A brighter start next academic year where these future leaders aim for more projects and accomplishments and serve their fellow TagaWest students. Leaders are the spokespeople for the hidden voices of some students. Unified students and proponents of the university in molding the good beginning of the academic year.
Congratulations, candidates! May your full potential in running for the College Student Council be your motivation to commit to the character of a good leader.
Good day, TagaWest! Please be guided accordingly by the following schedule of voting and your precinct rooms. You are given a time allotment to vote and will be excused from your classes for the meantime. After that, you may proceed to your respective classes. Thank you so much!

Steps in Voting for the May 7, 2024 College Student Council Election (Voting Time: 8:00 A.M. โ 5:00 P.M.)
STEP 1: Visit the Student Electoral Committee WVSU-PC page to know your precinct rooms and schedule time for voting.
STEP 2: Go to your assigned room and introduce yourself to the committee by stating your name and year & section.
STEP 3: Get your ballot from the committee and fill-out the ballot at the voting area.
STEP 4: Accomplish the ballot by fully shading the oval appearing before the name of the candidate you wish to vote for. Do not overvote.
STEP 5: Check your ballot and make sure to write your name, year, section, signature, and ballot number below the cutting line of the ballot paper. Then, have your right thumb stained on the ink pad and stamped on the ballot before dropping it in the ballot box.
ELECTION RULES & REGULATIONS (Voting Day Rules)
1. Voting for the CSC election is open to legitimate West Visayas State University-Pototan Campus students.
2. Ballots are used for voting. It is forbidden to show your ballot or discuss your vote or the votes of others.
3. Voters must vacate the premises right away after casting their votes, and only eligible voters are allowed inside.
4. It is prohibited to intimidate or buy votes.
5. On the day of election period, campaign platforms on social media are not allowed.

On May 7, 2024, which is the election day, students are also required to proceed to their classes while the election is still going on. The schedule for casting your votes will be announced soon. Thank you.

If a candidate is violating the rules, the Student Electoral Committee will take action for disqualification due to malpractice in being the candidate for the election. Thank you so much.

Are you hoping to become a student leader? With the commitment and tenacity necessary to fully dedicate oneself to serving the school?
The Student Electoral Committee will spearhead the CSC Election 2024-25 under the guidance of Mr. Adrian B. Taleon and with the help of Office of Student Affairs!
Where the Action of the Taga-West Begins!
Guidelines on the Filing of Application for Candidacy are as follows:
1. For the Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson, he/she must have at least 1 academic year of residency in the college; for lower positions, at least one semester.
2. S/he must not have the final grade lower than 2.75 and must not have the final average rating of 2.5; must not have 3 incomplete grades a semester preceding the election. (Note: An original copy of grades shall be submitted. Incomplete grades must be backed-up by a certification signed by the teacher.)
3. S/he must obtain a certificate of good moral character from the Student Electoral Committee Office.
4. S/he must not a member of the Student Electoral Committee.
5. S/he must not hold any major position such as Chair and Vice-Chair in any interest groups, such as ROTC Corps Commander and staff or Editor-in-Chief, Managing Editor, or Associate Editor of any student publication.
6. S/he must be a natural born Filipino citizen.
7. S/he must have at least 15 units load per semester.
8. S/he must be duly consented by his parents or guardian upon joining the council and is required to submit a letter of consent by them.
Note: A candidate is considered disqualified in running for any College Student Council position if he/she lacks any of the requirements. An elected officer who may later on be found to have been disqualified in accordance with the forgoing qualification shall be subjected to investigation by the SEC, whose decision on matter is final.
