May 09, 2024, | The Province of Maguindanao del Norte conducted the Joint Social Protection Cluster Meeting for the second quarter together with the Provincial Gender and Development Coordinating Office (PGADCO) under the leadership of Governor Abdulraof "Gob Sam" Macacua at Conference Hall, Satellite Office of Maguindanao del Norte.

the Local Committees on Anti-Trafficking and Violence Against Women and their Children (LCAT-VAWC) and other stakeholders Provided their accomplished data and presentation at the meeting.

Dr. Tomanda D. Antok, PhD, represented by the PHRMO Monina Macarongon, MPA, highlighted the importance of:
Seizing opportunities in the 2nd quarter.
Reflecting on achievements and assessing strategies.
Emphasized the value of collective wisdom and dedication in improving the lives of Maguindanao del Norte residents.
Engr. Amina T. Dalandag, PhD, the Provincial Director of MILG, presented the CFLGA Result.

Summary: The 2nd Quarter Social Protection Cluster Meeting allowed stakeholders to collaborate, reflect, and strategize for community improvement. By working together with a shared vision and dedication, progress in social protection efforts in Maguindanao del Norte is within reach.

Through the UNICEF and in partnership with the Ministry of Social Services and Development (MMSD), Conducted a "Workshop Harmonization and Review of Child Protection (CP) and Gender-Based Violence (GVB) Case Management Tools and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)" for key child Protection technical Staff and case workers from the Regional, Provincial, and selected Municipalities/Cities with high prevalence rate of CP and GBV cases. The PGADCO (Provincial Gender and Development Coordinating Office) actively attended and participated in the Three-day Training Workshop held on April 23-25, 2024 at Paragon Hotel, Cotabato City.

In this training, participants from Maguindanao del Norte came together to address critical issues. focused on children’s rights, combating violence, and advancing the Gender and Development (GAD) Agenda.

The training and workshop focus on enhancing GAD (Gender and Development) accomplishments, planning, and budgeting for LGUs, with special emphasis on the Province of Maguindanao del Norte. This activity was initiated by the MILG (Ministry of the Interior and Local Government) in Maguindanao, BARMM.

The training focuses on enhancing the GAD (Gender and Development) plan and budget for the year 2024 and other years, while also empowering gender equality and benefiting children in Maguindanao del Norte and sustainability of the program, development of a work plan. the enhance essential services, we adopt a multi-sectoral approach that prioritizes the Activity of health, nutrition, education, child protection, social policy, and, gender development.

N PHOTOS|| The Provincial Gender and Development Coordinating Office actively attended and participated the Inception Workshop for UNICEF-KOICA Programme on February 27, 2024 at Koronadal City. The workshop regards to the implementation of the project co-funded by the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) entitled "Supporting peacebuilding through strengthening essential services for vulnerable children and adolescents in Maguindanao and Cotabato City, BARMM," highlighting a multi-sectoral approach focusing on revitalizing the essential services for health, nutrition, WASH/climate, education, child protection and social policy.

The objective of the Workshop/project is to ensure inclusivity, strengthened collaboration and sustainability of the programme, development of a workplan.

The participants of the Workshop together with the Maguindanao del Norte participants developed a strategic workplan and detailed activities which are aligned with the project objectives.

LOOK|| The Provincial Gender and Development Coordinating Office successfully spearheaded the Kick-Off and Parade of the Women's Month Celebration 2024 of Maguindanao del Norte with the recurring theme: Lipunang Patas sa Bagong Pilipinas: Kakayahan ng Kababaihan Patutunayan" in collaboration with the Bangsamoro Women Commission - BARMM as the coordinator and organizer together with the Ministries/Agencies/Offices of BARMM.

Department and Program Heads with their staff of the Provincial Government of Maguindanao del Norte attended and participated in the said activity.

LOOK| The Provincial Gender and Development Coordinating Office (PGADCO) participated in the Training - Workshop on Gender Responsive Policy Development on Food Security and Agriculture Response and Preparedness During Humanitarian Setting conducted by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) on February 26 - March 1, 2024 at Dusit Thani Residence Davao, Davao City.

The Municipal GAD Focal Person of Talitay and Datu Odin Sinsuat under the Province of Maguindanao del Norte also partaken in the Training - Workshop.

The FAO and UNFPA are jointly implenting the project Resilient Livelihoods Development for Women and Youth IDPs in the Municipalities of DOS and Talitay. To strengthen the capacities of the partners in the project, this Training - Workshop was initiated.

At the end of the Training - Workshop, gender issues was addressed and outputs will be the basis for the next Policy Making.

The Provincial Gender and Development Coordinating Office (PGADCO) attended the 1st Bangsamoro Gender and Development Committee (BGADC) Meeting of the Bangsamoro Women Commission (BWC-BARMM) held at Pagana Kutawato, Cotabato City to discuss the collaboration and participation of the Province of Maguindanao del Norte in regards to the upcoming celebration of the National Women's Month 2024.

February 16, 2024 | The Municipal Gender and Development (GAD) Association of Maguindanao del Norte initiated the conduct of the 1st Quarter Meeting of the Association together with the Provincial Gender and Development Coordinating Office (PGADCO) headed by the Provincial GAD Focal Person Abdulmanan F. Ito, MPA with his staff under the leadership of Governor Abdulraof "Gob Sam" Macacua at Conference Hall, Satellite Office of Maguindanao del Norte.

The agenda of the meeting was Women's Month Celebration, SEC registration of the Association, Benchmarking and other PPA's for GAD.

Provincial Administrator, Tomanda D. Antok, Ph.D. also attended the meeting and gave support to the Associations initiatives.

The meeting successfully concluded with a solid plan for the first quarter of the year and scheduled the next meetings of the Association.

𝐈𝐍 𝐏𝐇𝐎𝐓𝐎𝐒 | Governor Abdulraof “Gob Sam” Macacua has challenged the newly elected Liga ng Barangay (LNB) officers to foster peace and unity among their respective communities as he led their Oath Taking cm Installation of LNB President to Sangguniang Panlalawigan on Monday, January 22.

“Andito tayo ngayon upang mabago ang Maguindanao, matutupad lamang ito when we are united. Ang lahat ng kontribusyon natin is towards achieving peace..achieving unity...” The Governor stated.

According to him, one of the realities of our community is the divergence of views which impinges among all the sectors of the society. However, with harmony, unity can be forged notwithstanding the human tendency to differ.

“Hindi natin gaanong nabubuo ang unity dahil may mga indibidwal na ginagawa ang pulitika upang mag disunite tayo. May mga taong iba ang paniniwala na salungat sa kapayapaan. This is wrong. Politics should be used to unite the people. Kung may peace, the development will easily come. The formula now for Maguindanao del Norte is to have unity, peace, and development which equates to our dream—ang Premier Maguindanao del Norte. Ito ang direksyon natin.” He said.

He went on to urge the officers to remain steadfast in fulfilling their oath to be ethical and honorable public servants.

“You always have to consider the collective views of your constituents. Perform your mandated duties and responsibilities.”

Also present were Provincial Administrator Tomanda D. Antok, PhD, representatives of Ministry of Interior and Local Government (MILG), and Sangguniang Panlalawigan Officers.
