Paulo on Friday, Dec. 4, at the unit’s headquarters in Barangay Alubijid, Buenavista town to forge a partnership with the Army’s 23rd Infantry “Masigasig” Battalion to launch a series of campaigns against insurgency in their respective communities.

“We, your 23IB army will double our efforts to build great walls in the boundaries within our Areas of Responsibility (AOR) so that the CTGs can no longer enter in your communities and so that the dismantled Guerilla Fronts will no longer have the chance to recover,” Paulo said.

“Let us help one another in ending insurgency so that there will be no more families destroyed and no more lives will be lost,” he said.

Calatrava villagers condemn NPA BACOLOD City – About 60 individuals from three barangays in Calatrava, Negros Occidental denounced the alleged violence and atrocities committed by the New People’s Army (NPA) through a rally at the covered court of Barangay Minapasuk last Wednesday.

Joint statement of Mindanao Indigenous Peoples Youth Organization (MIPYO) and Mindanao Indigenous Council of Elders and Leaders (MIPCEL) in connection with the demise of Rep Cullamat’s daughter.
We are shock and in grief as we read the news regarding the death of the daughter of Bayan Muna Representative Eufemia Campos Cullamat, Jevilyn Campos Cullamat, 22 in an encounter with the troops of the 3rdSFB in Surigao del Sur. It was also reported that she belongs to the NPA unit as a medical officer operating in Surigao del Sur. Same unit that assassinated Datu Jomar Bocales, the IPMR of Liangga, Surigao del Sur last 2 months ago. He was their relative.
Prior to the incident her brother who was also an NPA carrying the name alyas Batik and her sister former NAPC representative Gloria Campos Tumalon were also arrested.
It is in the culture that of the Manobo the belief that what you plants is what you will harvest. That in the end Justice is served to Datu Jomar Bocales.
But looking at things in a bigger perspective, way beyond the incidents is the reality that we are advocating, that the IP communities is now a divided community. Where relatives are divided due to the exploitation and infiltration of the CPP in the IP communities.
The lessons we learn from these incidents are the following:
The Makabayan led Party list group will not lift its finger nor condemn the NPA for the killings of the Indigenous Peoples, even if they are representative of the government. Like what they do in case of Datu Jomar Bocales and many others.
The Makabayan block is deaf and blind in the recruitment of the IP youth to the NPA as “child warriors”.
That the “Makabayan block” is insistent that it is noble and a personal choice to join the NPA. As if there is no radicalization and recruitment of the IPs and IP youth first from their open mass organization or legal front MAPASU,ALCADEV and TRIFPSS and later to the Liga ng mga Iskolar ng Bayan (LIB) to be recruited to the KM and the CPP, which will alter deployed these IP and IP youth as combatant in the NPA units and cadre for the urban areas or front organizations. That even after the death of a daughter, still willing to be exploited by the CPP.
If the parents had lost their responsibility to their children because of this communist radicalization and brainwashing, it now becomes the responsibility of the community and the entire sector of the Indigenous Peoples, to take into our hands the responsibility of ending this Local Communist Armed Conflict. It is our responsibility to continue asking the government in behalf of the Indigenous Peoples to secure our Rights and Lives from the curse of Communism.
Lastly, we hold the CPP, its cohorts including the Makabayan block, responsible for these incidents. You are killing us, corrupting our culture, cursing our Lands and pitting us with our own brothers and sisters.
We are calling all brother IPs, in all the tribes, nation-wide, that our belief to our Magbabaya and Manama to guide us and liberate us from the scourge and cursed brought to us by the CPP.
