Project Implementation: July 9 - 28, 2024

As the new school year starts on July 29, SIKLAB Community is happy to announce the launch of 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗞𝗪𝗔𝗗𝗘𝗥𝗡𝗢𝗧𝗘: 𝗔 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗯𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗗𝗼𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗗𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗜𝗞𝗟𝗔𝗕 𝗕𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗻 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗕𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗸 𝗘𝘀𝗸𝘄𝗲𝗹𝗮 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰. This project will take place from July 9 to July 28, 2024.

Project KWADERNOTE is here to help selected students and pupils in Binan City by giving them the notebooks they need for school. A single notebook can make a big difference in a child's learning, and with your support, we can make this school year better for many students.

Last June 22, 2024, the 𝗡𝗲𝘅𝘁𝗚𝗲𝗻 𝗗𝗿𝗮𝗴 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗲𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 took place at the 3rd Floor Biñan People's Center, celebrating Pride with a call to all fierce queens to showcase their talent and fabulousness on stage.

Participants exuded charisma, adorned in glitter and heels, honoring the drag legacy, embracing diversity, and spreading love in every shade of the rainbow. The event highlighted self-expression, acceptance, and unity, emphasizing the beauty of individuality and the power of diversity.

The Next Drag Competition was more than a show; it was a statement of empowerment, love, and unapologetic identity expression. It captured the essence of drag - a celebration of uniqueness and courage, showcasing the transformative power of acceptance and love in the LGBTQ+ community.

In celebration of Pride Month this June, Youth Pride Biñan City organized a pioneering event in collaboration with the Biñan City Local Youth Development Council and Biñan City Youth and Sports Development Office. The highlight of the celebration was the inaugural "Usapang LGBT" forum held on June 22, 2024, at the 3rd Floor Biñan People's Center. This forum provided a vital platform for young LGBT individuals to discuss pertinent issues, share personal stories, and celebrate their identities.

The event featured esteemed speakers including Mx. Arvin Van Sumagaysay, First Runner Up, and Mx. Rhoma San Luis, crowned Ms. Biñan Gay Queen 2024. Their presence and contributions underscored the significance of visibility and empowerment within the LGBT community. Participants engaged in enriching discussions, fostering understanding, and promoting inclusivity among youth from Biñan City and neighboring areas.

The Youth Pride Celebration not only highlighted the achievements of LGBT individuals but also emphasized the community's commitment to acceptance and equality. By providing a safe space for dialogue and celebration, the event contributed to a more inclusive environment where diversity is celebrated and respected.

Moving forward, Youth Pride Biñan City remains dedicated to organizing events that advocate for the rights and well-being of all youth, ensuring Biñan City continues to be a place where everyone can proudly raise their flag.

KARAPATAN. Lahat tayo ay tao na dapat pinaglalaban! Kaya tama at dapat lamang na isabatas na ang karapatan ng lahat, lalo na para sa mga miyembro ng LGBTQIA+ Community. Kung ayaw man itong isabatas at kung ayaw niyo silang tanggapin, mainam na itigil na lamang ang pangungutya, pananakit, at pang-aalipusta dahil gaya niyo, tao rin sila at nasasaktan, at dapat respetuhin. Tandaan niyo, ang mga pinagtatawanan at sinasaktan niyong mga tao ay nagbibigay din ng tuwa sa mga tao at karangalan sa bansa. Ano man ang inyong pinaglalaban, lagi pa rin pakaisipin na lahat tayo ay pantay-pantay may batas man o wala. At lahat tayo ay may karapatan kahit ano pa ang kasarian.

Magnifying Love Over Anything

This poster celebrates the diverse and powerful forms of love that exist in our world. It emphasizes that love, in all its variations, deserves recognition, respect, and celebration. The message "love is love" highlights the universality of love, transcending boundaries of gender, sexuality, and identity. By magnifying love, it inspires acceptance and understanding, fostering a community of diversity.

RAINBOW RIGHTS

It is all about enjoying love in all its forms, advocating for the LGBT community's equal rights, and bringing attention to their causes. The colorful design conveys the idea that all people deserve respect and acceptance, regardless of their gender identity or sexual orientation. It also signifies diversity and inclusivity. I believe, In order to make the world a more welcoming and compassionate place for everyone, we should embrace equality, oppose discrimination, and take part in Pride Month festivities.

