1. 𝘿𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙨𝙨𝙚 𝙋𝙡𝙖𝙯𝙖: A hub of activity during events. Booths are set up here and it is also a sports venue at times. It's a great place to socialize and interact with new people across different fields.
2. 𝘼𝙢𝙥𝙝𝙞𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙧: A thrilling venue for events and performances where the crowds go wild and creativity is exhibited.
3 & 4. 𝙊𝙫𝙖𝙡, 𝙫𝙤𝙡𝙡𝙚𝙮𝙗𝙖𝙡𝙡, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙗𝙖𝙨𝙠𝙚𝙩𝙗𝙖𝙡𝙡 𝙘𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙩𝙨: The best spots for sports events and a great place to witness the SLU students' school spirit. A canteen is nearby to grab a quick bite to eat or drink between games.

SICAP’s webinar as part of the BLT Series for the year was conducted successfully last 𝐅𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐲, 𝐀𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐥 𝟐𝟔, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒.

The webinar’s masters of ceremony were Lianne Ashley Gamido and Mark Andrei Ilumin, SICAP’s Christian Spirit Director. The program started with the opening prayer video and opening remarks by Allerie Iglesias, SICAP’s VP for Admin. An icebreaker activity using Kahoot was carried out to establish a lively and engaged atmosphere among the participants.

The first discussion was about the Labor Legislation for the Gen Z Young Workers by Atty. Bernadette Mendoza, CPA — one of SLU’s esteemed faculty. She discussed labor standards and labor relations and answered questions given in advance in her lecture video: https://www.facebook.com/share/v/frQMoo8MfMSYENG1/?mibextid=KsPBc6

A second brief Kahoot icebreaker was conducted to assess the participants' level of alertness and involvement.

This was followed by the discussion on the Ease of Paying Taxes or EoPT Law (RA 11976) and its IRR by Ms. Marie Fe F. Dangiwan and Mr. John Paulo D. Garcia’s, P&A Grant Thorton’s Partner and Senior Manager respectively, under the Tax Advisory and Compliance Division. The flow of the discussion was from Income Tax, Value-added Tax, Withholding Tax, Other Percentage Tax, Admin Compliance Requirements, and ended with the Remedies.

The next portion was the Question and Answer portion of the students for the guest speakers, followed by the awarding of certificates and tokens to the speakers and then to the winners of the icebreakers.

The closing remarks and prayer were then given by Hans Lloyd Reyes, SICAP’s President, to end the program formally.

The webinar succeeded due to the attendees' enthusiastic participation, the valuable contributions from the officers, and effective communication with the guest speakers, who generously shared their time, knowledge, and expertise on the provided topics.

𝐀 𝐁𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐒𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐲, 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐨𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐬!

Remember the famous story of how God created the world only through Words? In the Psalms below, the term breath in Hebrew actually means spirit. The point here is that, as God spoke words in the creation, His Spirit came with it. See how our breath goes with the word when we speak? That’s what’s happening here. Therefore, these are the two agents of God in all creation: God’s Words and His Spirit – indisputably inseparable.

Where are we going with this?

Gaze upon the stars, go out and look at the mountains, ponder about oceans or the million galaxies. The same agents and their tremendous power that created all those things are working in you when you start reading and absorbing His Word, the Bible. The same Word and Spirit are available to you. Simply put, as Derek Prince said, “ When you read your Bible, all the power of God works in you.” I’ll leave you with that. Think about how amazing that is.

Hosea 6:4 “O Israel and Judah, what should I do with you?” asks the Lord.
"For your love vanishes like the morning mist and disappears like dew in the sunlight."

Can’t you hear it with such a broken tone and a hurting heart? The God Himself asks you, “What else should I do for you to love me?”

God, what happened on the cross was not enough. You, living the heavenly throne to be mocked and tortured by my own kind was not enough. Your goodness in my daily life is not enough. That’s how we actually respond to Him every time we do not choose Him. So, how many seconds, days, and years of our lives did we throw Him this entitled message to hurt His heart?

God is not looking for someone who would offer Him sacrifices, good deeds, or hardships. He simply searches for hearts that will firmly love Him with all of they are and their days.

SICAP's second outreach program occurred last April 12, 2024, at 6 p.m. at the SLU Sunflower Centennial Halfway Home for Boys. Student volunteers brought joy to the children through a short program of fun games and storytelling. The room was filled with laughter and positivity, building connections and creating lasting memories. Books collected during the BOOKLAT: Book Donation Drive in SAMCIS from April 5 to 11, 2024, were also distributed, bringing genuine smiles to their faces.

SICAP would like to extend its special thanks to Mr. Eric D. Pinmangen, RSW, the Executive Director of SLU Sunflower Centennial Halfway Home for Boys, and the accommodating staff who have been instrumental in caring for the children. Their support allowed us to share the gift of giving and inspired us to continue promoting kindness. We are also grateful to the students who generously donated their books, as their contributions were crucial to the success of our project. We eagerly anticipate providing more acts of compassion alongside your help in the near future.

The recent EXCEED2024, an event spearheaded by the Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants - De La Salle University Chapter, had reached its conclusion generating Louisian champions. Victors of the said event proved that Louisians are a force to be reckoned with.
Challenging team participants with accounting wit and mastery, "The Tortured Accountants Department" successfully clenched the top title in the Accounting Challenge: All-Boards Quiz Bee. A well-known recognition indeed for Jerome Jolongbayan, Lance DJ Manzano, and Vinz Joshua Sadac!
The collaborative efforts of Team GAAP paved the way for them to emerge as champions as they journeyed to the Wonderland of the Accounting Challenge: Virtual Amazing Race. Cheers to Axa Gwen Dao-ilang, Geomar Paat, and Alyanna Lawrice Rasing, for they have worked their teamwork!
