Kapamilya Run 2013: First Negros Marathon

Bantay Bata 163 Negros, in partnership with Nomadic Hands Australia and the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples-Negros Occidental Community Center, will be implementing the Project Connect, Create and Conserve: An Anti-Child Labor Project in the Bukidnon Cultural Community in Sitio Sibato, Barangay Guimbalaon, Silay City this coming June 2012. In line with this, we are looking for committed volunteers who will help us implement this project. We will have an orientation with all the volunteers on May 16, 2012, wednesday, 4pm at the bantay bata 163 negros office. If you are interested, please call 433-9071 and look for Caryl Diamante.

The purpose of this Project is to empower Philippine communities to reduce the worst forms of child labor in a self-sustaining manner. This will be achieved through the implementation of social entrepreneurship workshops. A livelihood program will also be implemented in order for the community members to have an alternative source of income that will enable them to send their children to school.

Thank you very much to all those who gave their support and assistance to the victims of the recent earthquake in negros oriental. Because of you, Bantay Bata 163 Negros and ABS-CBN Bacolod, through the Sagip Kapamilya Program, was able to deliver relief goods to 9,102 families in the different barangays/ areas of Guihulngan City and La Libertad. ABS-CBN Sagip Kapamilya Negros Occidental will be providing relief operations augmentation in Valencia, Negros Oriental tomorrow morning. 3,500 families are in need of assistance.