Digital Arts Competition 7:

This poster emphasizes the value of freedom and acceptance for LGBTQIA+ community. “𝗡𝗢𝗕𝗢𝗗𝗬 𝗦𝗛𝗢𝗨𝗟𝗗 𝗟𝗜𝗩𝗘 𝗜𝗡𝗦𝗜𝗗𝗘 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗖𝗟𝗢𝗦𝗘𝗧” calls for a society in which everyone can express themselves openly and proudly, without fear. By spotlighting this message, I hope to increase awareness of the issues that the LGBTQIA+ community faces and encourage a collaborative commitment to creating a more inclusive and supportive society. Serving as a reminder that acceptance and understanding are fundamental human rights, and that everyone is entitled to a life of honesty and self-respect. The poster's brilliant colors and expressive design capture the spirit of Pride, honoring variety and encouraging everyone to come out of their closets and embrace their true selves.

This Digital Art wants to champion Love, Diversity, and Acceptance. The message is clear, LET US LOVE ONE ANOTHER, LET US CELEBRATE DIVERSITY AND EMBRACE ONE ANOTHER WITH PRIDE. Nothing can hinder us from showing up and loving everyone no matter who they are.

Ang litratong ito ay isang bahagi ng isang pahayagan na pinamagatang "Buhay Bahaghari" na kung saan ang LGBTQIA+ community sa ating bansa ay patuloy na nakararanas ng iba't ibang uri ng problema katulad na lamang ng diskriminasyon. Maraming miyembro ng komunidad na ito ang humaharap sa pang-aapi at pangungutya sa ating lipunan. Marami rin sa kanila ang hindi nakakakuha ng sapat na proteksyon sa ilalim ng batas. Bukod dito, ang kakulangan ng kaalaman at pag-unawa ng publiko tungkol sa LGBTQIA+ ay nagdudulot ng stigma at maling paniniwala na nagiging sanhi ng diskriminasyon at marginalisasyon. Ang mga isyung ito ay nagpapahirap sa kanila na makamit ang tunay na pagkakapantay-pantay at pagtanggap sa lipunan. Sa kabila ng pagsubok na ito, patuloy na lumalaban ang LGBTQIA+ community para sa kanilang mga karapatan at pagkakilala, umaasang balang araw ay matatamo nila ang lipunang mas bukas at pantay para sa lahat.

Digital Arts Competition Entry 3:

"Honey, I am the Queen of Drag" -RuPaul in The tonight show starring Jimmy Fallon.

In the 1960s, drag culture became a crucial element of the LGBTQIA+ community symbolized resistance and self-expression during times of discrimination. Pioneers like Marsha P. Johnson a prominent figure in the Stonewall Riots represented drag's role in the fight for LGBTQIA+ rights.

This piece is about "Drag" being more accepted and appreciated as a form of art by the society. My artwork is inspired by Drag Queens, celebrating their bold styles and unique personalities.

In the piece, I included a Ladybug both names (Lady bug, Drag Queen) have a sense of femininity. "Lady" implying grace and elegance while "Queen" meaning power and regality. A clam to symbolized the saying "Inner beauty is more important than outer beauty," reminding us that who we are inside is what matters the most.

Also a peacock, both are the best at showing the world attention-grabbing appearances colorful with much pride and confidence. Similar to Drag Queens with their extravagant costumes and make ups. Lastly, butterfly represents the journey of finding oneself. Though life is short what we do have a lasting impact.

Today, Drag Queens continue to push boundaries, challenge gender norms, and celebrate diversity. "RuPaul's Drag Race" have brought mainstream visibility, acceptance and better understanding of drag culture.

Through their art, Drag Queens honor the past and inspire the future generations to embrace their identities loud and proud.

As part of today's youth, it is very important for me to spread love and acceptance despite adversity. Because of this, I wanted to create something that will serve as a powerful reminder that Pride will always triumph over prejudice, and that Love, in all its forms, should always be celebrated.

Patuloy 'kong kukulayan ng pagmamahal ang mundo, sa ayaw mo man o sa gusto. Kaya kung galit ka sa kabaklaan ko, edi magalit ka. Basta't kung sarado ang isip mo, isara mo nalang rin ang bibig mo.

