“𝗣𝗔𝗤𝗨𝗜𝗕𝗔𝗧𝗢 𝗬𝗢𝗨𝗧𝗛 𝗟𝗘𝗔𝗗𝗘𝗥𝗦𝗛𝗜𝗣 𝗦𝗨𝗠𝗠𝗜𝗧 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰”

The 27th Infantry (ACTION) Battalion with the collaborative effort of Youth For Peace Movement Talbos (Davao Chapter), and Local Government of Davao City with the Peace 911 successfully conducted the three-day Paquibato Youth Leadership Summit 2024 with the theme “Peace and Solidarity: Our shared Responsibility” on 26-28 July 2024 held at Brgy Malabog Gymnasium, Brgy Malabog, Paquibato District Davao City.

118 different youth leaders attended the summit, which featured interactive lectures and debates on youth issues and concerns, team-building exercises, and spiritual enlightenment. In its third iteration, the summit comprised of civilian and military facilitators who highlighted the importance of moral values, patriotism, respect and discipline.

The event was intended to promote camaraderie among youth involved in peace and leadership projects, as well as empowering and protecting them from the Communist Terrorist Group's (CTG) false doctrine. Further, the YLS objective is to empower the youth to make positive change, pursue opportunity and create positivity within the communities.

“This training endeavors everyone to make the most of this opportunity for self-development and collaboration that shall further enable our participants to become instruments in positive change. Maybe one of you will serve as a lead for others to follow and join the cause of building the strong community free from threat of terror and violence, again congratulations to everyone and we look forward to you gaining remarkable experience through the youth leadership summit”. As Hon Sebastian Duterte, Davao City Mayor deliver his message thru PCOL ANGEL SUMAGAYSAY (Ret), Head of Public Security and Safety Office (PSSO) on his speech.

The summit demonstrated the government and military's dedication to training young individuals honing their talents, and discovering their potential as future nation leaders, allowing them to grow and contribute to a more sustainable, inclusive, peaceful, and brighter future for all.

It is also attended by PLT JEVIE T CALAGUI, Deputy Chief of Police, PS7, Paquibato District, Hon. Atty. Melchor Jay Quitain, Vice Mayor of Davao City, Hon. Al Ryan Alejandre, City Councilor and Former City Councilor Danny Dayanghirang.

The activity was presided by BLGU Council led by Hon. Nestor E Labrador, Barangay Captain of said barangay. The celebration was highlighted by a Serbisyo Caravan from different government agencies and offices of Davao City, which caters to the different concerns of the people to ensure that these services can be availed by every Davaoeños.

This activity was spearheaded by Brgy Council and Brgy Health Workers (BHW) of Brgy Gumalang, BDDC, headed by Hon Jennifer E Porgarillisa, Brgy Chairperson in partnership with APO AGUA headed by Ms MC Capili, External Relation Davao City Health Office headed by Dr Maribel T Camelotes, District Health Officer and National Commision on Indigenous People (NCIP) headed by Atty Ariel Montaña Regional Hearing Officer NCIP Region XI.

This activity provides Free Tooth Extraction, Free Pe**le Circumcision, Free X-ray and free Random Blood Sugar test with free Medicines that was benefited by more or less 300 populace of Brgy Gumalang.

The activity was highlighted by the distribution of school supplies and free snacks to eighty-five elementary pupils of Mabunao Elementary School undergoing National Learning Camp (NLE).

The conduct of this activity is part of the unit’s sustainment effort to reach out communities located in the remote areas. Also, to inspire the youth to study and insulate them from the CTGs recruitment.

Under the leadership of LtCol. Franklin M Garcia, Commanding Officer, the 27th Infantry (ACTION) Battalion, in collaboration with the City Government of Davao and various national agencies including Police Station 7, DCPO, and the 10th Civil-Military Operation (CMO) Battalion, conducted a transformative 10-day Deradicalization Program from June 20-29, 2024, at Brgy Malabog Gymnasium, Paquibato District, Davao City.

The program engaged 61 participants, comprising twenty-nine former members of Milisya ng Bayan (MB) and thirty-two Former Rebels (FRs) from across Davao City, predominantly from Paquibato District. Designed to expose the deceptive tactics and recruitment strategies of Communist Terrorist Groups (CTG), the program featured lectures, counseling sessions, and an information drive highlighting local government programs critical to addressing CTG exploitation in communities.

