The Kolehiyo ng Lungsod ng Dasmariñas (KLD) visited De La Salle University (DLSU) for a benchmarking activity with the DLSU Intellectual Property Office (DIPO) and the DLSU Innovation and Technology Office (DITO) on July 22, 2024.

The KLD administrators present in this visit were: Kenneth Auxillos-Cualbar, Head of Intellectual Property and Technology Licensing Unit; Lodelio Millo, Head of Data Protection Unit; Cesar Galingana, Head for Center for Smart Engineering, merging Technologies, and Innovations; Bernard Ferrer, Head of Industry Relations, Internationalization and Global Partnerships Unit; Jerbert Abargos, Director for Center for Public Relations, Strategic Planning and Communications; Cecilia Raquel Alvaran, Director for Center Knowledge Management; and Dr. Ernesto Bastida, Jr., Vice President for Research, Mission, and External Affairs.

They were personally welcomed by Atty. Christopher Cruz, DIPO Director; Peter Immanuel Tenido, DITO Project Director; and Pamela Raye Tadeo De La Salle Intellectual Property Office - DIPO Officer. DIPO and DITO both shared comprehensive presentations, providing valuable information on how they effectively manage intellectual property and foster innovative practices.

This initiative provided an opportunity for the KLD officials to glean insights into DLSU’s best practices in Intellectual Property (IP) management and innovation.

𝗞𝗟𝗗 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰 𝗔𝗟𝗖𝗨𝗖𝗢𝗔 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲

The Kolehiyo ng Lungsod ng Dasmariñas (KLD) participated in the Commission on Accreditation for Local Colleges and Universities- Alcucoa National Research Conference held on July 18-19, 2024, at the City College of Angeles.

KLD presented two research papers during the conference. Bien Anonuevo, Head of Community Engagements, Service Learning, and Social Advocacy Unit, presented “The Construction of Gender-Responsive Classrooms in a Higher Educational Institution: Exploration of Teachers’ Situated Knowledge, Pedagogical Practices, and Common Challenges in Promoting Gender Equality”. This paper is co-authored by Dr. Ernesto Bastida Jr., Jerbert Abargos, Rudy Bhonne De Lara, Jhonies Saysi, Jet Martine Geronimo, Rhea Kim, and Eunice Luching. In this study, the researchers proposed a theory that outlines the processes and practices that set, strengthen, and sustain gender equality principles in pedagogical and institutional contexts.

In addition, Jhonies Saysi, Head of Publications Unit, presented the research paper entitled “Strengthening the Roles of Locally-Funded Higher Educational Institution in Securing a Sustainable Future Through the Development of Sustainability-Informed Research and Extension Governance Framework. Co-authored by Dr. Ernesto Bastida Jr., Cecilia Raquel Alvaran, Kenneth Auxillos-Cualbar, Lodelio D. Millo, Rudy Bhonne De Lara, and Jerbert Abargos, this paper developed a sustainability-informed research and extension governance framework which contains of the research agenda, institutional actors, sustainability metrics, scope of impacts, priority areas, core characteristics and principles, and enabling mechanisms.

During the awarding ceremony, “The Construction of Gender-Responsive Classrooms in a Higher Educational Institution: Exploration of Teachers’ Situated Knowledge, Pedagogical Practices, and Common Challenges in Promoting Gender Equality” was recognized as second Best Paper.

The 2024 ALCUCOA National Research Conference was participated in by different local colleges and universities (LUCs) across the country, demonstrating their excellence, contributions, and initiatives in relation to the conference theme “Pursuing Global Development through Local Multidisciplinary Education. This event enables LUCs to engage in a significant platform where they explore various issues with respect to the following sub-themes: a.) Local Higher Education, Public Policy, and Sustainable Development; b.) Promoting Health and Well-being Through Education; c.) Interdisciplinary Solutions to Complex Social, Economic, and Cultural Issues; d.) Integrating Business, Leadership, and Educational Technology for Education; e.) Education during Conflict and Emergency Situations; and f.) Embracing Diversity, Equity, and Inclusivity (DEI) in Higher Educational Institution.

