END-OF-SCHOOL-YEAR RITES 2024

The UCCP-BEC class of 2024, donning caps and gowns, will proudly march into the front pews of the UCCP Baguio Church, under the loving watch of their families, friends, guests and fellow learners, as they will take part in the school's annual end-of-school-year rites on the 30th and 31st of May 2024. With 66 movers and graduates, and 122 completers gracing the sanctuary, the focus of thought-provoking, heart-warming presentation for this year's completion ceremonies is "Arise" derived out of Isaiah 60:1. Revered guests will speak about what it means to "Arise...and the Lord rises upon you."

The ceremonies will be an opportunity to reflect on the immense growth and the infinite grace of the Lord witnessed in every learner throughout the year.

CELEBRATE WITH US

Somehow, we have come to think of Foundation Day as a yearly observation, a typical day to adopt a festive mood, but it's quite clear that it's much more than that! It is a day set aside to celebrate how blessed we are, revisit our history and keep up the continuing journey of UCCP-BEC.

The thanksgiving service will take place on Friday, January 26, 2024 at 9:00 A.M. We ask everyone to come!

NATIONAL BIBLE MONTH

UCCP-BEC places great importance on enrichment. Learners will have the right array of circumstances to explore their interests and skills set through various activities such as Bible Festival. Let us embrace the new year with much gusto and determination. As one, let us continue to foster a positive and enriching learning experience for our learners that will usher us to another 88 years!

HOLIDAY BREAK 2023

School will not be in session from December 23, 2023 through January 7, 2024.

Celebrating the Nativity of the Lord Jesus gives us the moment to once again return to the one true spirit and delight of this season and be reminded that we are saved by grace. As we all head off on holidays and come together with family and friends this season, consider the lights of the Christmas tree in and out our home as an acknowledgement that He is the Light of the World. And as you are finishing up last minute shopping and putting together for the festivities, allow Him to illuminate your worth and all that you bring to the world.

May all of you, and those that you love, have a wonderful and blessed Christmas.

UN DAY 2023

UN Day is one of the annual observance that is celebrated by UCCP-BEC to appreciate diversity and raise awareness among our learners that the ultimate norm of peace and harmony, as expressed in the Bible, is God's grace.

This year, each class, from Preschool to Grade 6, represented a few UN countries. Besides looking their best in wonderful and colorful National costume, they showcased traditional sing and dance performances from the country they represented. Kudos to our learners for the active, fun and entertaining perfs.

LONG WEEKEND

Many Christian communities around the world, particularly those of the Catholic Faith, mark the Feast of the Immaculate Conception in their diaries and calendars. This day is a holy day of obligation in which they attend special church services for this observance.

In the PH, this day is a public holiday so this entails public workforce and students have a day off work or school.

CLEAN-UP INITIATIVE 2023

On a crisp and sunny Friday morning, learners from Preschool to Grade 10 carried out a clean up drive at Burnham Park. This cleaning initiative is one of the easiest, yet very important, ways to creating a healthy and sustainable future beyond mere aesthetics. It is a testament to the commitment of our learners and their desire to enhance the cleanliness and vitality of our common environment.

With an impressive effort to build environmental stewardship, we are primed to replicate the value of this initiative and collective spirit in the days to come.

NOVEMBER 2023 HOLIDAY CELEBRATIONS AND EVENTS

Time has gone by swiftly and it is hard to believe that the school year is one quarter of the way complete! We have had an extremely successful first quarter with the majority of learners focused on learning and doing their absolute best every single day. We have so much for which to praise God in His provision and goodness as we count the many blessings He has provided.

We advise that learners use this week-long break as an opportunity to have fun but at the same time study and prepare for the next quarter. We have some exciting and informative activities planned for November 2023 and other significant events to celebrate over the second quarter.

Have a restful and enjoyable school break and we look forward to welcoming learners back refreshed and ready to work hard.

LET’S GET IT STARTED

This year's spiritual emphasis is taken from Isaiah 60:1:

“Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you."

We're confident that the last two months have provided our learners a refreshing break from the diversified school life. We are looking forward to their return on August 22, 2023. We will continue to share with them throughout the year the amazing promises found in the Bible, and encourage them to hold those promises close.

HOMESTRETCH

Is it just us or did the last 3 quarters just disappeared in a dust cloud of cold and flu virus and freaky weather conditions? We're into our final stretch of the 2022-2023 School Year and the learners have worked hard. With the long, sun-filled school break just waiting for all the fun, learners would be excited to ditch the books and start relaxing. We know that they are ready for break but we aren't quite there yet.

