Patuloy ang pagtaas ng kaso ng dengue sa iba’t ibang bahagi ng bansa. Ilang paalala po upang maiwasan natin ito! Kung napansin ninyo na mayroon kayong symptoms, magpa-check agad sa doktor o sa pinakamalapit na health center.

Kasabay ng National Lung Month, ginugunita natin ang National Tuberculosis Day ngayong August 19. Ito po ang ilang mga paalala tungkol sa tuberculosis o TB!

Hindi matutumbasan ang nutrisyon at proteksyon na ibinibigay ng breastfeeding kay baby, pati na rin ang pagpapatibay nito sa relasyon ng mag-ina.

Ngayong National Breastfeeding Awareness Month, narito ang mga dagdag kaalaman tungkol sa breastfeeding!

Since our assumption of the Chairperson role for the Committee on Health last May 2024, these have been our priorities and progress in the Bangsamoro Parliament until July 2024.

These were made possible through the help of our fellow legislators MP Macasalong, MP Malik and MP Pacasem, the Vice-Chairpersons of the COH, of MP Ampatuan, MP Ambolodto and MP Uy-Oyod, our Special Subcommittee Chairpersons, and the rest of our Committee membership.

Nakaka-miss balikan ang naging unang opisina natin! Matapos ang public hearing noong August 8 ay dumalaw tayo sa Regional Health Unit (RHU) - Northern Kabuntalan. Salamat po sa mga kwento at updates. Masaya po akong nagkita-kita tayo ulit!

Naging matagumpay ang public consultation natin sa Northern Kabuntalan tungkol sa PB 139 o ang panukalang batas sa pagpapatayo ng isang general hospital dito. Mahigit 1,000 residente mula sa iba't ibang sektor ang dumalo at aktibong nagbahagi ng kanilang mga tanong at saloobin.

Gaya po ng nabanggit natin dati, binibigyan nating prayoridad ang hospital bills sa loob ng ating termino sa Committee on Health. Ito ay bilang tugon sa pangangailangan ng Bangsamoro na magkaroon ng isang maaasahang hospital system sa buong rehiyon.

Maraming salamat po sa inyong mainit na pagtanggap at sa ipinakitang suporta sa pagsabatas ng PB 139!

Balikan natin ang naging takbo ng Q2 2024!

Ito po ang mga naabot ng ating opisina mula April to June ngayong taon. Naging posible ang lahat ng ito dahil sa dedikasyon ng HND Team at sa kooperasyon ng mga opisina at ahensyang naging partners natin.

This week is National Hospital Week!

Accessible, reliable, and well-equipped hospitals are the beating heart of a robust healthcare system. At present, we only have 46 health facilities in the Bangsamoro region. That is why in the Committee on Health, we are prioritizing the passage of our health bills that aim to either establish new hospitals or upgrade the capacities of existing ones. These will be essential in filling in the current gaps in our healthcare system.

This National Hospital Week, we would also like to express our deep appreciation for the services of our hospital and health workers. Maraming salamat po!

Alhamdulillah at natapos na po tayo sa panghuling public hearing ng PB 164 o ang Bangsamoro Fast Food Labeling Act.

Nagpapasalamat ako sa lahat ng mga dumalo at nakibahagi sa ating public hearings, sa ating mga stakeholders at mga experts na aktibong nagbigay ng kanilang inputs at suggestions, pati na rin sa mga grupo at institusyon na nagbigay ng kanilang position papers. Maraming salamat rin sa Committee on Trade, Industry, and Tourism, sa pangunguna ni MP Marjanie Macasalong, sa paglunsad ng matagumpay na series ng public consultations.

Ang layunin po ng PB 164 ay magkaroon ng proper labeling ang ating mga pagkain sa fast food para malaman ng customer kung ito ay mayroong pork. Ang susunod na hakbang ay ang Committee deliberations.

The incorporation of the climate agenda is integral in establishing a safe and climate-resilient Bangsamoro.

On July 12-13, 2024, MP Malik, MP Mawalil and I took part in the regional conference entitled “Climate Resilience in Southeast Asia: Strengthening the Role of Parliamentarians” held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The event was an avenue for us to learn from other leaders and to strengthen our position. In this conference, we have reiterated our stance in prioritizing the climate agenda as we continue to develop policies in the Bangsamoro region. The recent onslaught of heavy rains and flooding in Lanao del Sur and Maguindanao del Norte only underscored the urgent need for comprehensive strategies to mitigate and adapt to the impacts of climate change.

I am grateful to have been afforded this enriching opportunity as we continue to formulate legislation for the region. This event was organized by the ASEAN Parliamentarians for Human Rights (APHR).

Salamat sa inyong suporta sa ating activities ngayong Nutrition month! Sa pagtatapos ng buwan na ito, narito ang ilang trivia tungkol sa nutrisyon at pagkain. Alin dito ang bagong impormasyon para sayo?

Ang diabetes mellitus ay itinala bilang pang-apat na leading cause of death sa ating bansa noong 2023. Kasabay ng Diabetes Awareness Week, palawakin natin ang ating kaalaman tungkol sa sakit na ito!

Naging makabuluhan ang pagtatapos ng linggong ito. Nakapaglunsad tayo ng live cooking contest para ngayong Nutrition month, tinalakay natin sa Committee on Health ang tatlong panukalang batas para sa pagpapagawa ng mga bagong ospital, at naisalang na sa third public hearing ang ating PB 164 o ang Bangsamoro Fast Food Labeling Act.

Sa natitirang halos 12 months ng ating termino, pagsisikapan at paghuhusayan pa natin ang ating serbisyo para mapatatag pa ang pundasyon ng health and nutrition dito sa Bangsamoro.

PRESS RELEASE: On its second round of public hearings for PB No. 164, or the Bangsamoro Fast Food Labeling Act, the Committee on Trade, Investment, and Tourism involved officials and other stakeholders from various BARMM ministries and other popular food chains in Cotabato City.

A representative from the Jollibee Cotabato Group, which owns the franchise of some of popular fast food chains in Cotabato City, such as Jollibee, Greenwich, Chowking, and Red Ribbon, disclosed that they do not serve any pork-containing products, highlighting their support for PB No. 164.

COH Update

Our heartfelt gratitude to the residents of Datu Blah Sinsuat for their warm welcome and active participation in the recently concluded public hearing of the BTA Bill 123 or the Pura Municipal Act of 2022. This bill seeks to establish a municipal hospital in Datu Blah Sinsuat.

Datu Blah Sinsuat is one of the areas in the BARMM region that rely heavily on their respective rural health unit for their medical care. We are working on prioritizing the establishment of local hospitals to bring our health services closer to our people.

This event was also graced with the participation of our fellow lawmakers, and by various representatives from the local government health units and the Integrated Provincial Health Office.
