𝑵𝒐𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒊𝒔 𝒎𝒐𝒓𝒆 𝒃𝒆𝒂𝒖𝒕𝒊𝒇𝒖𝒍 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒏 𝒂 𝒄𝒉𝒆𝒆𝒓𝒇𝒖𝒍 𝒈𝒊𝒗𝒆𝒓.

𝐈𝐍 𝐏𝐇𝐎𝐓𝐎𝐒: The Rise Above Foundation - Cebu (RAFC) convenes yet again another feeding event which is sponsored this time by the Igot Family which took place at the Rise Above Community Center in Sambag II, Guadalupe, Cebu.

The Igot Family, which came all the way from New Jersey, takes the initiative to lend a helping hand as they feed 40 children belonging to the surrounding community of the foundation’s community center.

The initiative is backed by the family’s heart to give as Samantha, the family’s mother, mentioned “𝑬𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒚 𝒕𝒊𝒎𝒆 𝒎𝒖 𝒗𝒊𝒔𝒊𝒕 𝒎𝒊 𝒌𝒂𝒚 𝒃𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒌 𝒃𝒂𝒚𝒂𝒏 𝒎𝒂𝒏 𝒎𝒊… 𝒈𝒂𝒏𝒂𝒉𝒂𝒏 𝒎𝒊 𝒎𝒂𝒈 𝒐𝒖𝒕𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒄𝒉 𝒑𝒂𝒓𝒂 𝒎𝒂𝒌𝒂𝒌𝒊𝒕𝒂 𝒂𝒏𝒈 𝒎𝒈𝒂 𝒃𝒂𝒕𝒂 𝒏𝒂 𝒎𝒂𝒂𝒚𝒖 𝒈𝒚𝒖𝒅 𝒎𝒖 𝒕𝒂𝒃𝒂𝒏𝒈”. (Every time we visit since we’re balikbayan… we want to do an outreach for out children to see that it’s really good to help).

Another highlight from the event is how the children of the Igot Family demonstrates to the children how to properly wash your hands, what to do if you got stung by a bee, what to do if you have a nose-bleed, and lastly what to do when someone else is choking. This initiative helps raise awareness among the children of Rise Above for them to be equipped with the knowledge of what to do when certain situations like this arise in the future.

Samantha also shares her sentiment about doing this type of work is essential as it ensures that her children, as well as those children who lived a privileged life, will stay rooted to gratitude, and to prevent them from taking things for granted.

✨ Exciting Update from RAFC Family Care Center! ✨

As we bid farewell to January and February, we reflect on the incredible moments and invaluable partnerships that have enriched our community here at RAFC Family Care Center. We are beyond grateful for the unwavering support of our Japanese volunteers and their families who have brought an abundance of joy and generosity to our programs.

In January, we had the pleasure of hosting 18 enthusiastic Japanese students who not only brought their vibrant energy but also dedicated their time to engage, teach, and uplift our young ones. Their presence brought smiles and laughter, creating lasting memories for both the children and our volunteers.

We were touched by the generosity of our Japanese friends who went above and beyond to support our community. From teaching sessions to sharing healthy meals, and even donating rice and food supplies to our scholars, their kindness and dedication have left an indelible mark on our hearts.

Moreover, Japanese friends and their teachers invited along 18 college students from the Scholars of Education Sponsorship Program to a heartwarming dinner at SM Mall. The camaraderie and connection shared undoubtedly made it an unforgettable experience for these scholars!

Lastly, the rice given to the kids was donated by Sofia, a generous lady who donates rice every month to Family Care Center.

Thank you to all our volunteers and everyone who has played a part in our journey so far. Here's to many more moments of collaboration, compassion, and growth in the months to come! 🙌💖

A Heartfelt Thank You to Our Incredible Japanese Volunteers from Kunan University Students & THT Delegates! 🇯🇵🎉

We want to extend our deepest gratitude to the amazing team of volunteers from Kunan University Students & THT Delegates for organizing a truly unforgettable event at Rise Above Community Center (RACC) this February 2024!

Their passion and kindness knew no limits as they fed thirty children and helped the slum neighborhood, taught them the craft of origami, and encouraged creativity with painting and spider thread activities.

Their efforts didn't stop there! With a hot meal of "Lugaw" served to 300 individuals, followed by delightful playtime with the children and a mesmerizing dance presentation, they brought immense joy and warmth to everyone at RACC.

The smiles and laughter of the children speak volumes about the impact of their kindness and compassion. Thank you, Japanese volunteers, for making this day so special and memorable for all! 🌟