The Mercury Drug Foundation, Inc. recently made a generous donation to the Kolehiyo ng Lungsod ng Dasmariñas, providing 21 packs of Sarimax 275 mg tablets (100’s) and 15 packs of s-Troban Ointment (5 g). This donation aims to support the institution's Health Services Unit, ensuring the availability of essential medicines for the college community.

Ms. Geraldine Villas, Rph, Branch Manager of Mercury Drug City of Dasmariñas Aguinaldo Highway, facilitated the donation. The donation was received by Mr. Jaycee N. Toledo, RMT, Director for Center for Emergency Management, Safety and Security, Ms. Julie Ann Jasmin, Head of the Health Services Unit, and Ms. Alina Javier, Secretary, Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs.

The Kolehiyo ng Lungsod ng Dasmarinas (KLD) and Cavite State University (CvSU) signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) on July 18, 2024, marking a significant step forward in their shared commitment to academic excellence and community engagement.

This collaboration lies a shared vision to enhance the quality of education and broaden the horizons of learning opportunities for students in Cavite. Both CvSU and KLD recognize the immense value of cross-institutional cooperation in fostering a vibrant academic environment that nurtures intellectual curiosity, promotes critical thinking and prepares students for success in a rapidly evolving world.

The MOA outlines a comprehensive framework for collaboration in assisting one another to carry forward joint research and extension, create a program of exchange of their respective faculty members and students for instructional research and cultural purposes, explore potential of co-sponsoring international conferences and academic exchanges in areas of joint interests, explore the possibility of offering dual or joint- degree programs and exchange of educational materials, research publications and instructional information.

To all students who have passed the admission process and are listed on our page, please note that the final day to confirm your slots will be on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, from 8:00AM-5:00PM. This confirmation must be done ONSITE.

Students who did not receive their acceptance letters may also come to KLD and will also receive a hard copy of the said letter on Tuesday. We are currently experiencing maintenance in our e-mail process. All processes will be done FACE TO FACE.

The admission process will officially close on Wednesday, July 17. Thank you and welcome new Regals!

The Kolehiyo ng Lungsod ng Dasmarinas (KLD) marked the commencement of the construction of the third building, a significant response to the improvement of the institution’s infrastructure to best serve students. The groundbreaking ceremony happened at 4:00 PM on June 27, 2024. This initiative underscores the city's dedication to providing accessible and high-quality education to Dasmarineños.

The new building signifies an expansion of KLD's capacity to serve the growing student population. It will likely house additional classrooms, laboratories, or other facilities that will further enhance the learning experience of students.

The ceremony was graced by the presence of Mayor Jenny Barzaga, Vice Mayor Rex Mangubat together with Sangguniang Panglunsod Members. Pagamutan ng Dasmariñas, Green Ladies, Kababaihan ng Dasmariñas sa Bagong Milenyo, Punong Barangay of Dasmariñas, KLD students and guardians and KLD Heads, representing the cornerstone of the institution's academic excellence. The blessing of the building site by Rev. Fr. Herald Mart Arena added a touch of spiritual solemnity to the occasion.

As the third building's development moves forward, it will surely act as a beacon of progress, showing the way to a better future for KLD and its students.

𝑲𝑳𝑫 𝒑𝒂𝒓𝒕𝒊𝒄𝒊𝒑𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒔 𝒊𝒏 𝑵𝑺𝑬𝑫

The Kolehiyo ng Lungsod ng Dasmariñas (KLD) participated in the National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill on June 28, 2024 to increase awareness and preparedness of the KLD community in terms of first-aid response, self-protection, and evacuation.

The drill was organized by the Center for Emergency Management, Security and Safety headed by Director Jaycee N. Toledo in partnership with the Philippine National Police- Dasmariñas and the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC). It commenced with a simulated earthquake announcement, prompting participants to take immediate action. Faculty, staff, and students practiced the "Duck, Cover, and Hold" under their desks or sturdy tables.