With fewer days left down the homestretch, there are a number of activities to be excited about. We’d like to see everyone finish strong. We only have a few weeks left and we are confident we can end on a good and high note. Parents and guardians, be sure to encourage our learners to work hard and not rush or make careless mistakes. We still have a lot left to learn, and our work is continuing to get more difficult. It is all too easy to slack off with the warm weather on its way.

We are so appreciative for all of our families and learners, and elated to see that so many have already re-enrolled for the 2023-2024 School Year. We take very seriously the trust you place in us and the responsibility that goes with that decision. With an excellent faculty and positive momentum, it is exciting to see plans coming together to advance even further our vision, mission and educational objectives!

PERFORMING ARTS AND BENEVOLENCE

In partnership with spearheaded by Pastor Erwin Paulino Gigante, UCCP-BEC will bring to the stage a post-valentine production called "Share-A-Love Music Festival." This will be an afternoon of dance, praise, worship, song and play drama on March 3, 2023 at UCCP-BAGUIO Church.

We would love to have our whole school community attend this incredible show. All proceeds to benefit our school building fund, amenities expansion and new endeavors at each grade level. Attendees will have the option to purchase a ticket at Php250 or Php500. Or become a benevolent concert sponsor personally at Php1,000. If you are unable to make for the presentation but would like to donate to help the school, you may do so through direct remittance to the school cashier.

Among the groups sharing their gifts are the UCCP-BEC Faculty, the UCCP-BEC Dance Troupe, UCCP-BEC Drama Club, choral ensembles, and other surprise acts. Our desire is to showcase and provide opportunities for our learners to experience performing arts in new ways through festivals and events. Not only does this platform improves cognitive skills, the gift of music and other forms of arts have the power to inspire, uplift Jesus and pay it forward in service to others.

This event is completely optional and voluntary. We do not require our learners to raise money.

CHRISTMAS 2022

Christmas has always been a special time and people's favorite holiday. As the day ended and people have exchanged warmest Christmas greetings and whispered prayers, we're overcome with the feeling of reassurance and exultation. It is time for a pause and time to celebrate the wonders of His love and faithfulness.

As we enter a new year, let us take encouragement from the same transforming love that brought Him to earth as a baby 2000 years ago, to carry on with our mission to equip our learners for a life of discipleship.

FRUITY FRIDAY

Fruity Friday is one of our favorite calendar items. We love being able to promote fruits as healthy snack, which we know is an excellent source of essential vitamins and helps build our learners' immune system. Today, we are truly blessed by the generosity of our parents. We have seen a variety of chopped up fruits served in each classroom. Having this activity is a practical component in our teaching and learning processes as it empowers our learners with a positive effect on their learning and attitude in the classroom. They learn that good eating habits are important for health, fitness and academic performance.

It is our prayer that eventually all our parents and guardians will see the benefits of eating sensibly and keeping a balanced diet, and limit or eliminate the bags of sugar, salt and ultraprocessed foods culturally accepted as snacks and replace them with fruits and vegetables in the homes.

IYAMAN POST FOR THE FAMILIES OF MA'AM LUZ SUMINGWA, MA'AM JUDY CATALAN AND MA'AM LILIAN AUSTRIA

At UCCP-BEC, we focus on providing learners with the best Christian education possible. But due to our limited budgetary allocation this year, aggravated by the repercussions of the recent health crisis, we struggle to make ends meet and make certain all our learners have the tools and resources they need. So a donation of Science apparatus means a great deal to us.

We've initiated, asked and prayed. None of these would be possible without the generous support of our school community. And the Lord answered instantly through Ma'am Luz Simangwa, Ma'am Judy Catalan, Ma'am Lilian Austria and their family. Turned over by Sir Ryan Sumingwa, the Office of Sir Mhel and the School Board, represented by Ma'am Helen, acknowledged the receipt of 2 microscope and camera kit, 1 monocular compound microscope, and 1 digital LCD lab scale. These were then endorsed to the Science lab teacher and ecstatic G10 learners. In gratitude, these were dedicated to God in prayer and praise by Pastor Pin.

We are in extreme appreciation and we assure you that this gesture will go a long way in assisting our learners. With these extra valuable tools for teaching and learning, we are confident we can attain on steady growth the quality standards and favorable learning environment we have set for the learners.