Let's honor the legacy of drag, embrace diversity, and spread love in every shade of the rainbow. Get your glitter, heels, and charisma ready because this is where the next generation of drag royalty shines bright!

𝗡𝗘𝗫𝗧 𝗚𝗘𝗡 𝗗𝗥𝗔𝗚 𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗣𝗘𝗧𝗜𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗠𝗘𝗖𝗛𝗔𝗡𝗜𝗖𝗦:
1. The competition is open to all LGBT Youth Drag Performers in Biñan City (ages 15-30).
2. Participants are limited to individual participants only. Group, institutional, or company submissions will not be accepted.
3. The theme of the Drag Competition is Heroes and Villains.
4. The competition shall be on June 22, 2024, 3:00 pm at the Biñan People’s Center Auditorium.
5. There will be two stages in the competition: Elimination Round and Final Sing-Off Challenge. In the elimination round, all participants will have the chance at the center stage. Five Contestants will be selected to advance to the Final Sing-Off Challenge. All scores will be back to zero by this time. The top three winners will be selected from this round.
6. Participants will be judged in the Elimination Round according to the following criteria:
• Drag Persona (Originality, charisma, and embodiment of a unique drag persona.) - 35 %
• Costume and Makeup (Creativity, attention to detail, and how well the look fits the chosen theme.) - 35 %
• Overall Impression (Wow factor, confidence, and ability to captivate the audience.) - 30%

For the Sing-Off Challenge, these will be the criteria:
• Performance (Stage presence, lip-syncing or live singing skills, choreography (if applicable), audience engagement, and overall entertainment value.) - 60%
• Overall Impression (Wow factor, confidence, and ability to captivate the audience.) - 40%

1. The competition is open to all Biñanense Youth (ages 15-30).
2. The theme of the competition should revolve around Pride Month, LGBTQ+ rights, equality, diversity, acceptance, or any related topics.
3. Entries are limited to individual participants only. Group, institutional, or company submissions will not be accepted.
4. Only one entry per participant is allowed.
5. The participants can use different applications (Canva, Photoshop, Picsart, etc.)
6. Specifications:
• Original artworks in the form of, but not limited to 2D or 3D Computer Graphics; dynamic painting; photo painting; any computer-generated graphics.
• High resolution JPEG or PNG format, with minimum dimensions of 1080 x 1920 pixels, and 300 dpi
• Maximum file size (for output and raw file) of 10MB
• Static digital image
• Accompanied by description of not more than 150 words
7. Disqualifications:
•Entries that were submitted in previous competitions, included in publications, or otherwise used for any commercial purpose.
• Entries with elements that may have intellectual property, trademark, and copyright issues.
• Animated or moving entries (GIFs)
• Manually generated and scanned artworks
• Artworks with explicit and malicious content
8. Entries will be judged according to the following criteria:
• Relevance to the theme: 30%
• Technical Execution/Creative use of digital media: 30%
• Originality: 20%
• Unity of composition of elements: 10%
• People’s engagement (FB reactions and shares): 10%

10. Deadline of submission of entries is until June 15, 2024, at 05:00 pm.

But it doesn’t stop there! We also celebrate the diverse range of heroes from classic animations to modern favorites - whether it’s the wisdom of Yoda in 'Star Wars' or the determination of Mulan in Disney’s classic tale.

1. The competition is open to all LGBT Biñanense Youth (ages 15-30).
2. Only one entry per participant is allowed.
3. Entries are limited to individual participants only. Group, institutional, or company submissions will not be accepted.
4. Each participant will portray any hero of their choice. They will have to create a tiktok video showcasing their costume and state how they can uplift the LGBTQIA+ community using their powers.
5. Video entries must be 60 seconds or 1 minute long.
6. Entries will be judged according to the following criteria:
• Creativity (30%)
• Advocacy Statement (30%)
• Accuracy to the Character Portrayed (40%)
• People’s engagement (Tiktok Views and Reacts): 10%
7. Participants must send their entries to [email protected] with the subject line and file name format: Cosplay_[Character]_[Name of Participants] (e.g., Cosplay_Darna_JoseLopez).
8. Deadline of submission of entries is until June 15, 2024, at 05:00 pm.
9. The decision of the Board of Judges is final and irrevocable.
