'CCTV ordinance' seeks to boost construction safety in Cebu City To improve safety for construction workers in Cebu City, Councilor Rey Gealon proposed installing CCTV cameras.

NEWS UPDATE: Cebu City’s Office of the Building Official reports a total revenue of ₱9,875,877.77 for July 2024.

Meanwhile, OBO’s total revenue from January to July of this year amounted to ₱98,899,233.53, or ₱6,801,681.91 more than the same period in 2023, which is ₱92,097,551.62.

Starting August 1, 2024, the Office of the Building Official (OBO) will only process and evaluate permit application done online, or through obo.cebucity.gov.ph.

This is in compliance with Republic Act 11302 (Ease of Doing Business and Efficient Government Service Delivery Act of 2018) “to eradicate corruption, reduce red tape, and expedite services”.

Nisaka og kapin 10 porsiyento ang nakolekta sa Office of the Building Official (OBO) sa Kagamhanan sa Dakbayan sa Sugbo sa unang unom ka mga buwan sa 2024 itandi sa samang panahon sa 2023.

Kini maoy unod sa taho nga gipadangat ni Ar. Florante Catalan, ang labaw sa OBO, ngadto kang Acting Mayor Raymond Alvin Garcia, nga pinetsahan og Hunyo 20, 2024.

Sigon sa maong report, nakakolekta ang OBO og P78.723 milyones gikan sa Enero hangtud Hunyo sa niaging tuig. Sa samang mga buwan karong tuiga, naabot ang nakolekta niini og P86.845 milyones, o nilabaw og P8.123 milyones.

Ang maong kantidad tukma nga 10.32 porsiyento nga pagsaka gikan sa collection sa OBO sa 2023.

“OBO Cebu City is pleased to announce that our revenue for January to June 2024 has reached 86 million pesos. This represents a significant increase from the 78 million pesos recorded during the same period in 2023,” ingon ni Catalan.

Ang collection sa OBO naggikan sa bayad sa mga nanguha og mga permit, sama sa building, occupancy, electrical, demolition, fencing, business, streamer, ug uban pa.

Sigon sa report, ang labing dako nga tinubdan sa collection mao ang business permit (P37.988 milyones) ug gisundan sa annual permit (P20.221 milyones), building permit (P15.216 milyones), occupancy permit (P8.101 milyones), ug permit to operate (P4.122 milyones).

Pulong ni Catalan daghang mga rason nganong nisaka ang ilang collection, apan dakong hinungdan niini mao ang pagpatuman nila og mas sayon ug yano nga proseso ug ang digital nga pamaagi nga ilang gipatuman, kay kini nakaagni nga mang-apply gyud og permit.

Laing hinungdan nga iyang gitumbok mao ang mas istrikto nga pagpatuman sa Building Code, nga niresulta sa mas daghang mga developer ug mga tag-iya og propriedad nga nangtuman.

Gitumbok sab niya ang maayong dagan sa ekonomiya sa Sugbo.

“The economic boom in Cebu City has led to an increase in construction activity, resulting in an increase in the number of permits applied,” asoy ni Catalan.

Ikaupat niyang gitudlo nga hinungdan mao ang pagpatuman nila sa “one-stop service” nga nagpasayon sa pagproseso sa mga permit ug nagpahapsay sa mga transaksiyon.