LtCol. Franklin M Garcia emphasized the program's role in fostering peace and community solidarity: "Dahil sa inyo nagging insurgency free na ang Davao Region, dapat mapanatili natin ito, tulungan niyo kami...” This sentiment underscores our commitment to sustainable peace through informed decisions and community support."

Participants expressed gratitude for their transformation from radicalism to embracing peace and lawfulness, reflecting on their journey away from the ideologies that once ensnared them. Ricardo C Omboy, Former Platoon Commander, PBC 1, shared, "magpasalamat pud ko sa tanan labi na sa Battalion Commander sa 27IB, sa Peace 911 sa tanan ahensya sa gobyerno, bisan tuod nga nagmali ta sa pagtuo ug pamaagi pero gidawat gihapon ta nila, wala sila nagdumot nato."

The program also facilitates participants' eligibility for the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP), an essential step toward their full reintegration into society through psychosocial interventions.

Together, these efforts signify a crucial step in Davao's journey toward lasting peace and community resilience.

𝐈𝐍 𝐏𝐇𝐎𝐓𝐎𝐒 || The Charlie Company of 27th Infantry (ACTION) Battalion led by 1LT ADOLPH RELIEZER G BUENDIA (INF) PA, Commanding Officer, participated in the 13th BJMP Community Relations Service Month spearheaded by Panabo City District Jail on June 28, 2024.

Different social services from the benevolence of various government and non-government agencies were provided to the beneficiaries of Brgy Salvacion.

The activity was highlighted with free medical and dental services, free circumcision, free eye check-up, free haircut for men and women, and distribution of slippers that benefitted a total of 300 beneficiaries.

The successful completion of the activity underscores the crucial role of collaboration in fostering sustainable peace and social development. This approach, in line with the all- encompassing strategy stated in EO-70, is a testament to the 27th Infantry (ACTION) Battalion’s unwavering commitment in serving the Filipino people.

𝐈𝐍 𝐏𝐇𝐎𝐓𝐎𝐒 | The 27th Infantry “Action” Battalion together with the National Intelligence Coordinating Agency (NICA) and PNP Stations of Paquibato, Marilog, and Toril Districts, jointly conducted the 𝟏𝐬𝐭 𝗦𝗲𝗺𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝘂𝗺 among the Owners/Security/Operations Officers of various construction companies, resort owners, quarry company and business firms operating within the unit Area of Operation on June 04, 2024 at RCP 27IB, Barangay New Malaga (Dalisay), Panabo City, Davao del Norte, June 24, 2024 held at Brgy Multipurpose Hall, Brgy Baganihan, Marilog District, Davao City, and, on June 26, 2024 at Sitio Uguis, Brgy Eden, Toril District, Davao City.

Sixty-seven (67) participants were provided of AFP-PNP Security Situational Awareness and efforts on Preventing CTG Resurgence and Law Enforcement Operations (LEO), Anti-Terrorism Act of 2020 and Culture of Security lectures then followed by an open forum to discuss and address relevant security issues.

The activity is a continuing awareness effort to educate the business sector to deny the Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) of resource generation; and, to harmonize and synchronize respective Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) with the unit’s efforts in sustaining peace and development.

𝗜𝗡 𝗣𝗛𝗢𝗧𝗢𝗦 | The troops of Charlie Company, 27th Infantry (ACTION) Battalion in partnership with the students of ACES Polytechnic College, Inc. successfully conducted the 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡 at Brgy Lumiad, Paquibato District, Davao City on June 12, 2024.

This meaningful initiative was spearheaded by the two (2) classes undergoing National Service Training Program (NSTP) at ACES Polytechnic College, Inc. as part of their commitment to community service and social responsibility.

The activity was highlighted through visitation and giving of four (4) sacks of rice, assorted grocery packages and plasticwares to four (4) selected beneficiaries.

Indeed, the sustainment of peace couldn’t be relied on the security forces alone, but it is everyone’s duty to take part as mandated by the EO70 Whole of the Nations Approach; be a catalyst for peace for the future generation.

