Eto po ay isang comment sa aming post.

Madaming beses na namin tong naririnig at gusto po namin maeducate ang mga fur parents.

Nakakataas nga ba ng immunity ang hayaan sila na maulanan?

SAGOT:
Ang immunity ng a*o ay maaaring bumaba kapag sila ay nauulanan, lalo na kung sila ay nababasa nang matagal o nagiging malamig. Narito ang ilang dahilan kung bakit ito nangyayari:

1. Paglamig ng katawan: Kapag ang a*o ay nababasa at hindi agad natutuyo, maaaring bumaba ang temperatura ng kanilang katawan. Ang malamig na katawan ay maaaring magdulot ng stress sa immune system, na humahantong sa pagbaba ng immunity.

2. Stress at pagod: Ang pagkababad sa ulan ay maaaring maging sanhi ng stress at pagkapagod sa a*o. Ang stress ay kilalang nakakapagpahina sa immune system.

3. Exposure sa bacteria at viruses: Kapag ang a*o ay basa, mas mataas ang posibilidad na sila ay magkaroon ng impeksyon, lalo na kung sila ay naglalaro o naglalakad sa lugar na may putik, madumi, o kontaminadong tubig. Ang mga pathogens na ito ay maaaring magdulot ng sakit na magpapababa sa kanilang immunity. Ang mga sakit tulad ng pneumonia, kennel cough (bordetella), leptospirosis, at iba pang respiratory infections ay karaniwang nangyayari kapag bumaba ang immunity ng a*o dahil sa pagkakababad sa ulan.

4. Pagtaas ng risk ng hypothermia: Ang pagkabasa at pagkakalantad sa malamig na temperatura nang matagal ay maaaring magdulot ng hypothermia, isang kondisyon na nagiging sanhi ng pagbaba ng temperatura ng katawan. Ito ay nagiging sanhi ng systemic stress na nagpapahina sa immune response ng katawan ng a*o.

Para mapanatili ang kalusugan ng a*o, mainam na tuyuin sila kaagad gamit ang tuwalya o blower pagkatapos nilang mabasa sa ulan at siguraduhing may mainit na lugar para matuyo sila nang maayos.

THIS IS EVERY FURPARENT’S WORST NIGHTMARE. PLEASE HELP FUFU!
A FURRY NA PINAGSASAKSAK AND TINAGA YUNG LEEG.

On Saturday, August 31, 2024, I received a call from a fellow advocate who sent me photos of this poor furry. Pinagtataga si Fufu, buti nakauwi pa (imagine pinilit nya umuwi 💔)at tinakbo sa vet ng furparent, who is a member of this group. I advised na after matakbo sa vet, mag-report agad sa PNP para mahuli yung gumawa. Pumunta naman daw sa PNP, pero hindi cooperative ang mga may-ari ng bahay na may CCTV.

I visited him right away before the event, and he was just lying there, nasurgery na yung leeg nya na halos nabalatan na ung buong leeg, he was so traumatized and in pain na he would bite the staff pa daw pag hahawakan sya. I was told na baka madischarge siya the next day, so I instantly thought na baka worried ang owner about the bill kaya pumayag na lang na i-discharge the next day. I assured the owner that I would help raise funds, though they are trying to cover some of the bill themselves, which I appreciate, pero kulang talaga.

Kailangan siyang ma-transfer sa ibang clinic kasi walang X-ray sa clinic na pinagdalhan sa kanya. Nag-aaccumulate ang hangin sa buong katawan niya, and hindi alam kung saang part ng respiratory system galing o saang banda dahil sa dami ng injuries niya. I’m sure mahaba ang recovery niya kasi we had the same case before ( JapJap) but Fufu had more injuries and I am so sure he needs intensive care and interventin, but I told the owner na nilalaban din naman siya, and we will do everything so he survives.

We are calling on witnesses to come forward kung may nakakita man sa gumawa nito kay Fufu so we can file a case at mapakulong ang gumawa nito. Nakalabas lang ang dog, and wala naman siyang kasalanan sa inyo para gawin niyo ‘to sa kanya. We are also calling on the neighbors to please cooperate para mahuli ang culprit.

