As communicated by ShelterBox Representative Abner Tayco, the BRP Laguna(vessel)will be arriving CDO on January 21, 2012. Aboard are 500 tents, 85 boxes intended for CDO and Iligan. They are also in the process of requesting for the release of another 524 tents.

As of today,the 80 shelter boxes have been completely set up at shelter box village. On the site is also a water bladder system donated by the Swiss government. It provides for the water needs of the residnts there.

As of Dec.31,2011 to present, d verifctn and orientatn of sheltr box recipients is handld by Rtn. Janice Rigodon of ilgan bay.

The 150 tents that came frm UK was made possible through d efforts of our very own DGE George Hamoy who emaild R.I. and requestd d shpment of d tents. These shelterbox is one of d tangible thngs that Rotary Foundatn caters. Thus, to be a Paul Harris Fellow s greatly encouragd. These sheltrboxs were usd also in thailand and indonesia flood,and in afghanstan.

Rotary clubs of Iligan City will be putting up a TENT CITY in ilgan dat wl serve as temporary sheltr for homeless flood vctms. D tents are called shelterboxes,d cost of 1 s $1000. Through Rotary Foundation,ths becomes availble for ilgan n cdo. Rotary once again makes true its call to REACH WITHIN AND EMBRACE HUMANITY.

Calling all rotarians to be at the clubhouse tomrw at 8am for the demo of tent building. 150 tents will be distributed to homeless victims of typhoon Sendong as per info by Pres. Sammy.
