible. Thank you for making this day worth to cherish.

We are so blessed to have been selected as one of beneficiaries of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Charities and we will never waste the trust that they have given us.

The equipment that we received will be of great help to give the best education possible to our dear learners. The competencies in Science and EPP/TLE that entail hands-on experience will be now taught by the teachers with ease. And in return, the pupils will learn and enjoy at the same time.

On behalf of the teaching and non-teaching staff of Taguete Elementary School, the parents, pupils and the entire community of sitio taguete, we humbly extend our sincerest gratitude to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Marikina East Stake for your uninterrupted kindness. May the good Lord bless you and all your members a thousand fold.

It is true that sharing is caring.
With the generosity of our stakeholder to the lives of our dear learners, we will definitely instill to them through the help of the teaching and non teaching personnel of Taguete ES the true essence of giving and sharing to one another.

The Taguete Elementary School and Peรฑafrancia Elementary School Annex participated the 'In Service Training for Teachers (INSET) with the theme " Strengthening the pedagogical knowledge and competence of teachers in a post pandemic teaching-learning process " on January 24-26, 2023 at Taguete Elementary School, School gymnasium. It was attended by 40 teachers who came from Taguete Elementary school headed by their ever dynamic, magnanimous, supportive and bewitching School Head, Sir Rodien Dunhill c. Arnaiz and 21 teachers from Peรฑafrancia Elementary School Annex headed by virtuos and astute Dr. Teody E Bautista.

Mrs. Joann M. Soria ,Master Teacher I of Sta Cruz Elementary School, was the first speaker who shared her expertise about โ€ Planning Integration in Teaching and Learning Processโ€ which can be seen in the COT ,contained in indicators 1 and 2. Her objectives as a facilitator are the following:
1. Explain the what , why and how of knowledge of content integration .
2. Understand the significant concepts in applying knowledge of content integration within and across curriculum.
3. Employ integration of knowledge of content within and across curriculum area in any part of the lesson.
4. Prepare a lesson plan with integration of knowledge of content within and across curriculum area.
She pointed out the difference between within and across in the lesson plan. And She said that when it is within, it is an intra-disciplinary topic and when it is across, it is an interdisciplinary topic.
And she added that when it's within, it's only within grade level. and when across ,below grade level or one step higher than grade level. and she also said that integration can help us for the mastery of our topic.
For her second topic , she shared her expertise in teaching strategies and numeracy and her objective โ€œ enumerate sample teaching strategies that enhance literacy and numeracy skills. And teachers learned a lot as she shared numeracy and literacy strategies.

Mr. John Mark Ocampo, Master Teacher I , Shared his knowledge that can be seen to our COT indicators 3 and 9 He taught different strategies that will help students develop critical thinking and how to make them think creatively using different HOTS questions.

For the 2nd day of our Inset , our speaker is Mrs. Florife J. Cabangon Master Teacher 1, shared her expertise about โ€œ standard test construction with table of specificationsโ€
She taught the two categories of test items.
1. Objective type of Test- requires only one answer. For example, multiple choice, maching type and True or False.
2. Subjective items- for example, short answer essay, extended response essay, problem solving and performance task.
She shared her knowledge about D.O no.8 2015 p(7) which states that ,it is strongly recommended that items in long quizzes/test be distributed across the cognitive process dimensions so that all are adequately covered. And as for D.O no.79,s 2003 and D.O no. 33 s, 2004 there it was stated that the test was designed as 60% easy items, 30% medium level items and 10% difficult items.
She also taught the teachers how to make a TOS and how to compute the number of days, no of items and where the number placement is.

Mr Melvin Antole , Master Teacher I , Shared his knowledge that can be seen to our COT indicators 6 and 7. He emphasized that there are four categories about learner centered culture .
1. Linguistic
2. Cultural
3. Socio ecomic/ status or income
4. Religious background
Through these four categories he made the teachers create a story that shows the linguistic, cultural, socio economic and religious background about a child named Timben who came from Batanes and moved to Antipolo. And the teachers happily shared their story about a young Tembin.

Mrs Angeline Langbayan, Teacher III Discussed the COT that can be seen in indicators 5 and 6 . Her topic became lively because he played fill in the blanks. She said that in order to get 7 in the COT rating, as teachers we must establish a safe and secure learning environment and policies and guidelines and we must have fairness, respect and care for our pupils. One of the examples she made was the nail that was not nailed properly. And the teacher did not realize that the child had a wound. As a teacher we must always think of the welfare of our pupils. and we must not create a favoritism to our pupils .instead, we should motivate all our pupils to improve their studies.

Morever, Mr Marco D. Llego , Mrs Chona J.Asirit and Dr. Vicky T Cauilan ,Master Teachers from Taguete Elementary School and Peรฑafrancia Elementary School Annex showcased their unique strategies in teaching as they are chosen as demonstration teachers.

The INSET of teachers was productive, the right training time was followed. After the INSET, it is expected that everyone will be able to find new friends, poured with new learning and knowledge, and be able to use what they have learned in the learning -teaching process.
