INVESTMENT BRIEF WRITE-SHOP FOR THE LEDIPOS OF ILOILO

20 October 2023, Iloilo City - The Iloilo Provincial Government continues to strengthen the capacity of Local Economic Development and Investment Promotion Officers in the crafting sound and effective policies to support economic development in the Province of Iloilo.

The Provincial Local Economic Development and Investment Promotion Center (PLEDIPC) during the week-long celebration of the Iloilo Business Week, has partner with the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry Iloilo Chapter to conduct an Investment Brief Writeshop and engaged the expertise of Coach Gleendo Dasmariñas.

The one-day activity has able to assist LEDIPOs by providing the guidelines in crafting an effective investment brief as well as practical tips in delivering this potential investments to prospect investors.

Provincial Administrator, Dr. Raul N. Banias, graced the event on behalf of the Governor Arthur R. Defensor, Jr. and emphasized the important role of LEDIPOs in promoting investments in the Province. Dr. Banias encourage LGUs to come up with good investment projects and instructed the PLEDIPC to explore the possibility of providing a cash incentives for the best investment brief as a seed fund.

The session has been fun and engaging, and the Province hope to materialize some of these projects for the benefit of Iloilo.

PCCI WHAT'S UP WESTERN VISAYAS BUSINESS CONFERENCE

19 October 2023, Iloilo City: What's Up Western Visayas Business Conference as part of the Iloilo Business Week celebration coordinated by the Philippine Chamber of Commerce & Industry - Iloilo Chapter, Inc. held at the Courtyard by Marriot.

The Iloilo Provincial Government is represented by various executives led by Dr. Raul N. Banias, MPA, Provincial Administrator, together with Ms. Aulynn B. Yue Sin, Provincial Local Economic Development and Investment Promotion Officer, and Ms. Salvacion Sibonga of the Provincial Information Communication Technology Management Office.

This conference provided a collaborative venue and brought various stakeholders together to explore, learn, and create opportunities, tap potential industries, and discuss the current trends in the business landscape in the region.

This is also an opportune time for the Iloilo Provincial Government to share its goals, aspirations, and directions pursued for the Province of Iloilo guided by its overarching development mantra, the Movement for a Robust, Progressive, Globally Competitive, and Resilient Province of Iloilo, as presented by Dr. Banias on behalf of Governor Defensor.

In the message of Dr. Banias, he emphasised the services of IPG in supporting businesses to thrive through the Local Economic and Development Investment Promotion Center (LEDIPC), including diligently crafting of investment briefs for potential investors, implementing policies to provide incentives, and operationalizing the Iloilo Investment Facilitation Network of the Province.

Dr. Banias also presented that IPG is crafting sound policies to improve our public infrastructure that are essential in attracting and retaining businesses and facilitating economic growth, like the upgrading of the Iloilo International Airport.

The province also recognised the importance of improving public education to build a well-educated workforce to sustain progress and innovation.

IPG's participation is a clear manifestation of strong public and private sector collaboration and is one with the business community to efficiently and effectively pursue development for the Province of Iloilo.

IPG MET WITH JS LAYSON AND COMPANY

14 Sept. 2023, Iloilo City - The executives of the Iloilo Provincial Government together with Mr. Jessraf Palmares, President of the Iloilo Federation for Information Technology, met with the management of JS Layson and Company to discuss a possible business-to-government partnership to expand investment in the Province of Iloilo. The meeting also opens the door for the province to present its economic development direction including its plans and programs that will encourage private sector participation.

Building strong partnerships between and among business and the private sector has been IPG's effective approach to fast-tracking the delivery of vital services and contributing to the efficient flow of business revenues in the province of Iloilo.

IPG LEDIP MEETS WITH ZMD INSURANCE SERVICES

The ZMD Insurance Services is represented by its Chief Executive Officer and President, Ms. Mary Jean Zarceno paid a visit to the Provincial Local Economic Development and Investment Promotion Center together with the team of Hon. John Michael Defensor, Vice Mayor of Mina Iloilo. They had a consultation meeting with the Center's Investment Promotion team to discuss updates on the initial inquiry of the company in terms of the investment directions being pursued by the Iloilo Provincial Government for the Province of Iloilo. Ms. Zarceno updated the team that they are very much willing to extend support to the Province by encouraging investors to come and do business here in Iloilo. In fact, initial ground works and investment pitch were already done by the group to potential investors that have already signified their interest to invest in Iloilo in the field of agriculture and industry.

The Center was pleased with the update of ZMD and informed that the Iloilo Provincial Government is also pursuing the development of growth corridors in the province and would extend assistance to the fulfillment of these plans.