We urgently need help for his vet expenses kasi admittedly, the owner can only give an amount enough for his X-ray and tests, and probably the first day of confinement.

He won’t make it kung hindi siya matratransfer at macoconfine.

No words can describe how apalled I am with people who do this to defenseless animals. Sana may isang witness na mag-step forward para makasuhan itong napakacruel na mga tao. The owner is willing to file a case, and we will help.

I’m asking for a lot of help for Fufu, who is in critical condition. We want to transfer him, but funds are insufficient. Please help Fufu get through this. No furry deserves this.

He also needs justice.

He is Yuri. One of the stray cats in BGHMC.

Lumapit sa mga co-advocates at nagplambing. Pinakita nyang sobrang bait nya at kailangan nya ng tulong.
Napansin nila nung una yung sugat nya sa balls. Pinavet ng mga advocates sa abot ng kanilang makakaya. Inadopt. Pero after 10 days, hindi na sya kumain. Iba rin ang kulay ng ihi nya.

Alam kong hindi na kakayanin ng mga advocates na ipavet sya kasi may malaki parin utang ky Cole. Another BGHMC stray na miracle rescue rin. So sabi ko bahala na, hindi naman matatanggihan si Yuri kailangan nya ng tulong.

Nung nadala sya sa vet, FeLV and FCOV positive po sya. To make things worst, he is showing signs of stage 4 kidney disease dahl hindi na halos mabasa ng machine yung creatinine at sobrang taas ng BUN nya. Devastated kami but we were still hopeful kahit impossible na mgsusurvive pa sya kung ganon pero sinabi parin namin sa vet na gawin yung lahat and we opted na ipastay sya sa clinic kasi yun ung kailangan nya. Sa lahat ng ito, sobrang lambing parin ni Yuri kahit vets sinasabi na gusto nyang nagpapahaplos at manganglabit pa para mapasnsin sya.

After a week of intensive treatment and monitoring, ng-ask ako ulit if pwde mgrepeat cbc and bldchem with the hopes na sana mgkaron ng miracles sa kidney nya. And sobrang buti ni Lord, kasi He answered our prayers. Nung nregulate na pag ihi nya, nung nagamot na sya, nung nakaspecial diet and on meds, nagnormal po ang mga creatinine level nya and BUN. Naagapan sya. Mukhang Severe UTI ung nangyari skanya nung una na buti nalang nagamot agad bago mgfail ang kidney nya. Pero mahaba haba parin po ang gamutan skanya since my 2 syang viral infections. Immuno-suppressed po sya or sobrang baba ng immunity nya at need nya ng months of medications para sa kidney. Repeat Cbc and bloodchem in a week, continous monitoring, and immune boosters, special diet po ang mga kailangan nya parin.

Kung siguro naisip namin nuon na mawalan ng pag-asa at ilabas nalang sya sa vet, baka wala ng Yuri. Lumaban din po sya kasi siguro, gusto nya talagan maexperience din pano mahalin at meron na syang pamilya.

Nung pinost ko po sya, hindi naman ganon kadami ang nagbigay po pero hindi ko po yun inintindi kasi ang nasa isip ko, basta mabigyan sya ng chance.

Ngaun po, I am humbly asking again for you help kasi po meron pa kaming dalawang nasa vet, month na rin, tapos my isa pa pong tutulungan. Sabi nga ng vets, hindi nauubos ang rescues. Kaya sobra yung pasasalamat ko sa mga tumutulong. Kasi, hindi naman po kami mglalakas ng loob tulungan sila kung hindi rin po dahil sainyo.

As of Aug 30 po, ang running bill ni Yuri ay 23,050. Matagal parin po ang gamutan, kaya po sana tulungan nyo po kami sa expenses and bills nya. Kasi gusto ko talaga syang ilaban kung sya mismo, he is trying his best. Nasa kalahati na panalo na yung laban, gusto kong maovercome nya lahat para naman makauwi na sya at malambing ng sobra kasi mukhang yun lang ang gusto nya. He craves for love.

