Let our hearts be filled with love for all our farmers as we celebrate Farmworker Appreciation Day today, August 6, 2024.

Let us become one as we recognize and honor the contributions of farmworkers to society. Today is also a day to raise awareness of the importance of agricultural workers and the challenges they face.

On June 21, 2024, UMA-Uswag conducted a successful one day session focusing on the future of agriculture with the youth of Barangay Tablon, Cagayan de Oro City, Misamis Oriental. He is also the current Associate Treasurer of the College of Agriculture Student Council Organization (COASCO). To add, he is also the Public Relations Officer of CMU-Musuan Karatedo Club.

Francis graduated 𝗠𝗮𝗴𝗻𝗮 𝗖𝘂𝗺 𝗟𝗮𝘂𝗱𝗲 from 𝗕𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗔𝗴𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲, 𝗠𝗮𝗷𝗼𝗿 𝗶𝗻 𝗖𝗿𝗼𝗽 𝗦𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲. He was also recognized as the 𝗖𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀 𝗩𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗕𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵 2023 𝗼𝗳 𝗨𝗦𝗧𝗣 𝗖𝗹𝗮𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗮.

It had always been a Filipino New Year Tradition to have a bowl of round fruits on the Media Noche table. This bowl of 12 fruits is said to bring good luck, and has always been a task to complete those numbers. This also includes the tradition of eating grapes at the stroke of midnight is believed to welcome good fortune and prosperity in the new year.