BGEN ANGCAO expressed his heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to every ACTION Troopers for their unwavering dedication to serve during the Brigade’s campaign against SRSDG PEDDLER that pave the way for the eventual dismantling of the said terrorist group.

Indeed, the visit of the 1003rd Commander brought encouragement to the unit to remain steadfast and committed on the current effort on denying CTG resurgence within the unit’s area of operations.

Free medical consultation, circumcision (tuli) and dental services from 6TAS, AFPRESCOM, 7ARCEN, and Smile Care Clinic; and, job fair from the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) Davao are some of the highlights of the Dental and Medical Mission. Free haircuts from Bunawan Alliance Gay Association and 11RCDG, distribution of medicines from City Health Office Paquibato, food packs from CSWDO , medicines from 1197 DXFE and Don Antonio Floirendo Sr., Foundation Inc. (AOFF), Legal Counseling from The International Family Ministries of River of Life Inc. that benefited to MOL 𝟔𝟎𝟎 𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐝𝐬 from the said barangay.

The 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐛𝐢𝐬𝐲𝐨 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐯𝐚𝐧, organized by the 27th IB's Civil-Military Operations under the direction of CMO Officer CPT EDDIE REY B NAVALES (INF) PA, was a resounding success. The event had a profound effect on the local populace, demonstrating the power of collaborative community efforts in driving positive change.

The convergence of efforts, as emphasized by the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC), is essential for the delivery of needed services among Geographically Isolated and Disadvantaged Areas (GIDAs) such as Brgy Lumiad as part of the maintenance of peace and zero CTG sightings in Davao City; and, to enlist everyone in the maintenance of peace and community development.

The successful completion of the Serbisyo Caravan underscores the crucial role of collaboration in community development and peacekeeping. This approach, in line with the all-encompassing strategy stated in EO-70, is a testament to the 27th Infantry "Action" Battalion's unwavering commitment to assisting the Filipino people and strengthening law and order.

𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊 || The 27th Infantry (ACTION) Battalion received a Fourteen Thousand (14,000) tilapia fingerlings from the benevolence of Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) XI on May 30, 2024 at Battalion Headquarters, Purok Golden Shower, Brgy Malabog, Paquibato District, Davao City.

The ten thousand tilapia fingerlings were handed over to Mabuhay Women’s Association at Barangay Mabuhay, Paquibato District, Davao City as one of the recipient People’s Organization (PO) that the Community Development Team (CDT) of this unit have been assisting. Meanwhile, the four thousand tilapia fingerlings were received by the CDT to be cultured in the Demo Farm of this unit.
This endeavor showcases the collaborative efforts between the government agencies towards the attainment of the lasting peace in the Davao City.

𝐌𝐚𝐲 𝟐𝟓, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒 || The troops of the 27th Infantry (ACTION) Battalion conducted house to house visitation and giving of food packs to the family of slain Former Rebels (FRs) along the different barangays of Paquibato District, Davao City on 23 May 2024. This initiative is part of the unit’s sustainment operations to end the cycle of violence through regular visitation, ensuring they are protected against possible CTG exploitation.

𝐄𝐱𝐜𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐧𝐞𝐰𝐬!

On May 4th, 2024, a collaborative effort led by the 27th Infantry (ACTION) Battalion, Panabo Agriya Eagles Club, Panabo Agriya Lady Eagles Club, Little Step Foundation, and Revitalized Pulis sa Barangay brought a ray of hope to the indigenous communities in Paquibato District, Davao City.

Together, we reached out to four sitios (Agsam, KTC, Mahayahay, and Balamban) in Barangay Malabog, providing essential support and care. The day was filled with meaningful activities, including a film viewing for the IP youth featuring 'Memoirs of Teenage Rebel,' discussions on the Culture of Security in Davao City, powerful testimonies from a former rebel, and the distribution of food packs, slippers, toys, and packed lunches.

In total, we were able to touch the lives of 200 individuals, contributing to the well-being of the IP community and fostering inclusive and sustainable peace and development in the region. This initiative also plays a crucial role in preventing the resurgence of Communist Terrorist Groups (CTGs) by addressing underlying issues and extending a helping hand to that in need.
