COTABATO CITY I Various officials from Philippine National Police Lanao del Sur, Maguindanao del Sur and Cotabato City as well as Police Regional Office-BARMM, selected Local Government Unit of Lanao del Sur and Maguindanao, Coconut Farmer Organization leaders, Ministry of Environment, Natural Resources and Energy (MENRE)-BARMM and PCA XIV-BARMM PCA-PCA Xiv-Armm PO LDS and PCA-Maguindana participate in the Stakeholders Forum of the Revised Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR) of RA 8048 as amended by RA 10593 at EM Manor Hotel and Convention Hotel August 12, 2024.

As the prelude to the 38th National Coconut Month Celebration, PCA XIV-BARMM headed by Acting Regional Manager Datumanong Unos Pendi starter the week-long celebration through a stakeholders forum on the Revised IRR of RA 8048 as amended by RA 10593. The forums serves as a platform to all concerned stakeholders of the bottlenecks that the PCA encounter in the enforcement of the said law. The Revised IRR was presented by the Acting Project Development Officer IV Lester Jake C. Dela Serna of its salient features. During the discussion, PNP Lanao del Sur and Maguindanao del Sur inquired of how to spot authentic as that of forged Permits to Cut and Transport Permits.

The invited guests have positively acceded of the revised IRR and how the PCA and its partners shall collaborate to effectively enforce the law. It was in their messages of support that their respective office shall diligently advocate the coconut preservation within the bounds of law and that they shall recognize PCA as the lead agency who shall implement this law.

The same stakeholders forum shall be done also in the provinces of Basilan, Sulu and Tawi Tawi in the coming months to strengthen our collaboration not only within BARMM provinces, as well its neighboring provinces and regions.
