In behalf of the four-person team, Bea Michaela O. Plaza, a BS Statistics graduate emphasizes that mathematical theory holds a great anchor in uncovering statistical meaning. “ Most undergraduate studies in statistics focus heavily on applied aspects, with only a few delving deeply into theoretical foundations. It's crucial to remember that without correct mathematical theory, applications in statistics are almost meaningless”

Hailing from the BS Mathematics program, Marryl C. Laput stressed that most CSM undergraduate theses lie as a summation of their knowledge acquired in their bachelor’s program, yet, as a product of online classes, she saw herself as having weak fundamentals but strong potential. “Having spent my first two years of college online with no retention and lacking foundational knowledge, I found it very challenging to construct the results of my study. However, I am deeply grateful to my adviser, Dr. Orge, whose patience and guidance have helped me navigate these challenges. I also want to acknowledge Dr. Canoy for sharing his expertise.”

Laput shares three tips for future mathematics thesis prodigies, especially in the field of graphs. “First, staying in contact with your thesis adviser. Maintain regular consultations, and don’t hesitate to seek feedback, advice, and assistance with any difficulties you encounter. Their input is essential in refining your questions. Second, explain and discuss your study with others. Trust me, it helps to sort your ideas out and generate new ones. Lastly, get familiar with relevant software and tools. In our case, we used LaTeX.”