Furvent Animal Rescue and Advocacy NEEDS URGENT HELP.

Last February, I posted a call for action to help us sustain our mission by sponsoring ₱300 monthly. We are so grateful to those who responded, and we managed to gather an overwhelming 340 people who committed to donate and help us provide food for our rescues and support those still in urgent need of rescuing.

Fast forward to today, and unfortunately, our sponsorship has declined by the third month. This August, we weren’t even able to purchase half of the usual quantity of dog food we need. Meanwhile, the number of rescues under our care, especially those with special conditions, has increased. We’ve added 20 more rescues to our pack, all with special needs.

Sadly, we’re also struggling with the sanctuary costs, as even the labor and materials to transfer some of the rescues are very expensive.

It’s incredibly difficult and painful for me to even consider stopping because I imagine all the furries out there who still need help. Every time I look at these rescues and think about what they’ve been through, I just want to hug them and am so thankful they’re safe now. Yung mga binebenta for dog meat, yung mga nasasagasaan na walang pumapansin, yung mga neglected—yan po ang mga nadagdag sa amin. We’ve been trying to take legal action as well, kahit na it’s stressful and expensive since these efforts are not sponsored.

I have never regretted my decision to make this my purpose, although at first, I hesitated if tutuloy ko pa ba because it’s exhausting, heartbreaking, and seemingly never-ending. Nawala na nga yung mga kasama ko nun, napagod narin. Kaya it’s literally breaking me to even compose this post.

But I can’t imagine taking in more rescues if I can’t feed them, knowing they would go hungry or get sick under my care. That would hurt me even more.

So please, if you still believe in our mission, help us meet their needs. We have always been transparent about where the monthly sponsorship goes, with screenshots and spreadsheets.

If we have to stop rescuing (and I know I’ve said this many times before, even when I was sick, but I always come back because they need us), this time it will be indefinite. For now, we will focus on sustaining our current rescues and counting on those who can still help us.

May this post reach the right people who want to start sponsoring monthly for these rescues. If 200 people commit to a ₱300 sponsorship, it would already help us cover their food.

These were the pups na sinako at iniwan sa Bridge. Ms Miyaka Valdez rescued them and after a few weeks, distemper positive po sila. One pup crossed the rainbow bridge :( the others surviving.

However, last night, she messaged me asking if my dog food po kaya na pwedeng maibigay for the pups kasi hindi nya na kayang isustain especially when their adopters backed out.

More and more people are dumping these angels like garbage. And the burden is being passed to kindhearted people na hindi naman sila matitiis kaya I urge everyone who has extra dog food *puppy*, vitamins and dewormers to please help these pups and their rescuer.

BCPO Police Station 2 arrested three men for violating Republic Act No. 8485, or the Animal Welfare Act, after they were caught butchering and cooking a dog in South Sanitary Camp, Baguio City, today.

Report reads that a 40-year-old resident informed the police of the activity after smelling something burning and observing the men through her window.

The BAGUIO’s FINEST reminds the public that under Republic Act No. 8485, as amended by RA 10631, it is illegal to subject any animal to cruelty, maltreatment, or neglect. This includes the unauthorized butchering of dogs, which is a punishable offense. Citizens are urged to report any such activities to the authorities to help protect and promote animal welfare.

Ending this day again with another rescue success story:

I know I owe a lot of rescue updates. Here's one 🙂

Remember this furry? He was rescued during the first week of June.

He had a severe bite wound on his neck nung narescue siya at hindi makatayo. His trachea was ruptured. He was so critical I thought he would not make it because air was leaking into his system. He was struggling to breathe and was in pain, infested with fleas, and severely weak. A tube was even inserted into his wound.

We were able to find the carers of JapJap, or his real name, PaoPao.
No one visited him at the vet. Furvent has decided not to return JapJap, and we waited for months for him to be fit for discharge.

Two weeks ago, we were able to bring him home.

He is such a sweet boy, but he cannot be exhausted because he still has a hard time breathing if he gets tired or exerts too much effort.

We will not put him up for adoption so we can monitor him.
