Partaker of God’s divine nature!
Before believing and following God during my Junior High School, and Senior high school days I had a foul mouth and was always acting rashly.
I would degrade people, question them, and even go the extra mile to bully them.
However, when I encountered and believed in God during college, I tried my very best to follow Him. Little by little the way I speak, the words I say and my actions have changed. Even my mom commented one time
“Murag naay na utro sa imoha kuya”.
I have control of my emotions, I don’t flare up or get upset easily. My foul-mouthedness became upbuilding words, and my actions rallied for the betterment of others. It was a 180-degree turn. I get to credit all these with self-control. But honestly, it was challenging at first. Needing to be conscious of my words and try not to speak badly since bad words come out naturally of my mouth before. Conscious of my actions as well to act out of love. 💖
𝐒𝐞𝐥𝐟-𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐥 𝐢𝐬 𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐚𝐬 𝐰𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐰 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐋𝐨𝐫𝐝. From 2 Peter 1:3” 𝘏𝘪𝘴 𝘥𝘪𝘷𝘪𝘯𝘦 𝘱𝘰𝘸𝘦𝘳 𝘩𝘢𝘴 𝘨𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘯 𝘶𝘴 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘸𝘦 𝘯𝘦𝘦𝘥 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘭𝘪𝘧𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘨𝘰𝘥𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘬𝘯𝘰𝘸𝘭𝘦𝘥𝘨𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘏𝘪𝘮 𝘸𝘩𝘰 𝘤𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘦𝘥 𝘶𝘴 𝘣𝘺 𝘏𝘪𝘴 𝘰𝘸𝘯 𝘨𝘭𝘰𝘳𝘺 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘦𝘹𝘤𝘦𝘭𝘭𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦” Yet we also need to make an effort this self-control kicks in.
I pray brothers and sisters that we may continue to grow as disciples through self-control and continue to become God’s light and image in this world through our words and actions. 🙏💙
𝗦𝗘𝗟𝗙-𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗧𝗥𝗢𝗟: 𝗔 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝘁𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘆 𝗞𝘂𝘆𝗮 𝗔𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗹𝗼 𝗭𝗮𝘆𝗻𝗲 𝗩𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗻𝘂𝗲𝘃𝗮
Lately, work has been busy and quite stressful. Physically, we meet deadlines here and there, have classes 8 hours a day use our voice most of the time, move from one building to another, deal with students, have meetings in between, and much more. But it has also been difficult mentally and emotionally, as I've been a sounding gong of one colleague of the many complaints this person had at work. Sometimes it takes a toll on me, I'd be drained in the middle of the day because of it. And there are many instances when the urge to be frank and mean lingers in the back of my mind.
However, in Galatians 5:22-23 it says "𝘉𝘶𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘧𝘳𝘶𝘪𝘵 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘚𝘱𝘪𝘳𝘪𝘵 𝘪𝘴 𝘭𝘰𝘷𝘦, 𝘫𝘰𝘺, 𝘱𝘦𝘢𝘤𝘦, 𝘱𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦, 𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘥𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘴, 𝘨𝘰𝘰𝘥𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘴, 𝘧𝘢𝘪𝘵𝘩𝘧𝘶𝘭𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘴, 𝘨𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘭𝘦𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘴, 𝘴𝘦𝘭𝘧-𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘳𝘰𝘭; 𝘢𝘨𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘴𝘵 𝘴𝘶𝘤𝘩 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘪𝘴 𝘯𝘰 𝘭𝘢𝘸".
Gentleness, by definition, is the quality of being kind or mild-mannered. But as a fruit of the Holy Spirit, 𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐢𝐬 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐞𝐝 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧 𝐉𝐞𝐬𝐮𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐢𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐨𝐧𝐥𝐲 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐛𝐲 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞. Who else then is love but God himself. Embodying gentleness meant embodying love, embodying God. 💖
I realized that it is straightforward to be gentle to people we care for and love. But what about those whom we do not know much? Just like my colleague. It is His desire that we follow him; by grace, we can be gentle in everything we say and do. We'll never know how far embodying gentleness would go, as our lives were made to be light to others. 😇🫶
Let us all be smitten with gentleness!

