"Clean Seas for the Blue Economy"

Ngayong araw, ika-21 ng Setyembre, ay ICC Day!

Ang ICC ay isang taunang kaganapan na naglalayong alisin ang mga basura at mga marine debris sa mga baybayin at daluyan ng tubig sa buong mundo. Ito ay pinasimulan ng Ocean Conservancy— isang non-profit environmental advocacy group na nakabase sa Washington, D.C., USA—noong 1986—pinagsasama-sama nito ang mga volunteer, organisasyon, at komunidad upang linisin ang mga dalampasigan, ilog, lawa, at iba pang lugar sa baybayin, at daluyang-tubig.

Sa Metro Manila, mayroon tayong sampung (10) pangunahing identified cleanup sites, ito ang: 1. SM By The Bay, Pasay City; 2. Las Piñas – Parañaque Wetland Park (LPPWP); 3. Baseco Beach, Manila City; 4. Tanza Marine Tree Park (TMTP), Navotas City; 5. Manila Baywalk Dolomite Beach 6. Coastal Area, Brgy. Bagumbayan North, Navotas City; 7. Marikina River, Brgy. Nangka, Marikina; 8. Pasig River (Baseco Riverside); 9. Portion of Manila Bay at Manila Ocean Park 10. ASEANA Business Park.

Ang tema ng ICC ngayong taon ay “Clean Seas for the Blue Economy”. Ito ay naglalayong mapanatili ang ating mga karagatan kasabay ng paglago ng ating blue economy o ang paniniguro na mayroong sustainable use sa ating mga ocean resources para sa pag-unlad ng ekonomiya, pagpapalago ng mga hanap-buhay o trabaho, habang pinapanatili ang malusog na kondisyon ng ating mga karagatan, mga daluyang-tubig.

3. Residual waste o mga patapon na

Tuwing FRIDAY po ang collection ng mga basura. ‼️ At kung anong section po ang may pinaka maraming naipong papel at plastic bottles ay makakatanggap ng certificate. 👏🏼
