We recently checked with all of our courier services and logistics providers, and unfortunately, they are still affected by the flood and are currently stranded in Camarines Sur. The roads leading to Manila are still impassable, resulting in no movement of vehicles as the main roads remain submerged in water. While we strive for timely deliveries, we understand that this situation is beyond our control and we put our trust in the Lord who determines the timeline. During this unforeseen break, we are focusing on the positives and grateful for the opportunity to rest our weary bodies. Although Typhoon Kristine has passed, it has left us with a significant amount of cleanup and has caused devastation within our community. Despite these challenges, we find solace in the fact that we have all survived, and we choose to prioritize what is truly valuable as material possessions can always be replaced. We remain hopeful for the day when we can resume our normal operations. In the meantime, we draw strength from God’s grace as we navigate through feelings of discouragement and anxiety, knowing that He is ultimately in control.

For the past few days, I have been operating on autopilot to keep things running smoothly in the midst of the storm. Since typhoon Kristine hit, we have shut down all operations and have been dealing with the aftermath such as damaged goods, delayed shipments, and courier services stuck in Camsur and Quezon Provinces. The pressure has been intense, and I have been relying on faith to carry me through.

Today, we have decided to slowly resume our activities despite the lack of electricity and ongoing rain. I am struck by a mix of grief and gratitude. I am reminded of how fortunate we are that all members of our community are safe, even amidst the challenges.

Although I may feel inclined to vent frustrations and assign blame, I recognize the need to be grateful for our safety in the face of the storm, landslides, and flooding. I am exhausted and no longer wish to solely focus on being resilient or determined. It is time for proactive action and accountability.

As a community leader, I feel a sense of responsibility to mobilize and advocate for change. I am determined to educate our community members to make informed decisions and seek leaders who prioritize accountability and have specific plans in place.

We choose to be strong but we are already tired and weary. It is time to move beyond temporary solutions and focus on sustainable practices like flood prevention rather than repetitive rescue efforts. Let us set aside politics, avoid distractions, and work together towards lasting solutions.

Today, as we assess our situation and salvage what we can, we take this moment to reflect and consider our choices. We have the power to shape our future. It is time to act decisively and align our actions with our values, moving away from theatrics and towards meaningful progress.

There is a part where the water level is almost neck-high, which may affect vehicles on the highway soon.
