The 27th Infantry (ACTION) Battalion with the collaborative effort of Youth For Peace Movement Talbos (Davao Chapter), and Local Government of Davao City with the Peace 911 successfully conducted the three-day Paquibato Youth Leadership Summit 2024 with the theme โPeace and Solidarity: Our shared Responsibilityโ on 26-28 July 2024 held at Brgy Malabog Gymnasium, Brgy Malabog, Paquibato District Davao City.
118 different youth leaders attended the summit, which featured interactive lectures and debates on youth issues and concerns, team-building exercises, and spiritual enlightenment. In its third iteration, the summit comprised of civilian and military facilitators who highlighted the importance of moral values, patriotism, respect and discipline.
The event was intended to promote camaraderie among youth involved in peace and leadership projects, as well as empowering and protecting them from the Communist Terrorist Group's (CTG) false doctrine. Further, the YLS objective is to empower the youth to make positive change, pursue opportunity and create positivity within the communities.
โThis training endeavors everyone to make the most of this opportunity for self-development and collaboration that shall further enable our participants to become instruments in positive change. Maybe one of you will serve as a lead for others to follow and join the cause of building the strong community free from threat of terror and violence, again congratulations to everyone and we look forward to you gaining remarkable experience through the youth leadership summitโ. The conduct of this activity is part of the unitโs sustainment effort to reach out communities located in the remote areas. Also, to inspire the youth to study and insulate them from the CTGs recruitment.

Under the leadership of LtCol. Franklin M Garcia, Commanding Officer, the 27th Infantry (ACTION) Battalion, in collaboration with the City Government of Davao and various national agencies including Police Station 7, DCPO, and the 10th Civil-Military Operation (CMO) Battalion, conducted a transformative 10-day Deradicalization Program from June 20-29, 2024, at Brgy Malabog Gymnasium, Paquibato District, Davao City.
The program engaged 61 participants, comprising twenty-nine former members of Milisya ng Bayan (MB) and thirty-two Former Rebels (FRs) from across Davao City, predominantly from Paquibato District. Designed to expose the deceptive tactics and recruitment strategies of Communist Terrorist Groups (CTG), the program featured lectures, counseling sessions, and an information drive highlighting local government programs critical to addressing CTG exploitation in communities.
LtCol. Franklin M Garcia emphasized the program's role in fostering peace and community solidarity: "Dahil sa inyo nagging insurgency free na ang Davao Region, dapat mapanatili natin ito, tulungan niyo kami...โ This sentiment underscores our commitment to sustainable peace through informed decisions and community support."
Participants expressed gratitude for their transformation from radicalism to embracing peace and lawfulness, reflecting on their journey away from the ideologies that once ensnared them. Ricardo C Omboy, Former Platoon Commander, PBC 1, shared, "magpasalamat pud ko sa tanan labi na sa Battalion Commander sa 27IB, sa Peace 911 sa tanan ahensya sa gobyerno, bisan tuod nga nagmali ta sa pagtuo ug pamaagi pero gidawat gihapon ta nila, wala sila nagdumot nato."
The program also facilitates participants' eligibility for the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP), an essential step toward their full reintegration into society through psychosocial interventions.
Together, these efforts signify a crucial step in Davao's journey toward lasting peace and community resilience.

Different social services from the benevolence of various government and non-government agencies were provided to the beneficiaries of Brgy Salvacion.
The activity was highlighted with free medical and dental services, free circumcision, free eye check-up, free haircut for men and women, and distribution of slippers that benefitted a total of 300 beneficiaries.
The successful completion of the activity underscores the crucial role of collaboration in fostering sustainable peace and social development. Sixty-seven (67) participants were provided of AFP-PNP Security Situational Awareness and efforts on Preventing CTG Resurgence and Law Enforcement Operations (LEO), Anti-Terrorism Act of 2020 and Culture of Security lectures then followed by an open forum to discuss and address relevant security issues.
The activity is a continuing awareness effort to educate the business sector to deny the Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) of resource generation; and, to harmonize and synchronize respective Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) with the unitโs efforts in sustaining peace and development.

๐๐๐๐ || The 27th Infantry (ACTION) Battalion received a Fourteen Thousand (14,000) tilapia fingerlings from the benevolence of Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) XI on May 30, 2024 at Battalion Headquarters, Purok Golden Shower, Brgy Malabog, Paquibato District, Davao City.
The ten thousand tilapia fingerlings were handed over to Mabuhay Womenโs Association at Barangay Mabuhay, Paquibato District, Davao City as one of the recipient Peopleโs Organization (PO) that the Community Development Team (CDT) of this unit have been assisting. Meanwhile, the four thousand tilapia fingerlings were received by the CDT to be cultured in the Demo Farm of this unit.
This endeavor showcases the collaborative efforts between the government agencies towards the attainment of the lasting peace in the Davao City.

This initiative is part of the unitโs sustainment operations to end the cycle of violence through regular visitation, ensuring they are protected against possible CTG exploitation.

On May 4th, 2024, a collaborative effort led by the 27th Infantry (ACTION) Battalion, Panabo Agriya Eagles Club, Panabo Agriya Lady Eagles Club, Little Step Foundation, and Revitalized Pulis sa Barangay brought a ray of hope to the indigenous communities in Paquibato District, Davao City.
Together, we reached out to four sitios (Agsam, KTC, Mahayahay, and Balamban) in Barangay Malabog, providing essential support and care. The day was filled with meaningful activities, including a film viewing for the IP youth featuring 'Memoirs of Teenage Rebel,' discussions on the Culture of Security in Davao City, powerful testimonies from a former rebel, and the distribution of food packs, slippers, toys, and packed lunches.
In total, we were able to touch the lives of 200 individuals, contributing to the well-being of the IP community and fostering inclusive and sustainable peace and development in the region. This initiative also plays a crucial role in preventing the resurgence of Communist Terrorist Groups (CTGs) by addressing underlying issues and extending a helping hand to that in need.
