What is a Day of Coordinator?

Hi!
A lot of people don’t understand the role of a wedding coordinator or the service which many wedding planners offer called ‘day of coordination’. So I decided to write a small post which will hopefully help you understand everything you need to know about what this service includes and whether it may benefit YOU.🤍

Wedding couples often hire a wedding coordinator if they are on a tight budget or they wanted to be in full control of planning their own wedding. If you have created the blueprint for your wedding but simply need an expert to execute that for you then this is where a day of wedding coordinator become in hand!

Many couples rely of their friends or family members to help with the coordination of their wedding but this is giving them a huge responsibility as well as stress which often makes them feel like one of the ‘event staffs’ rather than their designated role such as the mother of the bride, best man or bridesmaid etc.

With only a small investment, here are some of the things a wedding coordinator can help you with..

- Go through a timeline and the expectations of each one of your chosen vendors to ensure they understand their responsibilities
- Submit a final timeline 1 week prior to your wedding to ensure each vendor has clear instructions and directions of how to get to your location/s and where to go on arrival
- Re-negotiating any terms or contracts with your vendors
- Ensure all vendors have arrived on time and coordinate with them
- Assist any vendors that need help
- Assist the Bride & Groom getting ready and provide an emergency kit if required
- Gather your guests and direct them
- Overcome any problems before and during the event/s
- Set up and style your venue to your wishes
- Oversee vendor set ups to ensure everything is done to your expectations
- Ensure all vendors are sticking to their schedules during the event
- Help the Bride/Groom with anything they need during the day
- Checking everything is running smoothly during the day
- Coordinate all departure transportation
-Distribute any final payments to vendors on your behalf before/after the wedding
