About Us
ROTA Philippines Incorporated is a non-profit Non-Government Organization (NGO) composed of mountaineers and volunteers who promote environmental protection and preservation, advocates for health and education for indigenous children – primarily in Northern Mindanao, and initiates fundraising for children with medical needs and for disaster response. VISION
We dream for indigenous childre

n to have: a high sense of character and a solid understanding of environmental protection and conservation; and access to quality basic education. MISSION
We aim to form a community composed of volunteers who: instill values on environmental preservation; supplement initiatives and offer innovations on the primary education of Indigenous (Lumad) kids in Northern Mindanao. GOALS
ROTA outlines its goals based on its 4 pillars:
Rehabilitation,
• Promotes “nature” programs like reforestation and solid waste management to uplift both the quality of the environment and the quality of life in communities. Outreach,
•Encompasses the “nurture” programs – Supplementing Topnotch Attendance Year-round (STAY), with the specific addition of Hand-washing Tippy Tap Project (HTTP);
Team Management,
•Includes volunteer orientation, workshops, and team building to ensure our mountaineers/volunteers can effectively work together and meet high standards on and off elevations;
Assistance,
•Covers both relief operations and charity fundraisers as forms of direct relief to where help is most needed. CORE VALUES

The club has a lively atmosphere with plenty of sharp witted banter flying about, although it would be fair to warn you that the jokes are terrible! It can be a good way to meet like minded people and members of the club do organize climbing holidays and trips amongst themselves in addition to the monthly club meets. Basic Info:

In our climbs to some of the remotest
barangays in the Philippines,
we have seen a lot of despair.
We’ve also seen a lot of hope.
In the faces of parents, in the visions of elders,
in the eyes of the children.

Help us nurture those hopes.

With your help, we can reach out to them.
We will bring them pencils and paper to draw their dreams on.
Slippers to walk with dignity.
Toys to make them feel like the children they still are.

On February 5-6, Climb Against Cancer Pilipinas and ROTA Philippines Incorporated and volunteers are going to Maambong Elementary School and Balanban Child Development Center in Bukidnon. We aim to raise school kits, slippers, toys, and spaghetti meals for 300 learners.

We will soon be launching Lingap Lumad, our new program to uplift the everyday life and education of lumad students. This aims to teach them how to recycle and upcycle certain discarded or old materials to create products of value that they can market to visiting tourists, providing them with a new and sustainable source of income. So that when the time comes that we won’t be able to make our annual climbs anymore to bring educational supplies to them, they will be capable of sustaining themselves and their community with thriving livelihoods.

Here are some learning activities we will introduce with Lingap Lumad:

- Introduction to Baking
- Printmaking/Painting on canvas bags
- Upcycling of old tires, clothes
- Recycling of sachet packaging

We are collating painting materials: acrylic paints, paintbrushes, silkscreen, pencils, and sketchpads.

We are also trying to gather baking tools and equipment: oven, baking pans, whisks, spatula, rolling pin

We would like to treat the kids to a spaghetti and muffin party also after their training.