C'YA there, brothers and sisters!🤩
Catch our brothers and sisters at USTP! 🤩💯
In the second quarter of 2022, my family faced a health crisis. That year, which was meant to be exciting due to my upcoming graduation, turned challenging. My father became seriously ill, and thesis issues threatened my graduation. My faith was tested to the core.
Overwhelmed and anxious, I wondered if I would graduate and if my father would still be there. I felt like I was in troubled waters. However, I felt a strong urge to pray, so I prayed the rosary daily, often falling asleep with it. Holding the rosary gave me peace as if I'm holding both hands of Jesus and mother Mary. I kept my faith, trusting that God would carry us through the crisis. 💯
Months later, I graduated, and my father recovered. God is indeed the God of miracles (Matthew 19:26). I knew it. 𝐆𝐨𝐝 𝐢𝐬 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧 𝐦𝐞. 𝐃𝐞𝐞𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐲 𝐟𝐚𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐬𝐮𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠. I pray that you, too, brothers and sisters, may see suffering as a chance to deepen your faith and witness God's faithfulness. After all those happenings, I realized that, 𝘈𝘭𝘭 𝘮𝘺 𝘭𝘪𝘧𝘦, 𝘏𝘦 𝘩𝘢𝘴 𝘣𝘦𝘦𝘯 𝘧𝘢𝘪𝘵𝘩𝘧𝘶𝘭. 𝘛𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘴𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘣𝘦 𝘦𝘯𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘮𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘳𝘦𝘮𝘢𝘪𝘯 𝘧𝘢𝘪𝘵𝘩𝘧𝘶𝘭 𝘢𝘴 𝘸𝘦𝘭𝘭 🙏

C'YA there, brothers and sisters!🤩
Freshman year. Dreams are as bright as the shiny taraflex court, visions of becoming a pro volleyball player, then a great lawyer – a path I believed would honor God's goodness in my life. This was the plan, meticulously crafted, the map to my happiness.
One crisp morning in a Crossroads Retreat in Antipolo organized by Christ’s Youth in Action. Under the sheltering arms of an ancient tree, a different path unfolded, revealing the even greater goodness of God. Tears streamed down my face as I surrendered, not in defeat, but in a revelation of a deeper truth. Yes, volleyball ignited a thrill, law school promised prestige, but true joy, I realized, resided not in trophies and personal achievements but in the steady embrace of God's grace.
That day, I relinquished control, surrendering my thoroughly conceived life roadmap – volleyball, law school, the entire script. It wasn't easy. 𝐁𝐮𝐭 𝐚 𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐬𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐥𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝐦𝐲 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐭, 𝐚 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐆𝐨𝐝, 𝐢𝐧 𝐇𝐢𝐬 𝐢𝐧𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐠𝐨𝐨𝐝𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬, 𝐡𝐚𝐝 𝐚 𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐧. 𝐈 𝐟𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝐦𝐲 “𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐥 𝐨𝐟 𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭 𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐞”, 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐣𝐨𝐲 𝐈 𝐜𝐫𝐚𝐯𝐞𝐝, 𝐈 𝐮𝐧𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐝 𝐚 𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐲 𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐡𝐲 𝐨𝐫 𝐝𝐞𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐞.
Six years later, the trophies and diplomas remain unclaimed. I'm not the athlete I envisioned, law books I yearned to read never touched even the palms of my hands. Yet, I have immensely experienced God’s goodness by the time I surrendered my plans… Leading me to serve Him now as a Youthworker, a role that allows me to share the goodness of God to the young people.

