A devastating fire has left families in 𝐏𝐮𝐫𝐨𝐤 2, 𝐃𝐚𝐚𝐧𝐠 𝐌𝐞𝐫𝐤𝐚𝐝𝐨, 𝐁𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐲 𝐁𝐚𝐚𝐧 𝐑𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞, 𝐁𝐮𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐧 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲, in urgent need. We’re reaching out to gather any support that can help bring relief and comfort to those affected.

The final day was filled with energy and joy as we marked the end of our activity.

Together, we built more than just a house—𝘄𝗲 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝘁 𝗮 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿, 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗵𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆.

October 16, 2024— Father Saturnino Urios University’s annual Urian GK Community Build spearheads the opening of the 123rd University Days— Barangay Mahay, Butuan City

In the midst of the University foundation day, Gawad Kalinga Youth pursues FSUU's theme: Reimagining the Future: Thriving in Transitions, with its annual Community Build; as NSTP students and volunteers foster camaraderie by help build a home for the residents in Barangay Mahay.

The event was graced with the presence of University President, Rev. Fr. Randy Jasper C. Odchigue and Vice-President of Administrative and Student Affairs, Engr. Zenaida D. Azura.

We are looking for 𝙋𝘼𝙎𝙎𝙄𝙊𝙉𝘼𝙏𝙀 𝙑𝙊𝙇𝙐𝙉𝙏𝙀𝙀𝙍𝙎 to join the following committees: secretariat, technical, and food. Volunteers will also serve as event runners.

A wrap-up session of 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝟮 𝗼𝗳 𝗟𝗚𝗨 𝗕𝗨𝗧𝗨𝗔𝗡: 𝗖𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗖𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗹 𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗲𝘁𝘆 𝗢𝗿𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 yesterday!

A day filled with shared ideas, exchanged knowledge, and made valuable connections to come-up with the same objectives and that is to promote a policy advocacy that supports sustainable development and effective Civil Societies Organizations CSO) - Local Government Unit (LGU) partnership. From inspiring keynote sessions to engaging panel discussions and hands-on workshops, the event has truly been a journey of learning, growth, and collaboration.

What an unforgettable experience, indeed!
As we close the chapter on this awe-inspiring journey of 2-day training-workshop, we reflect on the significant success with hearts full of gratitude and minds packed with knowledge. From the powerful stories of how to empower the community to the practical tools for strengthening relationships, every moment resonated with the spirit of “Bayanihan”.

Indeed, a very significant event to bring together the brilliant minds and endeavors of various leaders to aim for an impact that changes the community, build a brighter future for our community, and support those in need.

Missed us? After some moments of sweet silence, FSUU Gawad Kalinga Youth is back—louder and prouder than ever!

Today, we’re buzzing with excitement as we wrap up Day 1 of our involvement in the 𝗟𝗚𝗨 𝗕𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗻: 𝗖𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗖𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗹 𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗲𝘁𝘆 𝗢𝗿𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀.

This two-day training-workshop has brought together an incredible lineup of local leaders, movers, and shakers from all corners of Butuan and beyond. Among those attending are our brilliant minds from 𝗟𝗚𝗨 𝗕𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗻, 𝗗𝗧𝗜 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗮, 𝗙𝗦𝗨𝗨 𝗙𝗜, 𝗖𝗔𝗩𝗗, 𝗖𝗦𝗪𝗗 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗮, and—drumroll please—a number of 𝗯𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗮𝘆 𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹𝘀 from across the city. Talk about power-packed! The event is hosted at the FSUU AVR 2, which was buzzing with energy all day long.

So, what’s on the agenda, you ask? These Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) and Local Government Units (LGUs) aren’t just sitting around nodding politely—they’re rolling up their sleeves and diving into the nitty-gritty of partnership. They’re discussing how to level up their teamwork, strengthen collaboration, and advocate for policies that don’t just sound good on paper but actually drive sustainable development. Just pure, impactful change in the making.

And guess who’s playing a key role in all this magic? That’s right— 𝗚𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗱 𝗞𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗮 (𝗚𝗞) 𝗔𝗴𝘂𝘀𝗮𝗻 𝗗𝗲𝗹 𝗡𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗲 and our very own FSUU Gawad Kalinga Youth (GKY) officers and volunteers! Standing behind the scene, ensuring that the activity will run smoothly. The FSUU GKY, particularly, have assisted in the secretariat and documentation committees.

𝗕𝘂𝘁 𝗵𝗲𝘆, 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝟭! There’s plenty more excitement to come tomorrow, as these dynamic minds continue to brainstorm, collaborate, and build the future of CSO-LGU partnerships that work not just today but for the long haul.

We can’t wait to see what Day 2 brings! Until then, let’s keep the momentum strong and remember, —because 𝗻𝗼 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗴𝗲𝘁𝘀 𝗹𝗲𝗳𝘁 𝗯𝗲𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗷𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗲𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻.