NSED is a vital component of KLD's commitment to the safety and well-being of its employees and students. The important drill aimed to ensure coordinated response in the event of a real earthquake and to foster preparedness.

The Health Services Unit (HSU) organized the Universal Health Care (UHC) and Konsulta orientation and application for the incoming first-year students of Kolehiyo ng Lungsod ng Dasmarinas (KLD) with the help of the PhilHealth and the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) for three days, June 20, 21 and 24, 2024.

Per PhilHealth Cir. No. 2020-022, this program provides “𝘢𝘤𝘤𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘱𝘳𝘪𝘮𝘢𝘳𝘺 𝘤𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘣𝘺 𝘢𝘥𝘰𝘱𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢 𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘱𝘰𝘯𝘴𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘧𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘮𝘦𝘤𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘪𝘴𝘮 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘥𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺 𝘰𝘧 𝘲𝘶𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘱𝘳𝘪𝘮𝘢𝘳𝘺 𝘤𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘴𝘦𝘳𝘷𝘪𝘤𝘦𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘰𝘥𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘦𝘴. The PhilHealth representatives discussed the benefits of being a member of the agency and how to fill out the forms. After the discussion, the CSWDO representatives assessed the documents submitted by the incoming students.

In celebration of Arbor Day with the theme “Plants for a Greener Future”, the KLD Midwifery graduating students of the Kolehiyo ng Lungsod ng Dasmariñas (KLD), in partnership with the Local Government Unit (LGU) and the Dasmarinas City Agricultural Office, conducted a tree-planting activity in Sitio Buwisan Brgy. Langkaan II on June 25, 2024 to promote a greener Dasmariñas.

The collaboration among future healthcare providers, the local government, and the agricultural sector further strengthens the impact of this initiative. The LGU's support demonstrates their commitment to environmental sustainability, while the expertise of the Agricultural Office ensures the proper selection and planting of trees. The tree-planting activity serves as more than just a one-day event. It is a testament to the enduring commitment of KLD graduates to the health of their community, extending beyond the walls of hospitals and clinics.

This initiative was made possible through the efforts of the Mayor Jenny Barzaga in partnership with Panlungsod na Agrikultor Jennifer S. Ibayan and KLD President Dr. Juanito O. Cabanias.

This tree planting activity serves as an inspiration for others to embrace environmental responsibility and work together to create a greener, healthier future for the City of Dasmariñas.

To ensure cleanliness and safety within the College's premises, KLD employees and students participated in the Bayanihan Day 4, May 21, 2024.

Faculty members, non-teaching personnel, and students channeled their support by conducting a clean-up drive in different facilities in the institution.

Through this initiative, KLD employees as well as students displayed their undying gratitude to our beloved, Cong. Pidi.

𝗞𝗟𝗗 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗵𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗕𝗮𝘁𝗦𝗨

The Office of the Vice President for Research, Mission, and External Affairs (OVPRMEA) and Office of the Vice President of Academic Affairs (OVPAA) of the Kolehiyo ng Lungsod ng Dasmariñas (KLD) conducted a benchmarking visit with the College of Medicine of the Batangas State University (BatSU) on June 07, 2024.

Through this activity, the KLD gained insights regarding best practices of BatSU College of Medicine. Specifically, this gave the KLD representatives with knowledge when it comes to the preparation in offering the same program, laboratory preparation, and the program's quality assurance.

The team was welcomed by Assoc. Prof. Regina Delute, Head of External Affairs, facilitated a presentation featuring BatSU and the College of Medicine. Following the presentation, the team participated in a Q&A session with the faculty and staff of the College of Medicine, gaining a deeper understanding of their practices. Additionally, the KLD delegates gained valuable firsthand observation through a tour of the college facilities such as the anatomy labs, simulation centers, and classrooms.

8. Jerickson Bautista - Director for Academic Programming and Implementation
9. Jannel Alano - Officer, UniFAST Section

Batangas State University Pablo Borbon Campus representatives were:

This benchmarking visit serves as a continuous learning cycle ensuring that the KLD is constantly striving to achieve its mission and vision as a higher institution of learning.
