Niadtong Pebrero 27, 2024, gipahigayon sa LGU sa CDO ang Awarding Ceremony sa Oro Kasanag Awards 2023, nga gipangulohan sa City Council for the Protection of Children (CCPC). Ang Barangay Canitoan usa sa mga awardees nga 2nd Placer sa Most Childfriendly Barangay ug nakadawat og minor award alang sa Outstanding Adolescent and Youth Friendly Health Facility.

Kini nga pag-ila nahimong posible pinaagi sa hiniusang paningkamot sa kanhi Sangguniang Barangay Council, pinangulohan ni Hon. Joshua Taboclaon, ang kanhi Sangguniang Kabataan, Barangay Children's Association, Barangay Council for the Protection of Children (BCPC), ug pribadong stakeholders.
Ang Canitoan padayon nga nag-ila sa importanteng papel sa kabataang Pilipino sa komunidad ug sibiko nga mga kalihokan.

Ang ilang presensya ug partisipasyon sa paghimog desisyon ug polisiya mahinungdanon sa paghulma sa mga programa, proyekto, ug mga kalihokan sa BLGU nga mahimong child-friendly.

𝗖𝗔𝗡𝗜𝗧𝗢𝗔𝗡 𝗥𝗘𝗠𝗔𝗜𝗡𝗦 𝗢𝗡 𝗧𝗢𝗣 𝗜𝗡 𝗢𝗥𝗢 𝗞𝗔𝗦𝗔𝗡𝗔𝗚 𝗔𝗪𝗔𝗥𝗗𝗦 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟯

On February 27, 2024, the LGU of CDO held the Awarding Ceremony of Oro Kasanag Awards 2023, led by the City Council for the Protection of Children (CCPC). Barangay Canitoan was among the awardees being the 2nd Placer for Most Childfriendly Barangay and a recipient of a minor award for Outstanding Adolescent and Youth Friendly Health Facility.

This recognition was made possible through the collaborative efforts of the former Sangguniang Barangay Council, headed by Hon. Joshua Taboclaon, the former Sangguniang Kabataan, the Barangay Children's Association, the Barangay Council for the Protection of Children (BCPC), and private stakeholders.

Canitoan continuously recognizes the important role of Filipino children has to play in community and civic affairs. Their presence and participation in decision and policy-making is crucial in shaping the programs, projects, and activities of the BLGU to be child-friendly.