As Christians, we believe that prayer is our most powerful tool in times of uncertainty and conflict.
Therefore, brothers and sisters, now more than ever, as tensions continue to rise over the West Philippine Sea, the best course of action for us is to earnestly pray.
𝐋𝐞𝐭 𝐮𝐬 𝐢𝐧𝐯𝐨𝐤𝐞 𝐆𝐨𝐝'𝐬 𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐠𝐮𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐛𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐚 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐞𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐚𝐬 𝐰𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 "𝐎𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨 𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐚 𝐢𝐧 𝐓𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐓𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧" 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐩𝐫𝐚𝐲𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞𝐬. 🙏🏼

Our block screening of Inside Out 2 is finally done. 🫶 A heartfelt thanks to everyone who came and made this event unforgettable.
Indeed, this block screening is even more memorable with your support and presence. ❤️
Check out these pics from last week’s ganap! 📸
I remember one day, during a phone call at work amid a chaotic period, I was on the verge of reprimanding a colleague for an urgent request that demanded my immediate attention. With a backlog of tasks and numerous demands, I felt overwhelmed by yet another favor that required my time. Despite my exhaustion, I suppressed the urge to decline and instead agreed, recognizing the urgency of their need and reminded him still of accountability.
As I hesitated, contemplating about my response, he murmured, "Kapoya gyud kaayo krun nga adlaw uy," (Today is truly very exhausting). Hearing that as if he was on the brink of giving up, I pondered on the potential consequences of responding with anger. I realized that it would only escalate the situation, making it worse.
I could have allowed exhaustion to consume me, but I realized the best thing to do in that situation is to respond with kindness. I knew I needed to help & I was able to respond only because of grace and strength from God. I remembered, in the little mundane things I do at work or whatever it may be, 𝐈 𝐚𝐦 𝐭𝐨 𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝐚 𝐂𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐰𝐚𝐲.
Reflecting on the incident, I remembered what St. Augustine said, "𝘙𝘦𝘴𝘱𝘰𝘯𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘰 𝘦𝘷𝘪𝘭 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘦𝘷𝘪𝘭 𝘤𝘢𝘯 𝘤𝘢𝘶𝘴𝘦 𝘥𝘦𝘷𝘢𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯. 𝘖𝘯𝘭𝘺 𝘨𝘰𝘰𝘥𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘤𝘢𝘯 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘲𝘶𝘦𝘳 𝘦𝘷𝘪𝘭." And I thought, how would Jesus respond to situations like that? Surely kindness and mercy! We are Christians and we are to called follow how Jesus would respond too in situations like this, through and by his grace. 😇💖

Who’s that saint?👀
St. Paul of Tarsus🗡️
Feast day: June 29
Saint Paul is one of the most important and influential of all the saints. He experienced a powerful vision that caused him to convert to Christianity. He was the ultimate missionary, travelled the world to preach the Gospel.
He managed to establish numerous Churches. Paul remained in communication with the faithful, often writing letters to answer questions and resolve disputes. He was even imprisoned for preaching. Despite these imprisonments, Paul continued to preach.
As we continue with our mission, don’t give up when things are hard. Let us help everyone grow spiritually so they can help others.
May is ending…

Every 30th of December, Chali Beach Resort hosts a Kids Party for ages 6 to 12 in Barangay Cugman to give back to the community for the Blessings they received, attended by 400 – 600 kids in the Barangay. They have been doing this for 40+ years. And CYA-CDO is always asked to facilitate and host this kid's party. Facilitating the games, and giving food, and gifts for these kids.
In 2019 CYA-CDO was asked to facilitate the kids' party and I was tasked to lead the team. I was very excited to lead the team, but our patience was tested on the same day as the other years. Encounter different attitudes of kids, some are not listening, and some are crying because they are separated from their parents. And also dealing with the parents waiting outside the venue wanting to come in. We had difficulty in settling them down and keeping their attention on the program.
Our patience was tested dealing with kids and parents, and it surely drains our energy. But seeing these kids smiling, enjoying the games and program, and being happy receiving gifts, some of them reaching out to us. It boosts our patience to reach out and relate with these kids. 🫶
Our Patience may be tested but the goal to give smile and make these kids happy is our reward. Our patience coming from the Lord allows us to serve these kids. I thank God for the grace to maintain our calmness and composure during the program, even facing challenges throughout the day. 𝐏𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐥𝐬𝐨 𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐰𝐬 𝐮𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐰𝐞 𝐝𝐨 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐋𝐨𝐫𝐝. Let’s continue to endure difficult challenges as we continue to follow the Lord. And for sure the Lord will be with us and will bless us. 🤗🥰
