As the weather condition improves with the exit of typhoon "Carina," Mayor Benjamin Magalong urged barangay officials and residents to launch their own community clean-up activities to put to straight not only their homes but their community as well.

Volunteer groups and individuals are also encouraged to join the clean-up drive to cover Burnham Park and Harrison Road. They may coordinate with the Special Services Division at City Hall or call 09231878729 / 0744427295.

The mayor made the same appeal to business establishment owners who he said should also take charge of the upkeep of their frontages and surroundings.

“Typhoon Carina unleashed strong winds that felled trees, branches, leaves and debris that up to now remain scattered along roads and sidewalks. Let us help restore and maintain the cleanliness of our barangays,” the mayor said.

"Magtulong-tulong po tayo sa paglilinis matapos itong bagyo. Para po ito sa ating syudad at para na rin sa ating kalusugan at pangkalahatang kaayusan. Maraming salamat po," the mayor added. - Aileen P. Refuerzo

Congratulations to the 27 Certified Youth Instructors of Batch Aslagan who successfully completed the Youth Instructor Training Course held at the Philippine Red Cross - Baguio City Chapter from June 29, 2024 to July 8, 2024.

The following instructors completed the objective of the course, which is to equip them to teach and train the youth about volunteerism guided by the Red Cross movement and its 7 Fundamental Principles.

Twenty-seven youth participants have finally completed the 10-day Youth Instructor Training Course held at Baguio City on July 8, 2024.

𝐘𝐈𝐓𝐂 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒: 𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝟖 & 𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝟗 | 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐕𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐞𝐫 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞

Philippine Red Cross - Baguio City Chapter facilitated the Youth Volunteer Formation Course on July 6 - 7, 2024.

Twenty-seven youth participants completed the objective of the course by developing their leadership skills and gaining a deeper understanding of the Red Cross Movement as an organization member.

Lastly, as part of the Youth Instructor Training Course activity, the participants also joined the YVFC.

Their last day in the YITC program starts today, July 8, 2024

Today, we celebrate a special day for someone still young enough to remember how to have fun.

A look at the Red Cross Youth as they enjoyed their performance task during their activity in their Seventh Week day journey of the Youth Instructor Training Course held on July 5, 2024.

The participants are now nearing the end of the course as they approach their 8th day of training today, July 6, 2024.

Updates on the 6th Day of the Youth Instructor Training Course held on July 4, 2024.

Participants are now on their week-long journey on their program on July 5, 2024.

𝐘𝐈𝐓𝐂 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒: 𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝟓 | 𝐇𝐚𝐥𝐟𝐰𝐚𝐲 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞

The participants are now on their fifth day of their Youth Instructor Training Course on July 3, 2024.

Red Cross Youth Participants shared their experiences and insights regarding how they were able to develop themselves during their training.

Mr. Kristle John Ngipol, a Red Cross Volunteer from Ifugao Chapter, stated that despite the hard training, their determination allowed them to finish each module daily. He also said it is a unique training as it is more interactive and experience learning.

Moreover, Ms. Geona Lopez, a 21-year-old volunteer from the La Union Chapter, stated that her experiences so far in this training allowed her to develop socially.

"I grew up as an introverted person pero nafefeel ko po sa sarili ko na ever since pumunta po ako dito [for training], and Day 5 na po ngayon and nagiimprove po ako paonti-onti [to be interactive with people]" as Lopez stated.

She also added that YITC is an intensive training that is memorable and impactful for her development.

"Inexpect ko din po na magiging strict yung mga facilitators pero its for our own good din naman po kaya it's a good thing, and also lahat ng tinuturo naman dito is for our improvements for future facilitators in Red Cross Youth" Lopez said.

They also shared their words of encouragement for their co-participants in the training.

"Dapat magcommit pa sila, and yung discipline dapat laging andoon at hindi dapat kinakalimutan, and also dapat isabuhay namin yung 7 fundamental principles of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement" commented by Ms. Lopez.

"This is our day na we begin our journey in becoming a youth instructor, and inspire more youth in our chapters, and to be a youth for a behavioral change," as mentioned by Mr. Ngipol.

Their 6th day has started today, July 4, 2024.

𝐘𝐈𝐓𝐂 2024: 𝐃𝐚𝐲 1 | Philippine Red Cross - Baguio City Chapter commences the Youth Instructor Training Course on June 29, 2024.

It will be facilitated by National Trainers — Vina Asuncion of the Baguio City Chapter, Ely John Corpuz from the La Union Chapter, and Ramon Carlos from the Pasay Chapter.

The said training course consists of the participants of Red Cross Youth from different chapters such as Baguio, Ifugao, Benguet, Santiago, Olongapo, Bataan, Pampanga, Tarlac, Aurora, Pangasinan, Ilocos Sur, Ilocos Norte, and Alaminos.

Moreover, the course will be held from June 29, 2024, until July 8, 2024.

Good luck to the participants as they welcome their 2nd day of training with the cool breeze of Baguio City.
