One of the advantages of being a baker is I can make my own birthday cake however I want it. For this year, I decided to make our best-seller moist chocolate cake with ganache filling and buttercream frosting in orange hues to pay homage to my . Thank you all for the well-wishes! My heart is full.

Chocolate Cheesecake for my mum and sister who were then celebrating their birthdays back home. Though miles away from my loved ones, I still celebrate with them. Thank God for today's technology!

Made these Pan de Sal (pandesal), a classic Filipino bread roll, when I was craving for a good old brunch. This versatile bread is usually consumed in the morning or as snacks. Best paired with cheese, egg, pancit canton, coffee, corned beef, spam, or simply by itself.

As Sweet Advocate turns 12 today, I would like to share with you some of my culinary adventures here in Melbourne in the next posts.

The last two years have been quite a journey for me, considering that most of it were spent under lockdown. Like many of you, I tried to engage in old and new hobbies to keep my sanity.

During my lone times, aside from finishing my culinary studies, I also tried gardening, painting, and of course, cooking, baking, and cake decorating at home!

Using my newly acquired culinary skills, I made different types of bread, experimented on new sweet and savoury recipes, baked cakes for my family and friends here and back home (even if I would finish it by myself in a week's time), cooked Filipino dishes that I really miss, and made desserts just because.
